Over the six years my brother has been a resident at Chase Park Neuro Centre, the staff have learnt to adapt and respond to his specific needs and have also made us feel as though we are part of the 'family', that is Chase Park's strength. We are so very grateful that they all kept my brother and all
residents and visitors safe and cared for during the pandemic. It has been a very hard time for carers, taking the place of family when we could not be there. Yet they are still smiling! Thank you all for the super Platinum Jubilee party - getting us all back together in happiness and fun. You're stars.

Reply from Jane Webber, Registered Manager at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you so much for the lovely review, I will pass it to all staff who will be delighted with the recognition you have given them. The party was a great success and it was so nice to all be able to share together. We are looking forward to more events over the summer.

My husband, who is a resident in Chase Park Neuro Centre, had his 60th birthday. The family liaison person made the experience for me, my husband and family a lovely experience. She went above and beyond making it an enjoyable time. It meant a lot that my husband could celebrate his birthday with us
and it's the personal touch that makes all the difference and contributes to my husband's well-being.

Since my friend arrived at Chase Park Neuro Centre in November 2021, the staff involved in his around the clock care have been outstanding. All of the staff, including physios, support workers, one-to-one support workers and management, are always approachable and go over and above to give my friend
the highest level of care. The progress I have seen over the past five months in my friend is remarkable. The physiotherapy has without a doubt helped him and having the offer of hydrotherapy several times per week has also played a key part in his recovery.

Reply from Jane Webber, Registered Manager at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you for the kind words. It is so nice to see the progress he is making.

My Dad has lived at Chase Park Neuro Centre for over ten years now due to a brain injury and as my dad needed specialist care, I can honestly say that I am so pleased I chose Chase Park Neuro Centre for him to live. Chase Park Neuro Centre excels in every way and they have made my dad's journey as comfortable
as possible. Not only do they care in a practical sense for their own client and give them the very best of care but they also care in the respect that they help to maintain family connections too and they truly understand the importance of this. I can’t thank everyone at Chase Park Neuro Centre enough for providing the excellent level of care they have provided for my dad for over ten years and for being a truly wonderful team. Chase Park Neuro Centre offers the very best of care to its clients in the respect of being a specialist care home but it is also the hearts of those who work there that make the place feel like home. Chase Park Neuro Centre is more than just a care home, it is a home that cares.

Reply from Jane Webber, Registered Manager at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you so much for such lovely words. I know I speak for all when I say it is an absolute privilege to be part of your Dad's journey.

In December my Dad became ill and we realised there was nothing more we could do for him. It was one of the worst experiences of my life and struggled with the whole situation until the end. Thankfully the staff at Chase Park were absolutely brilliant. They made sure my Dad was as comfortable as he
could be and gave him the best care they could. You could see how much they cared for my Dad and how much it was affecting them all. They also took great care of my brothers and I. We stayed with my Dad all the time until the end and everyone made sure we were well looked after. Anything we needed, even a chat someone was always there with us. In the most difficult situation, they made it that little bit easier and I will forever be grateful for what they did for my whole family.

Reply from Jane Webber, Registered Manager at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you so much for taking the time to give us such a lovely review. I will pass on to staff who will appreciate your very kind words. It was our honour and privilege to get to know your dad and his family. He was so proud of his boys and will be fondly remembered by us all, may he Rest in Peace.

My partner went into Chase Park Neuro Centre for respite care but unfortunately deteriorated due to Parkinson’s and dementia. The staff tried all ways to encourage dietary intake from chef to care staff encouraging her. The care she received was personal to her needs and nothing was too much trouble,
treating her with dignity and respect. The support for the family was very much appreciated.

Reply from Paul Smith, Operations Director at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you, and please accept our condolences. I followed events very closely and know that every consideration was given and that everyone felt your loss. It was our honour to provide the care, comfort and ultimately the goodbyes that were so richly deserved. RIP.

My dad has lived at Chase Park Neuro Centre for a number of years now. He is totally reliant on the staff caring for him as he is bed bound. I can't visit him as often as I would like as I have my own family of three young children to help care for and work full-time also. My mam works part-time and
helps look after the children too on her days off. Therefore we have to ensure that my dad gets the best possible care that he can and Chase Park is just the place that gives this to him. The staff are so nice and you can tell when talking to them that they care deeply about my dad and want to give the best possible care that they can. They always pop into his room to say hello, they just show that they care also. My dad's life is dismal but the affection this home shows him helps make up for what he is missing. I can't thank them enough. They take away the guilt that I feel not being able to see him. So, thank you so much each and every one of you.

My dad has been a resident of Chase Park Neuro Centre since April 2019, following a stroke which was a complication of surgery.
We chose Chase Park because we felt my dad had not reached the end of his rehab journey and Chase Park offered rehab as part of the service.
Chase Park staff treat and look
after my dad as an individual. It is not a 'one size fits all' service and his specific needs are identified and addressed.
This is not just limited to my dad's needs but also to our needs as a family processing the experience of having a loved one affected by stroke.
The staff are empathic to both my parents and my family's needs and accommodate them as much as they can. This has been particularly difficult during the social restrictions of Covid, however, my dad has continued to improve and Chase Park facilitated a lovely outdoor celebration of my parents' golden wedding anniversary in June, which we all very much appreciated and enjoyed.
My dad is in safe hands.

Chase Park staff are hardworking and caring; they do all they can to improve the resident's wellbeing. My husband has been in their care for 2 years, and the care he receives is second to none, being encouraged to go to the gym, continuing his rehabilitation and keeping his spirits up. Not being able
to have normal visiting during this time has only been bearable because of the confidence I have in all of the staff and the understanding they have shown me.

