Opened in December 2009, Tallis House is a modern purpose built care home offering en-suite rooms and flat screen TVs as standard. Residents enjoy comfortable surroundings, freshly prepared meals cooked by the head chef, a relaxing café, a hairdressing salon and lovely gardens to take a walk through.

The home is closely linked with the local School and Church and was named after Thomas Tallis, the 16th Century composer who lived at the Abbey, following a competition at the School Fete.

The first time I walked into Tallis House to view it, I felt a nice atmosphere. I was shown around in a friendly, but professional manner. I had no hesitation in deciding my father would be made to feel "at home" there.
My father never complained to me about anything and I feel he was as happy as he
could be in his circumstances.
The staff were always helpful, polite and friendly. The day he passed away, the staff were thoughtful and thorough. I will never forget the care the staff gave my father while he was at Tallis House. Thank you.

My aunt has been resident in Tallis House for 3 years until yesterday (15th May 2016) when she sadly passed away. I cannot stress how the care for my aunt by the carers at Tallis House was. They were absolutely brilliant, they were with my aunt in her final days and final hours and treated her like
their own family member. I am very impressed with the care she was given at Tallis House.

I began my career with Runwood Homes in 2009. I started as a carer in Tallis House, care team leader, deputy manager and now I’m a home manager. My ethos in my role is that with great teamwork, we can achieve anything for our residents and their families, and all our staff members contribute to the success of our home. Our residents are at the centre of everything we do at Tallis House.

My name is Joanne. I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House, where I have been proudly working since 2016. I thoroughly enjoy being part of a great team, supporting my colleagues in their day-to-day duties, and providing high-quality care to our wonderful residents.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as Level 3 qualifications in End of Life Care and Dementia Care. I bring a positive energy to my work, complemented by a great sense of humour and a love for laughter.


Outside of work, I enjoy unwinding with TV series, swimming, attending live music events, and spending quality time with my family.

My name is Grace, and I am one of the Deputy Managers at Tallis House. I began my journey with Runwood in 2017, returned in 2023, and have been proud to work here ever since. I love working with a fantastic team, improving the quality of life for our residents, and embracing the fact that every day brings something new and exciting.


I hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, as well as an Access to Nursing and Midwifery Diploma. A fun fact about me is my obsession with sausage dogs—they’re my absolute favourite!


In my spare time, I enjoy watching crime documentaries, going ghost hunting, and spending quality time with my family.

Hi, I’m Catherine, the Home Administrator for Tallis House, where I’ve proudly worked for 14 years. I truly enjoy being part of such a dedicated team, connecting with residents, and getting to know their families.


I hold an NVQ in Administration and have a quirky habit of turning random sentences into songs! Outside of work, you’ll often find me exploring new restaurants and indulging in great food.

Hi, I'm Ryan, and I’m currently a Care Team Leader at Tallis House, where I’ve been working since March 7th, 2023. I have a deep passion for leading and inspiring my team, constantly striving to be better alongside them. It’s incredibly rewarding knowing that when I’m at work, my residents are safe, well cared for, and supported.


My journey in the care sector started in 2023 when I joined Runwood Homes as a domestic assistant. I quickly stepped up to the role of carer in August 2023, and by November, I was honoured to be promoted to care team leader. I’ve gained a lot of experience in this role, and I’m eager to continue learning and growing.


Outside of work, I have a wide range of interests, particularly in music. I hold several qualifications in this field and have been fortunate enough to win many talent shows. I even auditioned for The Voice a few years ago. I also love entertaining people with my skill in accent impersonations—seeing people laugh always makes my day.


In my free time, you can find me catching up on much-needed sleep, playfully irritating my mother, getting tattoos, or playing musical instruments. I’m always looking to find new ways to have fun and grow both personally and professionally.
