I have visited my Grandma several times at the home on the first-floor Dementia unit. Every time I visit care staff are sat at the dining table talking to each other and ignoring residents. Before the inevitable response of "completing paperwork," this could be done sat with residents in the lounge
or involving residents in their paperwork.
People are left sat without stimulation, interaction or care with staff talking to each other. I work in the industry and am confident there is no consideration to Dementia care at this service at all with the care home being based on a religious ideal rather than a specialist care setting to best meet the needs of individuals who require care and support.
There are far better options available, providing excellent care for similar price ranges for private paying customers.

My father was admitted directly from hospital. On arrival, he was given a hot meal made especially for him and was made comfortable in his room. The senior carer and the carers are taking very good care of him, and whenever I visit he is content, clean and presentable - thank you! All the staff throughout
the home seem very skilled and compassionate. This kindness has helped our family tremendously.

This home is misrepresented on their website by stating its a care home for Dementia and having a specialist care category with Alzheimer's. Please note this is not the case! Be very careful when looking at placing a loved one here in the dementia unit as the management suggested my father in law needed
a nursing dementia unit after he was a little challenging some times when it came to personal care. Very disappointed with the standard of care at this facility and lack of training for the dementia unit. I feel they just want residents that just sit all day and are easy to care for. I would like to say thank you to some of the care team who are excellent at their job and have a full understanding of Dementia care needs.

My mother was a resident in Anjulita Court for nearly four years. I held Power of Attorney for her and looked after all her affairs. She died at the end of March, 2019 aged almost 100 years. Throughout her stay she was treated with dignity and respect, and, as an only son, I am immensely grateful to
the Anjulita for the love and support, and care given not only to my mother but to me on the day she died. In particular, the chaplain was unobtrusive but so reassuring. I cannot praise all the staff enough. I would rate the Anjulita as a first class establishment.

Anjulita Court is a lovely place. The overall standard is high. The care support and staff are very friendly and understanding.
The rooms are well maintained, spacious and well kept. Safety and security is a priority. Overall, the place is value for money.

My mother has been in Anjulita Court a few weeks and is still settling in. She has found the experience of having to have 24-hour care quite upsetting but the staff have been very good with her and my sister and I.
We have found this adjustment difficult too and the care team have been very supportive
when we visit. Anjulita Court has a happy, friendly and caring atmosphere.

I have been in this unit for almost 7 years. I sleep well, eat well and have as much freedom as my physical condition allows. We have an excellent Chaplin and carers. I am allowed to play the keyboard at any time and that gives me great pleasure, even if I don't always play the notes in the right order.
So I say three cheers for MHA and NHS

The staff are very caring. The rooms are very comfortable. There are plenty of activities to take part in. The food is good and if you don't like the options on the menu an alternative will be provided. There are plenty of opportunities to socialise.

This home is misrepresented on their website by stating its a care home with nursing and having a specialist care category with Alzheimer's. Please note this is not the case! Be very careful when looking at placing a loved one here in the dementia unit as the manager suggested my mother needed a nursing
dementia unit after having to go to hospital with a UTI! Very disappointed with the standard of care at this facility and lack of management skills.

Anjulita Court is a well run and positive place. There are plenty of activities to keep the residents engaged and my mum especially enjoys the hydro pool. The staff are very professional and helpful and there is a good community feel.

My mother has received excellent care from teams of carers who genuinely seem to enjoy looking after her. Any concerns raised by family members have been swiftly addressed.
My father spent his 'end of life' time and passing away at Anjulita and the care/love shown to us all was very special. We are
so grateful for the determination of staff to see Mum through that difficult time.
The managers a wonderful team and have always made themselves available to meet with family and engage with Mum too.
Anjulita Court is an amazing provision for Bedford and I feel privileged to have been involved with this care home.

My mother was in Anjulita Court for 21 months. She really enjoyed her time there, made many friends and was happy to join in the activities on a regular basis. The facilities were very good and the staff always helpful and caring, even as her health deteriorated due to Alzheimer's and Dementia.
We
were pleased that the managers and staff were able to make it possible for her to return from hospital to spend her last days there in a peaceful and caring environment.

Anjulita Court is a care home set in a modern well-designed building with an attractive garden. The staff are welcoming and caring, treating residents as individuals. The food is good with residents sitting in the dining area or eating in their rooms. Daily activities are provided and services are held
3 times a week.

A well kept care home with caring staff. Turnover of staff is a problem but I believe this not unusual with care homes.

Our mother has been a resident in Anjulita Court for almost 7 months and we have been delighted with both the home itself and the care she is receiving there. She was reluctant to 'give in' and accept that she needed a greater degree of care than we could provide for her at home, but she settled in
very quickly due largely to the welcome she given by the carers, activity staff and even the kitchen staff who came to introduce themselves. She is very happy and well cared for, always looks smart and clean and enjoys all the activities and entertainment offered in the home. Food is good, rooms are spacious and clean and, far from this being the 'institution' one imagines a care home to be,she is enjoying a new lease of life. Her words '"I don't think I could be in a nicer place". Nor do we!!!
