The staff are very pleasant and helpful but I can see that there is not enough staff on the ground floor. You go visiting on weekends waiting for somebody to open the entrance door. There is not enough seating in the bedrooms and no chairs for visitors. You have to stand or sit on the bed.

My mum has been at Highgrove since May 2018 and the standard of care is considered excellent. The home is very clean and kept in excellent decorative order. Mum is pleased with both the food and the activities offered and she really likes the staff who do everything to make her stay a happy and healthy
one. We have no intention of changing her care home. Keep up the good work!

After an initial short stay, Mum became a permanent resident in February. I have found Highgrove to be a welcoming, caring environment for both my mum and her family members.

Although my mum was only in Highgrove for a very short period and sadly passed away in their care I felt she was treated with dignity and tenderness. It made us as a family feel better to know that her last days were spent in safe hands.

This is an excellent facility. As a nurse, I had reservations about a residential home rather than a nursing home, however, the care was excellent and all the staff were kind and couldn't do enough for us.
The staff are professional and knowledgeable and treat residents with dignity and respect. The
CQC rating doesn't reflect the care that is given, in my opinion, it is excellent.

My sister was in Highgrove Care Home for five weeks after suffering a broken leg in three places. After several days in hospital, she was moved to Highgrove. It had a good car park, was very safe inside. All people visiting had to ring a bell and wait for admittance (very good) not people off the street
walking in any time and people inside were in a safe environment. Very satisfied.
Visitors are allowed anytime which is good for people who work or have other commitments and you know they are not scared of getting caught out when there are open visits - nothing to hide.
The last home she was in for one week, eighteen months ago was awful. I'm very pleased with Highgrove. If it was to be permanent I would choose Highgrove for my sister or anyone I know.
Kind, caring, helpful staff. Routine meals, baths regularly. Very clean place, tidy, very welcoming in corridors. Plenty of chairs, drinks on all day. A very nice large room for sleeping, own en-suite makes a big difference for quiet time.
A lovely, well-kept garden, plenty of outdoor seating area - sheltered or full sun. Lots of activities and the hairdresser is very good.

My father was a resident at Highgrove from November 2017 to May 2018 when he passed away. My father was hospitalized for two months after he sustained a number of falls. When he was discharged from hospital he was discharged with palliative care expecting to last 2-3 weeks due to sepsis, he also had
vascular dementia. The whole team at Highgrove were all inviting and welcoming. They gave excellent care in every way required. The home was spotlessly clean and the food excellent and varied. High recommended.

My Dad was in Highgrove from November 2017 until his passing away in May 2018. The care which he received was outstanding. The Staff and Management team were all friendly and approachable, nothing was too much trouble. I was always made welcome and offered cups of tea/coffee. My Dad settled in quickly
and although he suffered with Vascular Dementia, he was always treated with Respect and Dignity. The home is bright, airy and welcoming. You have to buzz to be admitted into the home by a staff member and same when leaving, fab security and safety for staff, residents and visitors.

Been a resident for the past two weeks, staff are very obliging. Large room, very clean, good food. Should I have to go into care Highgrove would be my choice. Colourful garden area to sit in on fine days, comfortable lounge to relax in. No complaints at all.

Mum has been a resident at Highgrove since November 2016. Although she never wanted to go into a home she settled in very well and she says she could not be in a better home. She is always praising the food and telling me what lovely meals she has. The home is always kept immaculate, it is light and
airy throughout and it is a pleasure to visit. Various activities are organised regularly each week for residents. All the staff are wonderful to mum and do their best for her. Whenever I visit, I am always made to feel extremely welcome and feel ‘at home’ whenever I spend time with mum. Having been a regular visitor for over 18 months, I have got to know all the staff and cannot praise them enough for the job they do - they are an excellent team and a credit to Highgrove. I would have no hesitation recommending Highgrove to anyone seeking a well run, safe, caring home for their loved ones.

My husband was transferred to Highgrove from the hospital for rehab after a hip operation. Although he was not looking forward to going there we were both pleasantly surprised, the rooms are very nicely furnished, very clean. First impressions the hall is very welcoming and there is no smell which is
often associated with homes. The food was excellent always freshly cooked, I cannot praise the staff enough, always pleasant, nothing is too much trouble for any of them. My husband was looked after very well, it is a very good nursing home with kind caring staff. A very worthwhile experience for him, he came home much better than when he arrived there. Thank You to all involved.

My mum has been at Highgrove since August 2016 she didn't want to go into residential care at first but she is extremely happy there.
Highgrove is very well run and the staff are wonderful nothing is too much trouble so the care my mum receives is of the highest standard. The home is spotlessly clean
and never smells which I think is fantastic. They have an activities lady who comes in most days and has something for everyone to do. I cannot praise the home, staff and management enough. It has given me peace of mind excellent.

My father-in-law had dementia we were always welcome to visit any time. He was always clean and comfortable and well fed the carers both male and female always had time for him. The home arranged all his doctors and hospital appointments and kept us informed. The staff were friendly and approachable
and could answer any questions we had. He had regular haircuts and chiropody appointments.

My mother went into Highgrove on the 14/8/15 until the 18/8/15, just for me to have a break hoping she would like to stay! Long term! She praised all the staff but there was no activities that weekend. The only fault I had was that someone put wet nightgown and dirty wet flannel all in one bag with
good quality knitted clothes.

When my mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia 5 years ago, my sister and I did a detailed due diligence on suitable care homes in our area.


Having selected Highgrove, we have not been disappointed. During her time there she has always been well looked after. Recently, her condition began to deteriorate

and I have to say that the care from the staff there has been nothing short of exemplary throughout her final days.
