Foxton Court is very well managed. The staff are very caring and friendly and always have time to speak to you. The rooms are comfortable and clean and very functional. There are lots of drinks and snacks on offer as well as great breakfasts, lunches and evening meals. Since my mum has been a resident,
I know she is safe, clean, warm and gets her medication, which is a great comfort to me.

My husband had multiple health issues and very poor mobilities. I visited every day. Both he and I were given respect, dignity, kindness and thoughtful care from all staff. This ethos went all the way to end-of-life care.

Both residents I visit seem settled and contented. One person with Alzheimer's is always treated with courtesy and respect whatever his mood. My friend's family members are supported and kept very well informed of their family member's needs. I have nothing but great respect for all the staff I have
contact with. What a lovely caring and happy care home.

Understaffed. The manager, who doesn’t listen to concerns and often doesn’t act on them. Chase for payment a month ahead.
Wouldn’t use them again.

Foxton Court is a pleasure to visit due to the friendly staff and attractive entrance. The reception area is elegant and has no smell which is a good bonus. It's lovely that we can now pop in to visit, we are never met with an "it's you again" attitude.

After an initial very unsettled period, Dad has been much happier with his stay at Foxton Court. The staff have worked really hard to understand his needs and make him as happy as possible.

Our mum moved into Foxton Court 2 weeks ago as she was unable to look after herself in her flat. I cannot express how happy we are with Foxton. The staff are all very welcoming and friendly. Mum is really enjoying herself and taking part in activities each day. The food is great.

Overall I am very disappointed with the care my father-in-law received in Foxton. The management team over promise and there is a staff shortage. My father-in-law had the same socks on for 4 days, was then eventually showered and then the same socks were put back on. They were not even his socks despite
me pointing this out to 3 different staff. We were also disappointed with the professionalism of a worker that attended an assessment as a representative of the home. They were giving incorrect information and when questioned would change their mind. It was like they were talking about a different resident. One of the workers had a great bond with my father-in-law and if it were not for him I think his respite time would have been unbearable. The home looks fabulous. On a visit, the staff says what you want to hear, my experience is that the reality is completely different. All in all a very stressful experience.

Thank you for taking the time to bring your concerns to our attention, this has allowed us to time to investigate and feedback appropriately. Our staffing numbers within the home are to the levels required, any shortfalls we have had within the home are covered by agency or colleagues from our fellow homes. When agency has been utilised, we use the same agency person for continuity. With regards to your Father-in-law wearing the same socks, this was highlighted to the Deputy Home Manager and was addressed immediately. Our records show your Father-in-law was showered regularly. With regards to the assessment, unfortunately, the message was not passed on when the CHC Assessment Team contacted the care home. Also, whilst the assessment was taking place there was a technical problem with the IT equipment. During our call I had the opportunity to explain and apologise for the breakdown in communication, and I explained I would take forward the concerns within the home, all of which have now been addressed. We apologise again for the breakdown in communication and the concerns you have raised, should you wish to discuss this further, please do not hesitate to contact the Area Director.

Dad received amazing care throughout his stay at Foxton Court Care Home. All the team showed and acted genuinely in a respectful and loving way. In a very short time, the team were friendly and loving not only to my dad but also to myself and my family. The location was ideal, that enabled me to call

Foxton Court Care Home is situated in a small estate just south of Morpeth. It is a purpose-built building and has a large garden to the rear. You have your own room, with carers and nurses to look after you. I have no complaints, in fact, everyone is making my stay here as safe as possible.

A very friendly and caring home where all the residents feel welcome and cared for. The staff are very approachable and take an interest in all of the residents. Joanne

Joanne Bulford

Job Title: Home Manager

“For me, kind care is making every moment count for Residents and their loved ones.”


As a dedicated healthcare professional, Joanne has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Joanne closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Foxton Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Joanne remarked:


“There’s nothing more rewarding than knowing that we are providing the best possible quality of life and care for Residents.”


In her spare time, Joanne enjoys keeping active with long walks in the countryside and going to the gym.
