Loughton Hall is a residential home registered to provide care for elderly people. The Home is set in approximately two acres of grounds situated in the heart of picturesque Loughton, Essex. That has been converted from a Queen Anne style Grade II listed building/manor. The manor has undergone an extensive renovation programme and has been very sympathetically restored to its forma glory. The Home has been beautifully furnished to a very high specification and all bedrooms benefit from having their own private en-suite facility. There is a private disabled access to St. Nicholas Church. Loughton Hall is conveniently located close to all local amenities and transport links.

Loughton Hall was replaced by the present building by Reverend J. W. Maitland who re-built the manor in 1878. The Maitland family held the manor for much of the 19th century. Amongst its occupiers consisted of Mary Tudor before she became queen of England in 1553. It has played host to many Royals including Queen Elizabeth in 1561 and 1578, as well as King James 1 in 1605.

The Home Manager runs an 'open door policy' and is always happy to help. Care workers encourage relatives to take part in all the activities that take place in the home.

As well as quality care, residents have an active lifestyle supported, with many interesting dates organised for their benefit, while the home's philosophy is to maintain dignity and respect at all times. Bedrooms are en-suite and special diets are catered for, while specialised hoists help those with mobility issues.

My mum has been here since Oct 23, and my dad March 24.
The staff are absolutely brilliant with both attitude to caring and their needs in general.
My parents are very comfortable here, and the staff keep me updated on any problems.
They really can't do enough for them.

My stay at Loughton Hall has been for convalescence following a long hospital admission.
My family made the initial contact and were immediately put at ease with the welcoming and caring manner they received from Loughton Hall's manager.
After an initial visit, we decided this would be a good place
to stay and the care home hasn't let us down.
I have a lovely room which I spend as much or as little time in, as I want.
The staff are excellent and are helpful and kind.
There are activities such as quizzes and bingo, and special occasions like Father's Day are celebrated.
The chef is very good, meals are lovely and plentiful and there's tea and coffee and soft drinks with biscuits and snacks available throughout the day.
It's been a unique experience for me and it's been especially good to see how well the residents are cared for. I would have no hesitation in recommending Loughton Hall to anyone.

I have been absolutely delighted with the way Dad has settled into his new home at Loughton Hall. The staff and management have gone the extra mile for him and their service has been first-class. Dad is joining in with the many activities and is very happy with his new surroundings and friends.

My dad came to Loughton Hall for emergency respite when my mum fell ill and could no longer look after him. At what was a really difficult time I cannot praise the staff enough at how they welcomed Dad and took care of him.
The building itself can feel a bit daunting but the staff are so warm and
friendly that they put both my dad and family at ease. They regularly provided a shoulder to cry on for me when I was finding it hard to cope and provided Dad with a friendly chat every day.
We've moved Dad closer to home now but would like to express how grateful we are for their hard work and compassion. I have no doubt he will miss them all.

I think that Loughton Hall where my father has lived since September 2023 is excellent. My father is well looked after one of the staff, I highly recommend, her caring skills are amazing. She treats Dad like family, he feels so at ease in her care and asked me to thank her. She listens to all his needs

My aunt was transferred from the hospital to Loughton Hall for respite care and after 6 weeks she decided to remain. She says all the staff are lovely. The home is well staffed and there are always activities going on for residents which they are encouraged to become involved with. Every key event in
the year is celebrated with a party or special tea or dressing up. The cook always tries to supply my aunt with meals she favours. The managers are always accessible to me and my aunt. The home is well run and clearly, everyone there works hard to do their best for their results with kindness and patience.

I have a good size room - clean and light. The water supply in the W.C. is not always available and radiators are cold during cold weather. I need extra help with certain medical things. But the staff are excellent and always helpful, despite being busy. The management have made improvements since I
arrived in Sept. I also have certain dietary needs, and the chef and staff have helped me a lot in this respect. Back door step needs improvement. Certain areas could do with improvement - i.e. on the ground floor area adjacent to the lift are W.C.'s used by residents the smell from which is not good. Other than that, a nice friendly home but needs odd improvements.

I am delighted with my mother's excellent care at Loughton Hall. The Manager is always available for a chat with family. The carers are professional, friendly and helpful. Exceptionally clean, with wondereful wholesome food. Activities well catered for. I would recommend Loughton Hall to family who
need to know their relative is safe and well cared for. Visiting is allowed from 9am without an appointment. There are no time limitations for visits. All mum's family, children, brothers, neices and nephews welcome. I cannot express my gratitude to the Manager enough!

Our mother was admitted to Loughton Hall Care Home temporarily to assess her and find a permanent care home. We have now done this and moved her closer to us. During the time Mum was there all the staff were very kind and helpful, the manager was always accessible and had time for us, resolving any
issues required. The home could probably do with a little renovation but the care was very good. Thanks to the whole team for their hard work, it is a difficult job.

The home is bright and airy and clean. The staff have been warm and friendly. We have been so relieved to find a local home that is so good for my mother-in-law. Food is excellent, I have enjoyed lunch with resident's. Good and wholesome and Vienetta. The chef is so kind and friendly.

A resident at Loughton Hall had an 80th birthday party which my mother really enjoyed. There was a singer there who my mum said reminded her Anthony Newley.
He was very good.
