Burlingham House is a beautiful historic Manor House, nestled within the Norfolk countryside.

The team is proud to offer comprehensive services tailored to meet diverse needs, including Residential and Dementia Care for long-term residents, and Respite options for short-term support and day-to-day needs.

There are lifts to all floors, wheelchair access, latest nurse-call system, hairdressers and a beauty treatment room, as well as a cinema room which is one of the home's most popular features. All rooms have phone points and radio / TV points, and each resident has their own ensuite wet room.

The home offers a range of services to suit your requirements; the residential service provides first-rate care for those who need security and extra help with their day-to-day living and companionship; short-stay care is available for those who need convalescence following an accident or illness or for those who need a well-deserved break.

This palliative care is aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, their family, carers and friends.

Alongside the beautiful Manor House, the Woodland Wing is the new facility offering purpose-built spacious bedrooms. Some have private access to a secured garden. All the bedrooms and lounges have views of the garden or the beautiful woodland.

In addition to the beautiful surrounding gardens there are two secured and safe gardens which residents are able to enjoy and there is a garden in the raised beds.

My aunt was admitted to Burlingham House in July 2020 following a capability assessment by the council. She was looked after, from the start, very well and settled in easily and she soon accepted being there. At that time her memory loss was only limited, so her move could have been problematic but
it was not.
She has been very well cared for right up to the time of her decline in the last few months and death on 27th September at the age of 101. Last year, when she had her 100th Birthday, Burlingham staff made a great effort to arrange a party for her and for all the residents, including laying on an opera singer - as my aunt was a keen member of a choir when younger. My aunt was single and none of her family lived close, so Burlingham staff became her family. In her last days, they and the local doctor worked together to ensure that she was in minimal pain and discomfort. Many of her relations were able to visit her in this time and to say goodbye. A big thank you!

My mum has been at this care home over a month now mum has been looked after by the staff . Who are all very friendly and helpful. It's a lovely home and the staff are always helpful and kind.
The place is very clean and there is plenty of room for the residents to move around or they can sit and chill.
There
are daily activities to do if they wish.
We are pleased we made the correct decision and have no regets.

I have had a very positive experience with Mum's care at Burlingham House
for the last four months.
The managers and carers are very professional, caring and friendly,
nothing is too much trouble they never complain about my numerous questions
and needs for Mum.
The food is to a high standard
and when Mum is not feeling hungry, they
will try and prepare something specially for her.
I can relax and know Mum is being very well cared for.
Cannot thank them enough.

My husband was a resident in Burlingham House for 2 months before he passed away. We were both well cared for I cannot praise the carers enough. When I visited they always greeted me by my Christian name. When he became quite frail I didn't want to leave him and in his last few days they arranged for
me to stay near him. I was always looked after well. There were always lots of activities going on for the residents. We had a lovely Christmas Day dinner and Christmas party. Children from a nearby school came in to sing carols on one of the days leading up to Christmas. I cannot praise them enough, carers and managers.

Having previously had experience working in several homes within Norfolk, I can confidently say this care home is one of the best I have visited. All the staff are very friendly and are always ready to have a chat and a laugh with both residents and their relatives. They are all very welcoming and well-trained
to do the job. The home itself is very homely, especially with all the recent refurbishments. The kitchen staff provide excellent food with a great variety. The maintenance team do a great job keeping the home clean and maintained. Activities coordinators keep the residents busy with a different variety of activities including 1:1. Also decorating the home for different events/seasons etc which is nice to see. I would definitely recommend this care home.

My mum lives at Burlingham House and I live in the US. I cannot speak highly enough of the team of caregivers and the quality of service she receives. The communication is excellent and I always feel informed about what is happening with her care.
On a recent visit, I was impressed to learn we could
visit at any time. Every visit my Mum was well cared for, in clean clothing and engaged in great activities. Despite her advanced dementia, she is still able to bake and enjoy her time. Every staff member we encountered was caring and seemed to know Mum well as an individual.
This is a caring, clean, person centered environment! The staff have a wonderful sense of humour and I really enjoyed my visits to Mum. It left me feeling peaceful knowing she is well cared for.

