My name is Tasha, and I am the Deputy Manager here at the beautiful Willowbrook View.

I love being a Deputy Manager because no two days are the same, and I am passionate about ensuring our residents receive the highest level of care here within our home. I am motivated by seeing the smiles on your loved ones' faces, whether that be a thank you for a cup of tea or a smile because we have gone above and beyond.

I am also passionate about ensuring our residents receive exceptional personalised care from the moment they step foot into Willowbrook View to the moment they leave us.

I have worked in care now for coming up to 14 years having gained my Level 2 and 3 in health and social care and having recently gained my Level 5 management and leadership in adult social care. I have always been involved and around care from a young age and I have both my parents to thank for that.

I love my role because it allows me to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives every day. Creating moments of joy and connection for residents and their families is a key part of my role and is incredibly rewarding.

I take pride in creating events that bring comfort, happiness, and a sense of community, knowing that even small gestures can have a big impact. It’s a privilege to be part of such a rewarding and compassionate environment.

I’m most looking forward to bringing my creativity and sense of fun to the role, creating unique and engaging experiences that cater to all abilities and create lasting memories. With my passion for well-being and engagement, I aim to create events that enrich residents’ lives both emotionally and socially. I am committed to understanding individual needs and ensuring every resident feels supported and part of a caring community.

Before working in the care industry, I was a team manager for a retail store, where I honed my organisational and leadership skills. While I enjoyed working with people and creating a positive environment, my true passions were realised in my leadership of in-store events, engagement, and well-being.

I wanted to transition into a role where I could create a truly meaningful difference in people’s lives, which has led me to the care industry and to the Events Manager role. I feel this will be an incredibly rewarding change.

To me, the most important part of a Care Home is the residents and their families. I like to feel that with my help, new residents starting their next chapter have a smooth transition and their loved ones' concerns and worries are put at ease. My Mother is in a care home I can see from both sides how a good care home should operate.

I love a “to-do” list and even more, I love to tick the items off the list. Being organised is part of my day-to-day life - not just at work. It gives me great satisfaction to know that keeping on top of everything ensures, that with my help, the Home will run efficiently and smoothly.

Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Joined: 2025

Having retired from a successful 30-year public sector career in 2023, I decided to take a position as a maintenance and compliance person within a large care home. I quickly realised how varied the care environment is and how rewarding the personal interaction is with all the people I meet.

Even though I have only worked in care for just under a year I was delighted to be nominated for recognition at a Regional British Care Awards;

At Willowbrook View I support the safety and smooth running of building maintenance and compliance, making a difference to all future residents and their families.
