Welcome to Ashlands Manor; a lovely and luxurious care home located in the charming village of Ashton-on-Mersey in Sale, South Manchester.

Ashlands Manor is a purpose-built 57 bed ‘new generation’ care facility that has been expertly designed to meet all current CQC requirements and provides the highest standards of safety, comfort and care. The care home offers residential and specialist dementia care.

Internally, the attention to detail is impressive. The high specification and décor of Ashlands Manor have been carefully considered by an interior designer, creating stylish yet comfortable and practical spaces for residents to enjoy.

Arranged over three floors, the facilities at Ashlands Manor are exceptional, with each floor enjoying its own communal lounge and dining room. All bedrooms boast en-suite wet rooms, and there is also a spa-assisted bathroom, hairdresser and nail bar.

There is a beautiful, mature garden at Ashlands Manor, along with an additional sensory garden and a terrace to the first floor. Making the most of its gorgeous grounds, almost all of the ground floor bedrooms have direct access to the gardens.

My mu is very settled and happy in Ashland Manor. The environment is a home from home set-up, which is what the transition for my mum into residential care was stress-free for all concerned. As it's a purpose-built dementia care home, my mum enjoys the freedom to walk around unhindered and has her "own"
routine, rather than being forced into a stressful regime. The carers are kind, patient and tolerant, which is why my mum is so very happy.

Excellent care in a difficult time. I went in there for the first time in 9 months. Everybody was so cheerful and there was plenty going on. It is a great relief to see my mother is so well cared for.

On arrival at Ashlands Manor, my mum was quite weak, tired and undernourished. After only a couple of weeks, my mum is noticeable stronger, more energised and eating and drinking well. In short, much healthier than she has been in a while. The care and attention from the staff is excellent from getting
my mum her favourite foods to encouraging her to join in with activities. A big thank you to care team and all of the team for the care, patience and respect given.

Excellent, friendly and caring staff. Always interacting well with the residents (even those where dementia is a difficult thing to deal with). It is a pleasure to visit as I know my relative is so very well cared for.

My mother has been a resident at Ashlands Manor Care Centre for nearly three years and during that time she has been extremely well looked after. The staff are amazing and can't do enough for her. The menus are very varied but I think they need to have plainer food for the age they are catering for.

Staff and personnel very helpful. Facilities very good. Meals were very good (but in the case of my Mum, portions too big). Concerned about returning food not left. I personally have been treated well and ade welcome every time I visited. Keep up the good works.

In July 2017 we needed care for both of my partner's parents. Ashlands Manor went above and beyond helping us to secure a safer future for both of us. We had looked at many solutions but when we walked in there, we knew it was the answer. Dad has dementia and likes to mooch about and Ashlands has all
the space to do this and he can go in and out of his room, none of this sit in a circle in the lounge.
He is safe, stimulated, has access to a safe outside balcony, lovely staff who can read his moods, knowing when to cajole him or give him his own space. If he's up all night, staff sit and chat, watch videos, play games, whatever it takes, then he'll sleep all day. There is a state of the art activity table with overhead projector always available for stimulation. Dad is on the middle floor and comes down to join mum for any activities and mum goes up to see him if the staff judge his mood to be OK. The feeling of relief on our part when they are both in Ashlands in unmatched by any other solutions out there.

Mum and dad have been in Ashlands since July 2017. When Dad went into Ashlands he really wasn't very well. He's on the first floor with dementia. He had lost a lot of weight and was struggling. Sixteen months later he's going strong. From the first day, Mum and Dad have been treated with lots of love,
care attention and most important, respect.


They are very well occupied with activities every morning and afternoon. Ashlands is very well managed with the staff going way beyond the call of duty to make sure residents are comfortable. I would happily recommend Ashlands Manor to anybody and have.

We feel very lucky to have found Ashlands Manor where my Mother is very settled and comfortable. She has spent a full year at Ashlands and has received excellent care. Ashlands Manor itself is extremely nice, modern, spacious and well equipped. The rooms are comfortable and have a nice en-suite and
tv. The staff are lovely and go that extra mile to help the residents (and family) and spend time with them. Thank you.

