The Belvedere is situated in Alderley Edge, Cheshire and specialises in nursing dementia care for up to 41 residents.

The Home three storey purpose built home opened in June 2009 with the comfort of each resident in mind. Belvedere has a lounge on each floor, including a dining room with kitchen facilities, comfortable seating and opulent decor. There are also two snoozlem areas and a secure garden.

The Belvedere works closely with its neighbour, Cavendish Court who have the same owners, which allows both homes to maintain a flexible service in relation to individual needs and contact with numerous health experts.

All residents receive their own care packages in order to ensure they receive the health, attention and dietary requirements that health professionals indicate will improve their well-being.

It's very difficult when your husband needs to move into care and your way of living changes radically, for both of you. The Belvedere is helping us with this transition process. I know my husband is well looked after and safe. I visit daily and am impressed by the staff, both in giving me information
and accepting information/ideas from me. It feels open, friendly and receptive. The nursing staff are professional and attentive to individual needs. I feel that they know him well already.

The new manager is putting in place many improvements that can be seen and ensuring that residents are at the centre of all changes. The home is a much happier and more positive place, after the inaccessibility during Covid. Staff seem to be increasing and show care for the residents. In the past, I
felt the home was understaffed and the place looked unloved. My sister has always seemed happy and cared for although under last management, many personal things were lost (eg. teeth, glasses and pants) and enquiries by the family were not dealt with.

I cannot praise this home enough. The standard of care is excellent, my mother is a resident there and has been for two years. The standard of communication is excellent. Even through Covid times when we couldn't visit, we had video calls and plenty of updates. The management and staff there feel like
family and nothing is too much trouble. I would not have my mother go anywhere else, she loves it there and has come on in leaps and bounds since being placed there.

My father was admitted to The Belvedere during Covid in June 2020. He suffered from Parkinson's and dementia and the staff were amazing. Within days, we knew he was going to be in good hands and we were not disappointed. Despite all the additional problems they had to cope with, we were always kept
informed and updated. Sadly, he passed away recently and on behalf of all the family, I would like to thank the entire team for taking care of him, I would not hesitate to recommend The Belvedere as the perfect home for loved ones who suffer from dementia.

After a succession of short-lived managers, The Belvedere has been held up only by its host of dedicated carers and nurses, an absolute credit to the home who have worked tirelessly throughout the pandemic. The most recent CQC report awards a ‘good’ for the care and an ‘RI’ for the leadership. I think
this has been an accurate reflection and would agree with this rating. If the trajectory of recent improvements continues then I would anticipate Good/outstanding across the board. In addition to the superb care team, the home now has a wonderful new manager, supported by a fabulous deputy and friendly admin support. The home finally feels like someone at the helm cares. Communication has improved exponentially, and there is now a buzz of positivity. From a relative’s (and I’m sure my mum would agree) point of view, the new manager’s obvious passion for the best in dementia care is an absolute joy and relief.

My mother entered The Belvedere in July of this year after being in a nursing house for five years with full dementia; the nursing home closed down. She was welcomed in, and it was straightforward. She is well looked after. Any concerns, I am informed of. As far as activities are concerned, I am told
this all happened, but I've seen no sign of any when I have visited, and these poor people need all the motivation they can get.

In regards to the activities, I can reassure you those are taking place daily.
We have a blog where we post weekly pictures of some of the events taken place in the home that week. The blog is accessible on the Belvedere care home webpage under news and events.
We are also putting in place an activity folder that will be displayed in the reception with pictures of the events we’ve provided and the engagement of our residents.
Our activities coordinator is now engaged in Christmas decorations engaging all residents in the festive time.

Wonderful visit today to see my auntie for the first time in months. Excellent support and testing to make the visit safe. The staff are amazing. My mother was a resident in The Belvedere for six years until her death in September this year. Neither my sister or I lived locally so our visits were quite spread out.
We were pleased to leave mum's care in the hands of the staff, confident she was in good hands. Unfortunately, we couldn't be there
when mum died but they didn't leave her and she didn't die alone.

My father was in another care home until December 2018. There was an incident and my father, whos is 98, was ejected from the home. There was no backup, care or notes provided. Luckily the manager at Belvedere took my dad and he has had marvellous care and attention. I cannot thank the manager and her
staff enough. My father was a soldier and now has the care he deserves from Belvedere. He has issues but they face them with kindness, I regularly visit and the staff are always so caring. Thank you.
