My mother has been a resident on the Oakfield Floor of Albany Lodge for nearly 3 years now. I want to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to the nurses and carers for the patience, comfort and dignity provided since she arrived especially over these past 10 months which must have been so scary through
this awful pandemic. Sadly, she has been unable to communicate since she arrived but I hope deep down she has the awareness that she has such lovely kind people caring for her.

I can't praise the staff enough for their caring, professional approach to every aspect of my cousin's care; as he was a challenging resident. The staff ensured his final days were pain-free and dignified. The cleanliness and meal facilities are fantastic, as are the staff. If you're looking for somewhere
for your loved one, I would definitely recommend it.

I am pleased with the service that is provided to my husband who is now in Albany Lodge.
The nursing staff, carers are excellent in caring for all his needs, physical, emotional and mental. I also want to thank the admin staff, the receptionist and activities coordinator for making my husband's stay
pleasant. They are always there to listen to me when I speak to them and reassure me of his care. I wish them all the best in 2020. Thank you.

All the staff that I have come across are wonderful to me and what I have seen is the care of each person. I say this because many years in the late 1970s I started nursing. I did 2 yrs and came out. My stomach could not take watching operating in theatre. My mum was a nursing assistant in a nursing
home and my sister that followed me is a nurse, not because she is my sister she was very good of her work, she could eat and dress a sore. Your staff that I came across sisters/nurses/the cook/the cleaner etc very good.

After three months in hospital, following a serious infection and a stroke, our mother was moved from hospital to Albany Lodge in September 2019. She is mainly bedbound. The management team and all the staff there made it very easy for us to manage the transition and have provided a lovely room for
our mother. Every aspect of her experience in Albany Lodge has been very good. The nursing staff have been very kind and considerate to her and the care staff have been brilliant, especially at mealtimes. The room is kept neat and tidy and Mum is always kept comfortable. There is a warm atmosphere at Albany Lodge, which resonates well with our mum's character, so that, although she is quite frail, her personality is able to still shine through and this is encouraged, which is great for Mum and also for us, her children, to see.

Mum is 99 and moved to Albany Lodge in early July. Since her arrival, she has been very well looked after and the caring staff are excellent. Mum's health has deteriorated and the care has evolved to become palliative care. The home has kept us advised and is always available to chat and update when
we visit. It is friendly, efficient and professional and caring place. We are very lucky having mum at such a good and compassionate establishment. Thank you.

I have been to the home to visit my friend's mother a few times and each time I have been thoroughly impressed with the care and compassion shown not only to my friend's mother but also to us as we often become emotional. It is a lovely welcoming environment.

It was a very emotional decision to put nan in a care home. Albany Lodge made the whole process less stressful for our family and I couldn't wish for a better home for my nan.
All down to the staff, facilities and I have every confidence when I leave nan that she is well taken care of.

My dad has been at the care home for over two months now, he can be very difficult at times but all the staff are very patient with him. They are all very nice to talk to and make me very welcome when I come to visit my dad and keep me updated on dad's hospital appointments and day to day care.

Should I ever need the care and attention that the home provides for my wife I would not hesitate to make the necessary arrangements for myself.
The home is always clean, bright and airy; the food is much better than average. The staff try their hardest to care for the residents, not always an easy
task.
I visit most days and see how the general running of the home is carried out. Also, there is a program of things set up for those residents that are able to take part.
The staff listen and take note of how things can be marginally be improved, as they are already extremely very good. A visit is always possible and recommended for anyone thinking of a residency.

I've got a real passion for elderly care/dementia. I have been in and around care homes since I was really young, with my Mum being a home manager.


My Grandad had Lewy Body Dementia & Parkinson's and required support in a nursing home, so I am very aware of the stress that a resident’s family can have.


I aim for all our residents to be cared for in the way I would have liked my Grandad to be cared for. I use this as my daily motivation to ensure we deliver high-quality, person-centred care for all our residents here at Albany Lodge.

My name is Lea, and I work as a receptionist here, at Albany Lodge Nursing Home. Although I have only been with the team for four weeks, I have enjoyed working alongside such kind and lovely people each day. Meeting all our lovely residents is such a joy.


I have had a long career within the care sector for over 20 years. I started my career in 2003 as a health care assistant and then became a carer. I then went on to be an activities coordinator. I have worked and studied hard to work my way up the ranks, such as senior healthcare assistant, and then become a team leader.


After many years in different roles within the care sector, I became a receptionist/administrator, which I really enjoy.