Burlingham House Care Home has provided very good care for my mother over the past few years and I would recommend it to anyone considering residential care for a loved one. Burlingham House have worked with my mother to get her back to the point where she can return home to live with me and my partner.
She was in a very poor state when she first went there and thanks to them, she is back on track. Care staff are very friendly and do go above and beyond. My mum became quite attached to certain members of staff, as they became attached to her. She will return for respite care at some point in the future as I know she will be in safe hands there. I would say I built up a very strong relationship with the manager, in particular. She was always responsive to my emails, calls, requests and any suggestions.

The staff at Burlingham House are very kind, caring and approachable. They take great care of each resident, building good relationships with them and their families. I feel that my brother is very well cared for and liked, he is encouraged to take part in daily activities with staff and other residents.
Which he enjoys.
The staff also arrange other activities for the residents and their families for example; A BBQ, Afternoon Tea, singers and other entertainment etc.
Should I have any concerns I am able to discuss with any member of staff and feel listened to and receive support when needed. I know my brother is safe and well cared for.

My father was a resident at Burlingham House for just over 2 years, until his death earlier this year and I cannot praise the staff at the home enough for the excellent care they gave to him.
When it became obvious that my father's Alzheimer's meant he could no longer remain in his own home, we worried
about him being admitted to a care home. However, all our concerns were unfounded once he moved to Burlingham House, he loved this place and actually thought he was staying in a posh hotel!
All the staff are lovely and it was obvious they cared about all the residents. We were warmly welcomed when we visited (there was always tea and biscuits or cake for us too!). During Covid, we were kept updated, with phone calls and video calls so we could keep in touch. They also run a wonderful social media page, full of photos & updates so we could see what he was up to.
Overall, I would highly recommend Burlingham House.

I can’t praise Burlingham House enough. The managers and all the staff are first class. They work as a team and are carers in the true sense of the word. As families, we are kept updated with our loved one's health, and the Facebook page is a real blessing in these troubled times. No matter who answers
the phone, they always know what your relative has been up to and how they are. They involve residents in so much to keep them motivated each to their own ability. As a family, we are now content in the knowledge that my husband is happy after two previous failures! Lastly the food! Always looks beautifully presented and mealtimes are a joy. Keep up the good work, guys. You so deserve!

My mother was a resident of this wonderful care home for six years. The staff were all very friendly, caring, often going the extra mile. it is extremely clean and homely, with lovely gardens. The food was always home-cooked and well presented and adapted to the individual requirements and tastes. My
family was always made very welcome. We would recommend this home for all your care needs as care is what they do, even for the end of life. Nothing is too much trouble.

My father-in-law will be 100 at the end of this year. He has been in this care home since August last year and has been shown nothing but respect in all of his personal care needs. Each member of staff is always welcoming, a cup of tea is always on offer, they even offer you to stay for a meal. I have
heard stories from strangers about various care homes, of how they smell and how informal they are, we have no worries here at Burlingham House on such issues, quite the opposite I'm glad to say. Dad was a loner just sitting watching TV before but the staff here have encouraged him into doing activities which he would never have done before which is good for his wellbeing. He would not still be with us if it wasn't for the dedication of these wonderful caring people so well done to management.

Mum has been a resident in Burlingham House for the last 5 months. From the first initial visit to the current day, the standard of care and compassion and commitment to the residents has been consistently impressive. Every single member of staff is so patient and caring and do everything they can to
make residents comfortable, content and safe. Bedrooms are well decorated (to the resident favourite colour), food choice is excellent and delicious and the home, in general, is well presented and clean with good facilities. All staff are so friendly and welcoming and I cannot rate them highly enough.

We had to put my Father in Burlingham House in January. Since then the staff and management have been magnificent. Nothing is too much trouble for them to make the residents feel comfortable and at home. Some residents, like my Father, have dementia and the patience of the staff is brilliant. They also
keep the families informed of any problems no matter how small. They also actively encourage residents families to join in all activities they put on for the residents. I would fully recommend Burlingham House to everybody.

My mother went to Burlingham House at the age of 96. She spent six happy years there and was cared for until she was 102. Her carers were excellent over the six years and as a family, we feel her life was extended by her years at Burlingham House.

I was free to come and visit anytime and also received

support from staff at certain times. Management always made themselves available to discuss her care at short notice.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.722)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.722) out of 10 for Burlingham House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.904 for Burlingham House is calculated as follows: ( (95 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.904

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.818 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Burlingham House is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 49 registered maximum number of service users is 9.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.8 = 0.918

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
