Set in the midst of the Shropshire Hills, Stretton Hall Nursing Home is just a short drive from Church Stretton, also known as 'Little Switzerland'. It has 50 elegantly decorated bedrooms, a cinema room and a vintage tea-room.

It's the perfect place for a short respite stay as well as very specialist care. It's Garden Suite brings to life Morris Care's Cedar Philosophy, a pioneering approach to dementia care.

The 18th-century hall has been sympathetically restored and redeveloped to create luxuriously appointed bedrooms all with en-suite facilities and state of the art equipment. The bedrooms are spacious and many overlook the beautiful Shropshire countryside.

Social wellbeing plays a huge part in the care provided at Stretton Hall. Its enthusiastic and committed social life coordinator, dedicates time to ensuring residents and visitors have a diverse and exciting activity schedule to enjoy.

From visits to the local Yew Tree Pub and in-house ‘Ritz inspired’ afternoon teas, to visits from lambs at Easter and regular creative visitors including bell ringers and singers, there is something for everyone to get involved with.

Social interaction and activities like these are all aimed at stimulating the mind, combating loneliness and unlocking residents’ fond memories.

She received excellent care and understanding at Stretton Hall. We feel all her needs are met thanks to all the hard-working staff. We couldn't wish for a better place for her respite. She looks forward to coming to every visit and comes home in a happy mood and can't wait to tell us all about her stay.
All her personal hygiene and support needs are met. We would highly recommend Stretton Hall.

I still cannot thank the group and Stretton Hall enough for their care of looking after mother. Now I am visiting more times each week since opening back up, Mum is looking amazing. She is so happy. She loves all the staff. They work really hard taking good care of Mum; they will sit with her until
she has eaten all foods and drinks; they have and spent time with Mum. Only for these lovely staff, I am sure Mum would not be with us today. They are very caring and absolutely fantastic staff. Highly recommend Stretton Hall. Thank you all so much.

We were welcomed in at short notice with end of life care, the staff are professional and friendly. Especially one member of staff whose caring and welcoming professionalism made the family feel at ease. We didn’t see much of the facility’s however the care towards my mother was of a high standard,
they were open and honest with all of the family and answer any questions we had. Thank you to all the staff that made a difficult time bearable.

The home has worked very hard over this difficult period to keep me in touch with my mother with Zoom meetings, garden visits, pod visits and at last, visits in person. The staff are friendly and helpful.

On 12th February, my son and I were at the bedside of my wife as she slipped peacefully away from a deep sleep.
She was in her 17th year of enduring Altzheimers, 15 of which was with my and our families care.
Finding and being accepted by Stretton Hall proved to be ideal for my wife.
I have nothing
but praise for the management, and especially the staff of the Garden Suite during her approx 2 and 1/2 years spent at Stretton Hall.
Until the arrival of Covid 19, the family were allowed 24/7 access to visit my wife and their Mother.
The garden suite staff were unbelievably caring and always available to assist with her care. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
The meals were of a high order, (thanks to the chef), fresh and more than sufficient, liquids and treat always available.
The bedrooms were clean, tidy, fresh linen etc.
I remember saying once that Stretton Hall was more like an extremely good Hotel... I have no reason to remove that remark.
Dignity was ever-present.

My husband has been a resident at Stretton Hall for nearly five years. His dementia has become increasingly worse, but the care and patience of all the staff have been constant despite his sometimes uncooperative behaviour. All his needs are taken care of with sympathy. He appears to be happy and settled
which is a comfort to me.

I was immediately struck by they constantly smiling staff who are obviously very happy working here. The care is brilliant and the nurses keep me informed regularly of any changes/incidents however slight. Doctor visits weekly and there is a comprehensive activities program. The staff try to involve
as many residents as possible in the activities and no one is left out.
I would definitely recommend Stretton Hall to anyone wishing a relative to be cared for with no worries here.

I have been so impressed by Stretton Hall. My father is being cared for by excellent and kind staff. I regard the home as having created a sense of community, which my father quickly belonged to. There is also a lovely warm culture pervading the home - all staff treat residents, family and other visitors
with kindness, respect and warmth. For us, we have peace of mind that my father is being looked after and we are kept informed.

Since moving to Stretton Hall three months ago, my aunt, who suffers from cancer and dementia, has received excellent care. Staff/patient ratio is good - there is always a nurse on hand. The staff are accessible, friendly and dedicated to the care of the residents. Unlike her previous nursing home,
where she was left in bed alone all day, the staff go to some effort to get her up and bring her down to the dining room for lunch (food always looks appetising and there's a good choice). Her communication/cognitive function is limited but she still is involved in activities with other residents, taken to sit in the garden on a fine day. The rooms - with good sized en-suite bathrooms - are bright and comfortable with lovely views over the Stretton Hills.

Caring and professional staff at all levels. Not only do they all do their work to a high standard, but they are all respectful to the residents. Invariably cheerful and seem to be totally committed to good outcomes. This goodwill is also apparent in their entire staff collaboration which has a positive
