Windmill Lodge is a new, purpose built setting offering residential, dementia and nursing care services.

Located in Lytham St Annes, the lodge is a safe and welcoming environment where all residents receive the care and support they need in a space where they feel comfortable and relaxed.

Windmill Lodge also has a Day Centre for people who aren't ready for full-time residential care but are looking for extra support and company.

Every staff member has been chosen for their friendly, professional and caring qualities, and they work hard to create an atmosphere of harmony where residents can really feel comfortable in their home.

Athena Lodges offers respite care to those looking to stay for up to 4 weeks who require residential or nursing care services. Those joining the Lodges for a respite visit will have full access to all the facilities, activities and care services they need.

Windmill Lodge is a beautiful, purpose-built care facility and it is outstanding in every way. I have been absolutely delighted with the care and attention my mum has received. She is very happy there and has settled in so quickly. This is due to the kind, friendly, caring and professional staff who
go out of their way to attend to all needs of the residents and provide a lovely warm welcome to the relatives. It really is a wonderful place.

Nothing of significance to report. Staff are generally welcoming and helpful for all they seem rushed as staff numbers appear to be stretched. She is generally happy with the food and the comfort of her room. She always complains she is bored and has nothing to d,o which is at odds with what staff tell
me she has been involved in.

The staff were incredibly caring, attentive and respectful throughout the duration of my mum's stay. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Some were especially entertaining and helpful. I cannot remember the last time my mum laughed so much as she had been poorly for some time, and yet every day, she was
smiling and happy and even giggling.
The whole place was clean and spacious. She also really enjoyed her meals and socialising in the main lounge, which was beautifully kitted out from the décor to the furnishings. The overall ambience could not be faulted.

A very helpful stay for me as my wife needed to attend to various matters in the south of England. Unfortunately, I was still feeling slightly unwell from the effects of a viral/chest infection and took advice from my allocated community matron whilst in residence. I was supported by the on-site nursing
staff in this and had begun to feel better about leaving. I had mostly chosen to remain in my room during the stay, but my overall impression was very favourable, and the staff were very kind.

Windmill Lodge is a brand new care home and my wife was one of the first there. Therefore my comments are based on a short period of time. However, I have been very impressed so far! The facilities and the standards of accommodation are the best I have seen. Most importantly, the staff are extremely
kind and caring with nothing too much trouble for them. A warm professional calm pervades and, so far, I am extremely pleased we chose this care home for my wife.

Anthony Hoban

Job Title: Senior Sales Advisor

Hello, my name is Anthony. I am the Senior Sales Advisor based at Windmill Lodge, Lytham St. Anne's. My role is to support families from their enquiry stage through to admission of their loved ones whether that is for Respite or a more permanent residency. As part of this role, I also work with Professionals who can help relatives through the process and ensure a smooth and stress-free transition.


The rewarding nature of the role allows me to help relatives and loved ones through the most challenging decision they may take in relation to a loved one, and then see their loved one flourish here.


I have enjoyed the rewarding nature of the care industry during my time supporting adults with Autism and seeing how their own transitions to gaining more independence and new skills are unique and inspiring to me and I’m sure others too. This has led me to make a full career change and become focused on care services and seeing relatives and loved ones who choose to reside here gain more independence and benefit from the sense of community that the home provides.


I decided to make the change over to Athena Healthcare because they have wonderful reviews and read about the amazing experiences that relatives and loved ones have had. I deeply believe in the progress so far and the future of the home going forward and providing the best care services for your loved ones.


During downtime, I spend time with my wife, and long walks and I like to take my camera out for some landscape photography. I also do love Starbucks regularly too.
