The Wickets

(Opening Dec 2025)
3 Banister Road, Southampton SO15 2EN
  • The Wickets, Southampton
The Wickets on Banister Road, Southampton will be opening its doors in Spring 2026 and will provide individually tailored care in luxurious surroundings. When complete, the home will deliver permanent and short-term nursing and residential care, and specialist dementia care for up to 80 older people.

Each of the 80 bedrooms will be beautifully furnished, individually decorated and have its own ensuite wet room. The ground floor rooms will have direct access to beautifully landscaped secure gardens. The home will also have a coffee shop, cinema room and hair and beauty salon, as well as extensive gardens and outdoor spaces.

Gardening, cooking, themed parties, cheese and wine afternoons, quizzes, barbecues, music and exercise sessions – there’ll be something for everyone. Does your loved one have a favourite hobby that they’d like to continue? Perhaps there’s a pastime they’d like to try? Do they have a wish they’d like to fulfil? The team at Southampton Care Home will make it happen.

While the home will run various daily small group activities, they appreciate that some people prefer to spend time one-to-one. The compassionate and engaging team will ensure that there’s always time for your loved one. If they would like to continue attending a local church, club or group, the team will support them to do so, or to enjoy pub lunches or shopping trips.

If you’re wondering what will be on the menu in the new care home, it all comes down to what your loved one enjoys. The chef-led catering team will create a variety of tempting and nutritious options for each meal, all tailored to residents’ tastes. The head chef will meet your loved one when they move in, and learn about their favourite foods. The team receives the latest training in catering for all dietary needs, including modified diets, and cultural and religious dietary requirements.
