I want to thank all the wonderful staff at Harbour Residential Care Centre.
It wasn't really the best time to relocate my father into residential care. When he first moved in, I wasn't even able to visit him. However, I was kept up to date with phone calls, emails and photos, so I knew he was settling
in well. As soon as the government changed the rules, I was invited for a fully Covid-19 safe visit and was so reassured. Dad looked so well cared for (the food is great and there is a good choice at every meal) and he clearly loves all the staff to bits. I visit as often as I can and to be honest, the staff have looked after me too; helping me to come to terms with Dad living with them now and not in his own home. The home is just that, a real home and it makes us all feel that we have made the right decision. There comes a time when a family is not able to give all the expert care needed and I know that my father is getting the very best of care, something that he really deserves.

I would like to thank the staff at Harbour Residential Care Centre who have been looking after my husband for the last seven months. They dealt professionally with his initially very challenging behaviour and when Covid rules relaxed enough for me to visit he seemed very content and happy. He also seemed
to interact well with the staff and looked well cared for, which was a great relief.

From our very first enquiry regarding 'respite' care, at Harbour Residential Care Centre the manager and staff have been very helpful and have done everything they can to accommodate my mother-in-law, following her recent fall and hospital admission, assisting her to get stronger each day with the ultimate
aim of her being able to return to live at home. Communication regarding queries is very prompt. It is a particularly challenging time with the constantly changing Covid 19 restrictions and staff are doing a tremendous effort to keep all residents safe and well.

My Father stayed for a couple of weeks. He enjoyed his stay and was very pleased with everything. He was well cared for, he ate well and enjoyed the entertainment and joined in with the singalongs. He came out of his shell!

I would like to say a big thank you to the manager and the care team for looking after my mum for a respite period of a week. The manager was very reassuring about the safety measures taken to prevent a Coronavirus outbreak and general care home concerns I had. When I visited the home, it was well maintained,
and the residents all looked happy. Mum was very happy during her stay, and this was confirmed by the staff sending me photos and videos of her dancing etc, especially on her birthday when she was presented with a lovely cake. It was very reassuring that I knew my mum was safe and happy in an environment that was unfamiliar to her. I would definitely be booking more respite weekends, and I know that in the long term if mum's condition deteriorates further and long term care is needed, I would have no hesitation in placing her at Harbour care home, knowing she was in safe and caring hands. Well done to all the team and keep up the great work; you are appreciated.

I would like to say that over the last year I have had the privilege of visiting Harbour Residential Care Centre every week. I can only say how utterly impressed I have been with the standard of care. The staff and management provide a loving, caring environment. They ensure that not only are the residents
treated with kindness and compassion, but they are treated like a family. The team give one hundred per cent into giving the residents lovely birthdays, wonderful Christmas party, Valentine's party and just recently a VE Day celebration. I would personally like to thank them for always making me feel very welcome when I visit and of course my afternoon tea and cake. Thank you Harbour Management and team for the wonderful care that you give these most vulnerable people.

I have been very impressed with the professionalism and care the team have shown during the Covid-19 lockdown. I have been able to be in regular contact with Mum, during this difficult time.
I know from speaking to Mum that she has been cared for very well, with the staff being very attentive and communicating
when Mum has needed things got for her.

Mum has been in the home for almost 5 years and is now the eldest resident. We have seen a variety of staff and many managers. The present manager and staff are excellent, some of which knew Mum from when she arrived. We have been impressed with the current situation and Mum is well cared for. The staff
always go the extra mile to care for her. We obviously can’t visit her during these strange times and although we miss her greatly we know she is being well cared for. Thank you and stay safe and watch over each other.

Our friend was accepted into Haven Lodge 9 months ago. Since then he has received excellent care from all staff and manager. Underlying the friendliness and companionship for the residents is a strong sense of professionalism and endeavour to provide care of the highest standard. His health issues are well monitored and the nursing staff keep us informed of his progress. He is very happy there.

My mother has been a permanent resident of Harbour Residential Care Centre for about two years. During that time I have seen many positive changes and improvements and am more than happy with her care. She has numerous conditions and problems which are of considerable concern to myself and the family
and it is so reassuring to know that she is being looked after with great care and courtesy. The staff do an amazing job - long hours and at the moment are at risk themselves during the Coronavirus situation.
I am very confident that she is safe and a record is kept of her care and well-being.

Mum came to stay at the Harbour from another care home that was closing down. I can only say it was extremely fortunate that she came here. From the beginning, she was made to feel welcome. The staff are all friendly and genuinely fond and caring to the residents in there. Mum is very happy, which means
as a family, we have peace of mind. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Harbour, the manager and his staff are truly lovely people.

My father-in-law had never been in a home before and was nervous going into respite but the staff had excellent communication skills and dealt with his Alzheimer's in a professional manner. The management is very approachable and there is a positive but relaxed atmosphere in the home.
My father-in-law
came home after a week confident and happy which is good enough for us and we will be using this home for regular respite.

The staff are all friendly, the place is always spotless. I am relieved to have found this care home for my mother. I feel confident, that she is well looked after. Harbour Residential is by far the best care home I have been in, with the nicest atmosphere. They communicate with me frequently and always

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2021

Having 14 years of experience in the health/social care sector provides me with the necessary grounding and knowledge to embark on this new and exciting journey at Harbour Residential. I have been a qualified nurse since 2007, completing my training at the University of the West of England.


I have held various roles in the NHS at both the Bristol General Hospital and Bristol Royal Infirmary, including as a Senior Staff Nurse and Clinical Site Manager. After 10 years at the NHS, I then transitioned into the care home industry, working at 3 local care homes in Clinical Service Manager and HM roles. I pride myself on achieving and maintaining high ratings with the CQC at all the homes I have worked at. Ensuring the consistent provision of the highest quality care and support possible to residents, staff and relatives is my priority.


It is a privilege to be a part of the Harbour Residential team and I very much look forward to meeting you all.
