Heathlands Care Home is a modern, purpose-built nursing home in a residential area of Chingford.

Set within its own private landscaped garden, Heathlands has been carefully designed to offer all the advanced facilities of a modern care home while retaining a warm, relaxed and homely feel.

Heathlands offers nursing, short-term and palliative care, as well as secure and compassionate care for residents living with dementia. Each floor has its own dedicated team of nursing and care staff that are on hand 24/7. With a keyworker system, residents will always have a friendly and familiar face looking out for them.

The home has 84 spacious ensuite bedrooms that are spread over three floors. Each room is comfortably furnished and equipped with a TV, nurse-call system and an adjustable automatic bed. There is also plenty of space for wheelchairs, if required. Residents can personalise their room with their own pictures, photographs, accessories and small items of furniture, creating their own special home-from-home.

On every floor, there is a dining room and lounge where residents can gather for meals, group activities, socialise or sit quietly, if they prefer.

My mother receives good care and is comfortable. My only real problem is that most of her clothes seem to have gone missing despite my wife putting names on them.
The staff are all very friendly.
Her food seems good too.

Our elderly aunt had a nasty fall and moved from rehabilitation into Heathlands Nursing Home in July this year. The manager was very supportive and helpful. The transition was really smooth and she has settled quickly into her new surroundings. Our aunt has a good-sized room with its own toilet and
is very well looked after. The staff are lovely. All of our aunt’s clothes are beautifully laundered and the food is great too. Our aunt is thriving there and thinks of it as her home. All of her complex medical needs are being well managed by the home along with the weekly visit from the GP. Recently, the optician visited the home and my aunt was helped to have an eye test and choose new glasses. Overall, we are very pleased with Heathlands as a home for our aunt.

I am very satisfied with the care provided to my mother at Heathlands. The staff are very caring and she has been well looked after during the 3 years she has lived there. I have been especially grateful that she has been at Heathlands during the past 18 months especially when visiting was not possible.
Knowing that the staff engage well with Mum and she is being well cared for has made a big difference to us. If I have any concerns they are always addressed straight away and whenever I leave I feel grateful that she is there being looked after.

In my opinion, Heathlands Care Home is a well-run establishment.
The management and staff are very courteous, friendly and helpful.
The carers and nurses looking after my wife are very considerate and care for all the patients in a professional way and are amazing in the way they go about with their
tasks.
The catering is very good, providing an excellent choice of menu.

Words are not enough to say how much love, care and dignity they gave my mum in her last weeks. In fact, my mum kept asking "why are they all treating me with so much care and love" which was great for me and my family to hear. My heartfelt thanks to all the care home workers and the lady who brought
the clean laundry back to Mum and all the other carers whose names unfortunately I cannot remember but you all know who you are. The care given eased my stress and gave me time just to be with Mum and talk about the old days and have a laugh rather than having to look after her myself and not be able to give her the care the home gave her.

On the first visit we were shown around the home without any appointment which was good - we saw it as it is. From then on it was always a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from all levels of staff from reception onwards. The cleaners and carers were always around and nurses made time to speak to us
even though they were busy in their office or doing their rounds. Rooms were good and corridors were always clean with windows open, a pleasant aroma every time. I am confident that we chose the best.

My father was a resident for six years and always expressed how he loved the place and the staff. He enjoyed joining in with all the activities and outings. The food was good, as evidenced by ourselves attending garden parties and Christmas dinners. The care was excellent throughout the six years, and
during his end of life care, both he and I were treated with the utmost respect and dignity by the manager and all of his team.

My mum had been at Heathlands for a year when she received end of life care. As always the staff were there to support both of us. She was kept beautifully clean and comfortable throughout, with a nurse continuously monitoring her. At the end, I was staying overnight and the staff always made sure I
was comfortable. When the end came the night nurse was exceptional, initally supporting me and carrying out checks.
From my first visit, I knew it was where I wanted Mum to be. It was very clean with none of the 'care home smells' I had experienced at other homes. The manager was, and continued to be, very approachable and supportive.
The care team were always happy, joking with Mum and sitting having a cup of tea with her, she was always called by her name and talked to quietly and calmly.
The personal care she received was outstanding, always being clean and wearing clean clothes with her hair brushed, and being made comfortable.
At all times she was treated with kindness and dignity.

I placed my mother for a respite and she was well taken care of. When I called her every day, she constantly expressed to me the tender care that she was experiencing. I would place my mother here again. The manager took the time to speak to me in the depth of what my mother's needs were, and they will
be met. He and his staff never disappoint me. A real nice place that takes a professional, caring attitude.

My mother came into the care home on 21st April 2020 straight from the hospital. It was an extremely challenging time and not only did the manager and staff find time for my worries and concerns, they went above and beyond what we could have expected. My brother has been resident in Heathlands only since 14 July 2020. I visited him in his room on 15 July and again yesterday on 5 August in the lounge and garden for one hour. On both occasions, I was properly kitted out with PPE. COVID-19 has severely restricted visits, so I cannot comment on all the
options below. In my short and limited experience, I have found everyone and everything to be extremely reassuring. All the staff I have met have been professional, caring and friendly. Given his condition, my brother is mostly content. On the phone, and in person, I have been given kind and unhurried attention to discuss any concerns. I know my brother is in an excellent place.

My son was on palliative care when admitted. He was well looked after, although, his various disabilities made care very difficult. The staff and management were excellent, very supportive and proactive, and I thank them sincerely. I certainly would recommend the home without reservation.

My mum had been in Heathlands Care Home for two years. Passed away two days ago, surrounded by family, nurses and carers. This home is amazing the staff, nurses and carers are excellent.
We as a family visited, and spent hours with mum, every day, we joined in with everything. The care and compassion
she received was just outstanding. They will be our friends always.

Just to express how much Heathlands care home has changed for the better especially with the leadership and clinical leads.
My mother is well cared for and the carers and nurses on her unit really put my mind at ease when I'm not there.
Whilst visiting my Mum, regularly I see how attentive the carers
are and they know Mum's favourite things, Mum can be very difficult at times but the carers especially a regular few who Mum really likes.
This home in the last 12 months has been well led and makes such a difference.
I can approach them anytime and things are dealt with very promptly.
