I am delighted with every aspect of the care my husband is receiving at Northcare Residences. It was very difficult for me to have him become a resident in a Care Home but I can honestly say NR has gone above and beyond my expectations The staff are excellent and his quality of life has improved due
to the attention he is receiving. He is encouraged to engage in the planned activities when he feels like it. NR is very sociable and family and friends are made to feel very welcome. I am secure in the knowledge that he is in the best place suited to his needs.

My mother moved into Northcare Residence in mid-November after a lengthy period of hospitalisation, which had left her incredibly weak and medically vulnerable. For the last month and a half, the care she has received has been nothing short of excellent and her health has been nurtured back to a sustainable
level. The staff are so attentive to the point where we can clearly see their individual relationships forming with Mum and, on a more personal note, with ourselves as a family. The reassurance this gives us is immeasurable! The home environment is beautiful, immaculately clean and it's quite apparent that nothing is too much for the staff. We are genuinely delighted by our whole experience so far, principally because we can see how genuinely comfortable and settled Mum has become in such a relatively short period of time.

My grandmother stayed at Northcare Manor for two weeks in November for respite care, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience. The staff were incredibly attentive and compassionate, ensuring she felt comfortable and well looked after throughout her stay. The facilities were clean, modern,
and welcoming, creating a homely atmosphere that made her feel at ease.
The care team went above and beyond to cater to her needs, providing excellent support while also encouraging her to join activities and socialise with other residents. It gave our family peace of mind knowing she was in such capable hands.
We would highly recommend Northcare Manor to anyone seeking quality respite care for their loved ones.

Mother seems to have settled in well with pictures of her taking part in the afternoon activities in the recent Newsletter. Good to see that she is being encouraged to be mobile with her Zimmer frame, which was sadly lacking in her stay in the hospital after her hip fracture. Hopefully, she will continue
to engage with the other residents and staff as she becomes more familiar with her surroundings. Staff seemed well trained and motivated to ensure that the residents are made as comfortable as possible and are encouraged to be mentally and physically active where possible.

My father is fortunate to have been once of the first residents at this beautiful new nursing home. We were able to set up his room so it is as much 'home-from-home' as is possible. The welcome he has been given has been wonderful. The help and consideration to us as family throughout the process excellent.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.8 (8.760) out of 10 for Northcare Residences, Glasgow is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.881 for Northcare Residences, Glasgow is calculated as follows: ( (52 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.881

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.879 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Northcare Residences, Glasgow is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 66 registered maximum number of service users is 13.2. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 13.2 = 0.379

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
