Staff are very friendly and caring. There is a lot of interaction with residents.

Food is prepared on the premises and is of a very good standard.

The pending refurbishment should improve the standard of the bedrooms.

Overall I am very happy that my mother is here and would recommend Park View.

My mother was in Park View for a 4 week convalescence period. I was impressed by the caring attitude of all staff. Without exception, they showed genuine concern for all residents and visitors. The standard of accommodation and meals is top quality and the dedicated 'entertainment ladies' ensure there
is plenty to keep residents engaged. The administration of medicines, hospital visits etc is extremely efficient. Should my mother require full-time care in the future, I would not hesitate in calling on Park View.

I found Park View to be an extremely well run organised and caring environment for my Mum to stay during her convalescence. Medication routine, follow up hospital and GP appointments were all handled very efficiently. All staff showed a genuine caring attitude to residents and visiting friends and family.
If at any point in the future my mother required long-term residential care, Park View would be my first choice.

My dad recently spent 3 weeks here while waiting for carers to be available to visit him at home. This was my first experience of a care home and I was a little apprehensive at first as you hear so many stories about care homes. I needn’t have worried as from the first day my dad arrived I knew he was
in safe hands here as all the staff are lovely and treated my dad with respect and cared for his needs extremely well, actually probably too good as he didn’t really want to leave. My dad is getting older and even with care at home, the time will probably come when he will need to be in a care home permanently and this care home will be our first choice.

Up until recently, my father was a resident, but unfortunately, he passed away at the beginning of May. He had been a resident since January 2017. I cannot praise highly enough the care he received at Park View. Everyone from management, office staff, to cleaners to caregivers really care about the
residents. The care that he received especially at the end of his life was outstanding. Thank you.

My Nanna has recently become a resident at Park View and I can say I am extremely pleased with the level of care she is receiving. She was admitted after having sepsis and she has come on in leaps and bounds since entering the home. She herself is very happy with her surroundings and that is extremely
important to the family.
The staff have bent over backwards to accommodate her in any way necessary including making her different meals to whats on the menu.
I would recommend this home to anyone.

My mother went into Park View as an emergency placement due to an illness. My mother was very sceptical due to the stigmas however recovered well and stated she had never felt so safe and did not want to go home, she is now permanent at Park View and is so content. We as a family have no concerns or
doubts over her safety and well being.
The staff are so friendly and nothing is a problem when asked., managements door is always open for any concerns. The change in my mother since residing at Park View is great.

My Grandpa has now been in Park View for 6 months and we are very happy with the care and attention he has received. All the staff are lovely and great at keeping us informed. They are very accommodating and made a special effort for our family to have a meal for Grandpa's 95th birthday at Park View.

Although my brother has only been resident for two weeks, I am very pleased with all I have seen. On arrival, he was introduced to all the staff on duty which was a lovely gesture. All the staff have been very helpful to my brother and family and are always there to answer any questions that may arise.
The home is always bright and cheerful, the residents all seem very happy as they mix with each other. I have nothing but praise for the management and staff.

I cannot rate this care home highly enough, from management to domestic staff. My husband is on the 1st floor, the care compassion and dignity he receives is amazing, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They have been amazing, anything I have asked for by management and staff has been dealt with,
they truly are worth there weight in gold. I would highly recommend this establishment, 10/10, and I can’t thank them enough. One very happy resident's wife.

My mum has lived at Park View for over 4 years now. She is well looked after by a group of caring and efficient staff members. They know mum's likes and dislikes and make sure she is as happy and settled as possible, her dementia sometimes making her feel worried or unsure about everything! If any queries
or problems arise they are always willing to listen to me and sort things out quickly without any fuss. Although mum doesn't join in much with other residents, staff, including the activities staff, do spend 1-1 time with her. Although I see mum nearly every day I know I can go away for short holidays in the knowledge that she will be safe and well cared for.

Current Review Score: 8.6 (8.627)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.6 (8.627) out of 10 for Park View is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.2 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.389 for Park View is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (15 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.389

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.238 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park View is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 65 registered maximum number of service users is 13. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 13 = 0.538

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Amy began working in care in 2015. From the beginning with no care experience, she spent a year out in the community and realised that caring for those in need had quickly become a passion and something that she wanted to do as a career. Amy decided to move into a residential setting and joined St Martins Care at its Park View care home and she has not looked back since. Amy’s first role was as a care assistant. Staring with no qualifications, she was supported by St Martins Care and soon obtained her NVQ Level 2. Straight away, Amy began studying for her NVQ Level 3, which has enabled her to progress in her career quickly. Amy says: “I always knew that I wanted to achieve more. I’m so pleased that my skills and ambitions were recognised and that I was able to progress, firstly as an acting senior before being promoted to senior care assistant. Being able to make a difference in the lives of those who require 24-hour support and even re-enabling those to return home is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do”. Amy is now the deputy manager of Park View and she is grateful to have been given this opportunity. Amy adds: “The whole team at Park View is fantastic and we are one big family, with the residents being at the heart of it. I am proud to be part of St Martins Care and look forward to what the future brings for us at Park View”.
