The team at East Park Court are devoted to enriching the lives of their residents. Providing residential and dementia care, they also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance.

The residents have an active role to play in how their home is run, from welcoming potential residents and their families, to providing feedback on everything from the activities to the menu.

They enjoy a wide variety of activities, from live musical entertainment to animal visits, with everything from hedgehogs and puppies, to tortoises and rabbits. The home also has its own dog, a King Charles Cavalier called Dexter, whom the residents adore.

Residents enjoy pub lunches and trips out shopping, visits from local school children, as well as performances by local theatre and music groups, and the local church choir.

Loved ones are embraced into life in the home and join in with so many activities and outings. They also love to take part in community events, like this summer’s Crufts Show, as well as summer and Christmas fetes.

And there are also outings to enjoy. This summer the residents enjoyed a trip to West Midland Safari Park, followed by trips to the Sealife Centre in Birmingham and Cosford Air Museum.

There are lots of wonderful spaces to enjoy in the home, with welcoming lounges, a vintage café and a hair salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser and pampering sessions.

The residents’ bedrooms have ensuite wet rooms. Some of the bedrooms also have patio doors leading to the secure gardens.

In the dining rooms, residents enjoy nutritious home-cooked meals, from roast dinners with all the trimmings, to fish and chip Fridays, and home baking for afternoon tea.

My aunt has been a resident at East Park Court for ten years now and I have always been impressed by the care she has received. The carers are very capable, and friendly as well; they know the residents and their likes and dislikes. The management is efficient and friendly. The bedrooms are comfortable
and well equipped, the walk-in shower in the en-suite so convenient; the food is good and abundant! Now that my aunt is approaching the end of her life I have been so touched by the care and affection she is receiving. Nothing is too much trouble, all they want to do is to make her as comfortable as possible. They have also been so supportive to me.

My mom has been a resident of East Park Court for nearly two years now, she is very well looked after by a very caring team and treated with dignity. Any problems we have had, usually with an agency or temporary staff have been resolved straight away, I can relax knowing that my mom is being cared for
during lockdown.

Since my mother's been living in East Park, I can honestly say that all the staff have the same attitude and willingness to help in all situations which have arisen, good and bad. An excellent team and a lovely environment. A credit to the staff and management.

On first viewing East Park Court for my mom I was impressed and my opinion has not changed. Every aspect of East Park Court is geared to the health, safety and wellbeing of resident with very caring staff and management. The total commitment of the staff during the Covid-19 Pandemic has been excellent
under extremely difficult circumstances. They are always ready to help and support relatives of residents where they are able to.
We were very lucky to find such a good care home and have no concerns after four and a half years.

Mom has been a resident of East Park Court for 4 years now and has been very well looked after. The staff do a wonderfull job in all respects. We as a family are always kept well informed, communication is very good. The last few months have been very difficult for care homes, but East Park Court have
done extremely well to remain COVID free.

Our mother had been a resident at East Park Court for the last two years but sadly passed away on the 10th March. We cannot praise the management and staff highly enough for the kindness, care and respect shown to Mom and all the family during her time at the home and especially in the last few weeks
of her life, we couldn't have asked for more.
Our heartfelt thanks.

Mom and I chose this home together for her in 2019. The Management and staff were so supportive and understanding, of what we were going through. They helped make a difficult decision, easier. Mom settled very well and soon thought of it as home, especially as we were able to personalise her room with
pictures and small items of furniture. The staff are professional, friendly and Mom trusts them. I feel confident leaving Mom in their care. Not only is your loved one looked after, they are always there to offer support and advice to the family too.

Home is always spotless. Staff seem caring and attentive. Activities every day. Not seen meals actually but the menus seem very good. My mother is always clean and well-dressed. She seems happy enough and feels safe. Residents' belongings seem to be better labelled too than previously.

Absolutely lovely homely place. My mum had a bad stroke and is a resident here. The staff are amazing, so approachable and lovely, always activities to do etc. Mum has a gluten-free diet of which they accommodate easily with no issues. Lovely spacious room. Very highly recommended.

My mom has been in this care home for a year. The care is very good, I am pleased overall that my mom is being looked after. There are some issues that need attention, like shortage of staff. I think sometimes residents are being neglected, not because they don’t care but there aren’t enough staff.
Most of the staff there are very attentive and caring.

Dear Linda, thank you for taking the time to review East Park Court. As the new manager at East Park Court Sabrina is always looking for ways to improve the service given, as a result of your review she carried out a dependency took check which calculates staffing hours against assessed resident care hours. Sabrina feels confident that East Park Court is operating well within the required hours of staffing. We are aware however that some times of the day can appear busier than others. As a manager, we encourage feedback from residents and their families as this gives us the opportunity to reflect and adjust practices where appropriate. Sabrina is more than happy to discuss any issues or concerns you may have regarding the care of your mom and hopes that after discussion she is able to put your mind at ease. Best wishes.

From the time that I first contacted the care home, everyone I have spoken to has been friendly and helpful, from the receptionist, the care assistants, right up to the manager. When I visit my husband I see this helpfulness, friendliness plus the patience respect and dignity with which they treat the
residents.
The home is always clean, it is secure and it is a pleasant environment for the residents.

Accompanied my mom, other residents and staff members on a trip to a local Canal Trust.
It was an amazing day with a boat trip and picnic.
The staff were superb and extremely caring and aware of all aspects of the needs of the group.
My anxiety about the enormity of what they were undertaking was
quickly quelled.
We had a lovely time.
I have been very satisfied with the quality of care my mom has received at East Park Court and can feel that she is well looked after when I am not visiting.
The food is very good and she can make choices, you can often smell a roast dinner cooking, made fresh on the premises.
Looking forward to seeing what the next trip will be with my 93-year-old mom who has Dementia.

Recently found my Mum's hearing aid, one half in her ear, the mould missing and still is. Things like this seem to go unnoticed. I don't think there is enough communication between the resident and the next of kin. Also, she has quite a lot of clothes but they don't seem to vary what she wards day to
day. The hems on her trousers are coming down, no one has informed us, found out for ourselves, hence my Wife is taking her sewing box. Also, she has whiskers on her chin and I'm the one who has to ask for them to be shaved. Her nails are a disgrace with horrible brown stuff under them so had to ask for them to be cut. Personal hygiene could be better!!

After viewing several care homes in the area came out with this one and said 'That's the one'. I was not disappointed when my Sister moved in. I have only praise for the care she received and, more to the point, so does she. She is treated with respect at all time, she is relaxed and has started earing
again, putting on half a stone in 10 days. All the carers I have met are friendly, caring and experienced and this makes for a very happy environment. I hope I am as lucky when my time comes!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.688)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.688) out of 10 for East Park Court Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.979 for East Park Court Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (92 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 94 Ratings = 4.979

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.709 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for East Park Court Residential Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 registered maximum number of service users is 8.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.909

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
