Loughton Hall is a residential home registered to provide care for elderly people. The Home is set in approximately two acres of grounds situated in the heart of picturesque Loughton, Essex. That has been converted from a Queen Anne style Grade II listed building/manor. The manor has undergone an extensive renovation programme and has been very sympathetically restored to its forma glory. The Home has been beautifully furnished to a very high specification and all bedrooms benefit from having their own private en-suite facility. There is a private disabled access to St. Nicholas Church. Loughton Hall is conveniently located close to all local amenities and transport links.

Loughton Hall was replaced by the present building by Reverend J. W. Maitland who re-built the manor in 1878. The Maitland family held the manor for much of the 19th century. Amongst its occupiers consisted of Mary Tudor before she became queen of England in 1553. It has played host to many Royals including Queen Elizabeth in 1561 and 1578, as well as King James 1 in 1605.

The Home Manager runs an 'open door policy' and is always happy to help. Care workers encourage relatives to take part in all the activities that take place in the home.

As well as quality care, residents have an active lifestyle supported, with many interesting dates organised for their benefit, while the home's philosophy is to maintain dignity and respect at all times. Bedrooms are en-suite and special diets are catered for, while specialised hoists help those with mobility issues.

What a disgusting care home, in ways you couldn’t even imagine.
I would not recommend anyone sending a relative to this care home, as I wouldn’t want them to be put through what my nan and the whole family were put through.
Unfortunately, I can’t go into detail, but this home should be shut down!

Good experience, Mum is very happy and enjoys the banter with staff/carers. Would like mum to be encouraged to drink more. Weekly activities/packages very good giving new experiences to residents.

I would like the staff to be more pro-active in hydrating mother i.e ensuring she drinks water and walking and movement. Mums finger and toenails should be cut more frequently.

I find the staff very helpful and friendly, they all work hard and give very good care to the residents. The home is very comfortable with a good atmosphere. The residents seem content and are obviously very well looked after. The activities for residents are stimulating, varied and good fun.

This home has a very caring atmosphere. The staff, without exception, are all very caring and treat the residents with dignity and respect.
It is good to see the residents enjoying the varied entertainments.
In good weather, the large enclosed garden can safely be enjoyed too.
