This purpose-built facility is newly refurbished throughout with modern living and dining areas.

The new layout suits adults with residential dementia and nursing dementia needs. The sensory and courtyard gardens help residents enjoy the scenic location whilst bedrooms provide comfortable and stylish accommodation, complete with ensuite bathrooms and flat screen TVs.

Food preferences are discussed on arrival, as the home looks to ensure meals are nutritious and suited to dietary requirements. Residents can eat in comfortable dining rooms, the privacy of their own bedrooms or while welcoming visitors.

The activities programme is designed to embrace personal choice and interests, with many events and scheduled entertainments on the calendar, as well as regular trips and outings. Friends and family are always welcome to visit and join in.

We have encountered the greatest kindness and consideration in the care of my mother. At all times she has been treated with dignity and respect and her changing needs have been addressed promptly and efficiently. We never have any contact with office management. My mother always says she is happy here
when asked and we can see she is calm and feels safe.

My mother is extremely deaf and this can create a problem in her understanding unless her hearing aids are put in and checked that they are working. This must be a priority for her. Activities are very limiting due to hearing problems. Overall, we are happy with the home.

Moved our mother into Canning Court Nursing Home in early 2016 (she is 85, diagnosed Alzheimers). She had previously been in a care home in Alcester. The team are great. Our mother is happier at Canning Court - she is eating better, she is cleaner, she has made new friends and she gets more stimulation.

Took a while for my mother to settle in. Staff seem very friendly. Facilities okay, would like to see more residents outside getting some fresh air occasionally. Need to keep relatives informed about hospital appointments etc more. On the whole, a good service.

Having looked at several homes for my Aunt we were delighted to find Canning Court. We were shown around by very helpful and friendly staff making a difficult decision much easier for us.


My Aunt has now been in the home for several months, she has settled and appears to be looked after extremely

well.


It is a great comfort to know that she is safe and is being cared for by caring staff.

Canning Court is an excellent care home which has looked after my mother extremely well in the 3 1/2 years she has been a resident at the care home. My mother has dementia and Canning Court specialises in the care of residents with dementia. They have been especially good in adapting as her condition
worsens over time. They are very proactive and always looking ahead to the next phase of care. When I was looking for a care home for my mother I looked at many care homes and none gave me the same good feeling as Canning Court.


The only downside is the cost. I know all care homes are expensive, but Canning Court is at the very top end of the scale and as such my mother's quite substantial funds soon disappeared and she has moved onto Council Funding. It is worth saying that that change of funding has had no impact on quality of care.


Even allowing for the costs I know I made the correct decision to choose Canning Court and as such would have no hesitation in recommending Canning Court.

My mother has been a resident at Canning Court since it opened. In that time, the manager has changed several times and staff have moved on. I have been in discussions many times about the care of my mother which in the past was to say the the least, challenging. Both from the care and communication
with members of staff and management.
Over the past 2/3 years things have improved in both these areas. The nurses, carers, cleaning staff and catering have improved. They are all hard working. Caring and open to discussion. Some have worked at Canning Court for several years and they are a welcome sight. The staff seem to have a good working relationship and it shows in their easy caring manner and sense of humour.
Improvements are slowly taking place and I believe that Canning Court is a comfortable and often comforting place to live.

My first positive dealings with Canning Court were when my family had to choose a home for my mother to go in to. At two homes we were told to make appointments but at Canning Court we were told to just turn up, which we felt was a very good sign and that they were not going to put on a show for us.
We are also able to go and visit anytime day or night which gives us confidence with her care.
The staff are also very helpful but we do have our favourites, the ones where I have turned up unexpectedly and have been outside her room and I can hear them singing to her while she is being fed or changed and it is very reassuring to know that she is in such caring hands.
I'm not saying we haven't had the odd problem but whenever we do, once it is reported it is dealt with.

My husband has been a resident in Canning Court for 16 months. We liked the home because of the amount of space; my husband paces a lot and there is plenty of space for him to walk freely. There are also several lounges. so plenty of places to sit comfortably when family and friends visit and residents
have plenty of choices of where to sit and relax. My husband has a poor appetite and the staff do all they can to encourage him to eat, he has often needed help eating and there has always been a member of staff to sit with him for as long as it has taken to feed him. They also ensure he drinks plenty through the day as he would forget if not prompted.
We are always kept informed of any worries the staff have about his health and well-being and are always informed of any concerns they have, and are then involved in discussions about what can be done to improve things for him. On occasions when he has not been well, we have quickly been informed. The local GP regularly visits and comes promptly when some one is ill. The staff are always willing to listen to any concerns, and are also ready with a shoulder to lean on and a cup of tea when needed.
It is a very difficult time for anyone having to put a loved one in a home. The staff at Canning Court helped us through the difficult first few weeks and have continued to be there to support the whole family and make my husband's life as good as it can be.

Went in to visit a very good friend with a family member, who like me, thought the actual place is lovely, but where were the carers ? 3 were in one ladies room, just stood talking, one of them was just sat watching TV with the resident all the time we were visiting .... we had to ask someone to change
our friends incontinent pad as it was seeping through his trousers.. my question is HOW LONG WOULD HE HAVE BEEN SAT IN THAT STATE , had we not gone to visit. The person I went with cried because this is the first time she has been to visit him... not a good impression..

I’ve worked for Bupa since 2016, and have been the home manager at Canning Court since December 2021. I started working in social care as a support worker for adults with Autism and learning disabilities, which I loved.


I progressed through the company and managed a service in Milton Keynes, which supported adults to live independently. After a while though, I missed the community feel of a care home, the residents and working in a team.


I live in a village just 25 minutes from the home with my husband, our son and daughter, our working cocker spaniel and 2 chickens! I love being outside, running and keeping fit and all kinds of food, but especially chocolate!