My brother is a resident at Chase Park Neuro Centre Whickham. This last year has been so difficult for families, not being able to visit loved ones due to the pandemic and lockdowns. I have always felt reassured and supported by the staff in Chase Park. When I pop over to hand over supplies - I'm met
outside by one of the carers. It's more than handing supplies over though as whoever meets me will always make the time to ask how I am as well as any updates on my brother. It's a comprehensive service caring well our loved ones and supporting us as a family. My brother is receiving the very best of care and knowing he is safe is such a comfort. I also receive phone calls and updates from the family liaison officer based at Chase Park, another link and so important. I have nothing but praise and heartfelt thanks to everyone at Chase Park.

My mam came to be in Chase Park for two weeks of respite care during the pandemic. This was our care home of choice because the family knew this was Covid-19 free due to the proactive arrangements put in place by the management prior to the first lockdown in March 2020. To this day, Chase Park has protected
its residents and remained Covid-19 free, an achievement for which I personally feel they should be recognised in some way. The care given to Mam was exceptional and completely person-centred, allowing her to recover in pleasant surroundings, in the knowledge this was being delivered by caring, compassionate and consummate professional staff. It gave our family complete peace of mind. Communication between Chase Park and the family was easy; whenever we wanted to find out how Mam was doing, we telephoned and within minutes were given up to date information as to how she was doing, without being made to feel as though we were pesmering them. Nothing was a problem for them.

From the moment my father got transferred to Chase Park we have had nothing but a good experience. The first phone call we had with them put my family and I at ease that my father was in the best care
I’m in regular contact with them checking on my dad and the staff are always so friendly and supportive;
especially at the moment as we are unable to visit him due to COVID19
It’s so reassuring that Chase Park are there for our family as well as my father throughout some difficult times.

My nephew became a resident of Chase Park in March 2017. Having acquired a brain injury, he was unable to walk, talk, feed or do anything for himself. This was a very difficult time for all concerned and of the choices put before us as a family, we were given the choice of 3 care homes, two of which
we could not even consider having read reviews. It is important to note that initially we were faced with some very upsetting situations, however, the management reshuffle in 2018 brought about significant changes. The team at Chase Park have totally transformed this place into a caring and friendly establishment where everyone is made to feel at home. The team from Nurses to carers to physios, and everyone else involved including the Cafe staff made our journey as stress free as possible. My nephew is now living in his own home with care support, this could not have been possible without the care and dedication of the fantastic team that are "Chase Park". Amazing!

Reply from Jane Webber, Registered Manager at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you for your kind words. It's good to know that the changes made have been positive. It was a pleasure for us to work with him on his rehabilitation journey and to get to know the family. I will pass on to all the staff who I am sure will appreciate your review.

My cousin has lived in Chase Park Centre now for ten years. I can simply not fault any care she has received. The staff go above and beyond treating my cousin with dignity and respect. She has severe care needs, very little speech, nil by mouth (peg fed), she is wheelchair-bound with no ability to realign
herself if uncomfortable, staff are acutely aware of her needs and when assistance is required.
My mum and I visit my cousin regularly and have a very good relationship with many members of staff, we would not hesitate to bring issues or problems to their attention as we know any problems would be handled swiftly and professionally.

My uncle was in and out of Chase Park from 2014. He had a brain injury due to sudden cardiac arrest and was left fully dependent on day to day living. He went to live at home after the adaptations were done to the house in Dec 2016 but unfortunately 3 care packages later he went back to live at Chase
Park in October 2018 indefinitely.
There had been issues the family weren't happy about in the past at Chase Park up until October 2018 which is when we saw a massive change in the way things were being led. Management is eager to listen to any questions and staff going out of their way to help as much as possible. Credit where it’s due! Unfortunately, my uncle died in December 2018 in hospital after a very short illness. My uncle was a very kind, loving man and a family man and I know if his wife had been able to he would have spent his last days at Chase Park where they thought the world of him. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I will definitely recommend Chase Park for their services.

Reply from Jane Webber, Registered Manager at Chase Park Neuro Centre

Thank you for the positive review, I will pass this to staff who will certainly appreciate your kind words. As you are aware there have been a lot of changes at Chase Park and I am so pleased to hear it has been noticeable to relatives. Our last revue was in February of this year, since then our grandson has passed away in June.
The care that he received [palliative], was excellent by the medical team and the care staff.
He was treated with dignity, respect and affection by all the staff. In his last few days, the whole family were
looked after by all members of staff.
Tea and sympathy were in great supply. We can not thank the staff enough.
We would highly recommend Chase Park to anyone who might be in a similar situation. His needs were met in every way by the caring staff and we are very grateful for that.

My sister has been a client of Chase Park for a lot of years and I have always found her care to be fantastic and in the last year or so, the standard of care has been exemplary. I find all staff are very easy to talk to and are always more than happy to help in any way they can from management to nurses
to care to domestic, the staff have been extremely supportive as we approach the end with my sister. The respect and dignity that is shown to my sister and to us as a family has surpassed anything we expected. Facilities are fantastic with a lot of choices for holistic therapies. A massive thank you from all of us and could not recommend this place enough.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.973)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.973) out of 10 for Chase Park Neuro Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.873 for Chase Park Neuro Centre is calculated as follows: ( (55 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 63 Ratings = 4.873

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.1 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chase Park Neuro Centre is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