Dad seems to be very settled and happy at Ashlands. The food is very good and he's put a stone on in weight since arriving. His carers are kind and helpful. They are lovely to talk to when I call each week from Australia and always let me know how dad is going.

Ashlands is well presented, clean and comfortable and the staff are generally kind, friendly and hard working. The catering is excellent and Mum enjoys her food.


We have had issues with Mum having to wait to be taken to the toilet as this causes her a lot of stress. However, we have spoken to staff

members in this regard and they are trying to improve the situation. There have been a few issues with Mum not being ready for hospital appointments, but again, having spoken to staff this appears to have improved. Overall Mum seems to be settled and happy.

My husband has settled down really well and very quickly at Ashlands.
He finds the staff very pleasant as do I.
They respond quickly when he rings his bell.
He likes the food and is eating much better than in his previous care home.
My only criticism would be that despite paying £1,000 per week,
he is expected to pay for his incontinence pads.
I know the Local Authority will not provide them but you could!

The facility provides a good level of care. As it is new and purpose built it offers better facilities than many other care homes. Up to 19 residents per floor help maintain a good atmosphere. It is very expensive. My relative is not always complimentary about the food.

My father has only been a resident for a few weeks but the care he has received so far has been fantastic. The staff are wonderful, in particular, the senior care assistant who has been so kind.
The reception staff are also exceptional!
My father has terminal cancer and is being treated with exceptional
kindness and dignity.
I have at last some peace of mind.

I started my career in care over 20 years ago as a Care Assistant I knew instantly I wanted to build a career in the care industry and from then I progressed to a Team Leader, Deputy Manager and started my role as a Home Manager 12 years ago. I have experience in managing both nursing and residential homes and always strive to deliver the very best person-centred care. I was attracted to New Care Homes as I liked their ethos, vision and values and from the moment I stepped into Ashlands for my interview I felt at home. I am committed to continuing to provide person-centred, dignified and quality care in my role here and to putting the residents at the forefront of what we do, whilst supporting a fantastic team of staff.

I have been working in the health care sector since 2000 when I started off as a student nurse. I have worked in different settings since qualifying as a nurse, namely Intensive Care, medical, surgical wards, primary care and corporate health. I moved onto health and social care 6 years ago and I have loved every minute of it. I find working in a care home very rewarding. I have a great passion in End-of-life care and dementia. I worked as unit manager and acted as a Deputy manager at my previous job before joining New Care. When I came across New Care, I knew I would resonate with their values and vision. I began working within the care industry when I was 18. I started off as a care assistant in a residential care home after looking after my mum. Over the years I have progressed up to team leader, in home trainer and now working as the head of residential care here at Ashlands. During this time, I have worked with a variety of people from all walks of life. Developing my skills along the way. I have a particular passion for dementia and person-centred care. I particularly enjoy my Job here at Ashland's as it allows me to bring together the skills I have learnt while continuing to develop and provide person centred care to our residents.

I joined Newcare in November 2021 as a Team Leader and have worked in the care sector over 15 years in various roles starting as a bank care assistant and moving up to Deputy Manager in my previous job. I am passionate about providing person centred care to the residents we support. My greatest reward in care is working with people living with Dementia. I love working in care as it is fulfilling in making a difference in the residents’ lives, we support and to ensure that they are happy and cared for. I hold a Level 3 in Health and Social Care and a NVQ Level 4 Diploma in Leadership and Management. Since joining Newcare it was evident that the company put the residents first as stated in its Philosophy and vision. I am happy to be a part of Ashlands team and will continue to ensure our residents are cared for to the high standard whilst upholding the company's values.

I am relatively new to care, with this being my first job within the sector, having worked in the Hospitality and Leisure industry for the last ten years, and gaining my degree in Events Management and Marketing, then working in management at various pubs, restaurants, golf clubs and arenas along the way. I ultimately had a real desire to work within the healthcare sector and was very keen to bring my wide knowledge and experience from my previous roles into this job. I love my job and being able to create a lasting impact on people and being able to make some fantastic new memories with our precious residents and reminisce on the old ones too.
