Reuben Manor sits on the outskirts of the historic market town of Yarm and provides residential and residential dementia care for 83 residents, in modern yet homely, purpose built en suite accommodation.

Well served by public transport including multiple train stations, the area also boasts a selection of amenities including a doctors surgery and local shops. Reuben Manor is committed to providing alternative therapies such as music therapy to help alleviate isolation and the symptoms for those living with dementia.

The home supports everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies. The passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained with a variety of activities. I have been so impressed with the high quality of care that Reuben Manor has provided for my mum. The home has such a warm, bright and welcoming feel. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff, they have provided loving care, help and support not only to mum but to myself over the past 3 years.

Due to covid restrictions, we are unable to visit mum as often as we would like to. Therefore our judgment of no standard of care mum receives is limited. However, we do have concerns over mums basic care needs being met. Examples are: fingernails left unclean, teeth left in overnight, sore on her
arm that staff didn't notice, and mum kept in isolation and not tested for covid daily.

The care and dedication my mom received whilst in Reuben Manor care home was outstanding. Sadly my mom passed away peacefully in the home in February 2022. The commitment of the staff whilst my mom was very poorly went beyond just care. I will always be grateful for the help and attention to detail

Mum has been a resident of Reuben Manor for over four years and the care that she has received throughout this time has been superb. The dedicated staff are always cheerful and provide care to the highest of standards. The meals are varied and always enjoyed by Mum. The decor and furnishings within
the home are very tasteful and the lovely gardens are maintained beautifully.

We have only been involved with Reuben Manor for a couple of months. Staff and management have gone out of their way to make sure my sister has settled in. Her care is second to none. Food is generally very good but maybe a change from custard every day would be nice!

When it became apparent that Mum needed additional care, Reuben Manor was the first home that we viewed. It was obvious, immediately, that there was no need to look any further. Beautifully furnished and decorated with excellent facilities. It has such a happy, calming ambience. Varied, interesting
activities are planned for the residents which promote their individual interests and a varied, delicious menu. The staff are extremely professional, kind, caring and provide amazing care to Mum, who initially, enjoyed a couple of weeks of respite care and as a consequence decided that she was happy to make Reuben Manor her home. Mum has now been a resident for almost four years and has met many lovely residents. She absolutely loves her room, which she decided to part furnish with treasured, personal memories. Knowing that Mum is happy and well cared for is so reassuring. A huge thanks to all of the dedicated team who go above and beyond.

Having lived most of her life in Eaglescliffe, Reuben Manor was the perfect place for Mum to move into last year when she finally needed full-time care and it's really close for family visits which is important, especially for my Dad. Since she moved in, she has had the best care that we could wish
for. The staff are all, without exception, professional and genuinely caring and I never worry about how she is being looked after. The manager and her team keep in touch if Mum needs anything or if she isn't well. This is so important, especially at the moment with not being able to visit due to Covid-19. Mum is very happy and settled, she loves the staff, they really look after her and they all seem to laugh a lot which is lovely. Her room is always clean and the laundry is done really quickly. She can't praise the food and chefs enough and the residents' activities are thoughtfully planned. My family are extremely grateful to everyone working there, they do a fantastic job in a very caring way!

I am really pleased with the care that my dad gets from all the staff at Reuben Manor, from the carers to the manger - it is fantastic. Especially with COVID, I have been kept informed about how my dad is doing and had regular video chat calls and I feel they are doing everything to keep him safe. My
dad is always praising the staff on how much they do for him he is really happy there.

I am so, so, impressed with the overall service this care home has to offer. One of the more quality standard care homes in Stockton. The decor is absolutely exceptional, too. We all want the best quality for our relatives and friends as they get older. 20 out of 5. Haha. Other care home managers in
their care homes need to take note. It's refreshing that my friend who moved here tells me that he likes it here, as the other residential care homes he stayed in previously were too scruffy and were in noisy roads, but this care home is in a more peaceful area of Stockton, so it's more relaxing for him. He said he wants to stay here for the rest of his life.

Reuben Manor has a pleasant ambience and my mother's room is comfortable. Unfortunately, since MHA took over the running of the home the standard of food has dropped off considerably - and yet the cost of staying here has risen year on year at rates significantly above inflation, making this poor value
for money. More entertainment within the home and outside would greatly benefit the residents and help to structure their lives.

Thank you for your feedback. At this difficult time activities both within the home and outside have been restricted, however, the team are very proactive in providing the activities, they can, while ensuring social distancing to keep residents safe.


As a charity, we are always willing to listen and take on board constructive feedback in order to consistently review the services we provide. Our charges ensure we bring in sufficient income to cover our running costs. These are compared to the charges made by other similar homes in the area. We don’t have shareholders, so all of our charges, donated income and any surplus is invested into the services we provide. Following guidance from The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) we have adopted a formula for calculating our fee increases, going forward, which we believe gives greater transparency in our budgeting process.

My Dad was admitted to hospital during the Covid-19 lockdown. He was deemed physically fit but diagnosed with dementia and transferred to an assessment home. We found a place in Yarm but unfortunately, after 3 weeks, they felt unable to offer the level of care Dad needs. I was delighted to find that
Reuben Manor offered EMI Dementia Care but nervous at the thought of moving him again.
He has been in MHA Reuben Manor for one week now and, even through the window, I can tell he seems happier and brighter in his new surroundings. His quarantine is over in one week after which we can enjoy ' garden visits ' in their beautiful outside space. I'm looking forward to the day when we can go inside the building and enjoy its facilities with Dad.

I have been impressed by the prompt action taken at the early stages of the current pandemic which has, without doubt, reducing the risk to all residents. As disappointing as it has been not to be able to visit my mother for some weeks now, I appreciate the reasons for this and have been grateful to

My 88-year-old Mum has been a resident since May 2019 and we could not be more delighted with the level of care and support that she has received in that time from the staff and management at Reuben Manor. As a family, we take great comfort that she is now living in such first-class accommodation and
being extremely well looked after, 24 hours a day.
There is a happy and relaxed atmosphere, which is a credit to the team as they are all very friendly and caring. My Mum is very settled and content and enjoys taking part in many of the activities that are arranged for the residents' benefit throughout the week.
Her accommodation is lovely and having some of her own furniture, photographs and ornaments, makes it feel very homely and comfortable. She tells us how lovely the meals are and it is great to know that she has made many new friends. All of this, we feel, has hugely benefited her health and well being in the short time she has been a resident and for this, we are very grateful.

Both my Mother-in-law and Aunt are living in Rueban Manor. The improvement in both their physical and mental well-being since moving there has been incredible. All of the staff genuinely care about the residents there. Nothing is ever too much trouble and they always find time to sit and have a chat
with them. It is always spotlessly clean and the food served according to my mum-in-law and aunt is absolutely delicious. The range of activities available to them are amazing, they are always looking forward to something when we go to visit. They feel like they are staying in a 5*star hotel. They couldn’t be happier.

My mum became a resident of Reuben Manor in July 2019. In the 7 weeks since then the improvement in her well-being, physical state and quality of life has been astounding. The improvement has been commented on by all of my siblings too.
The staff at Reuben Manor show consistent and considered interest
in her, involving her in activities, but (rightly) only those they feel she will be interested in and get real enjoyment from. They do not take her along to anything, they think 'will she enjoy this' and if they think she will, they make every effort to get her along.
My mum comments almost daily about 'how lovely the people are here' and how she 'loves it here'.
Put simply - my family could not be happier with the choice we made to take mum to Reuben Manor.
First-rate.
