I found the home very clean and the staff and management very helpful.
The food/ meals are satisfactory, although I found it strange to have curry on the menu as I know my mother has never eaten a curry. Then again this might have been a one-off.

Very welcoming entrance and smelling very fresh and clean and tidy. There is nothing that the staff won't do for our friend. Very accommodating, kind, caring and a personal touch can be seen. The special days arranged such as open days, are spectacular with everyone joining in to make a lovely atmosphere.
Meals and drinks are very well arranged, nothing too much trouble and visitors are made very welcome. Facilities are of the highest, lovely garden and gazebo and rooms are light and large. A very special home

Generally good, however staff fall into different categories from excellent to poor.


Re Value for Money, it is difficult to say 'yes', as my aunt is a self-funder and annual increases abuse your dominant position of having a captive audience.


Home cleanliness is excellent and a safe, comfortable

environment. I find the manager very helpful.


Although better than a lot of care homes, whether such high fees are warranted is debatable.

I feel my relative is treated with dignity and respect by dedicated carers.
The only comment I would like to make which I think is extremely important is that the residents could be entertained more.
Very often they are in their rooms doing nothing.
There should be a lot more social interaction encouraged
to keep the mind occupied throughout the day and into early evening.
Simple things such as movie nights, making it special with ice cream and popcorn.

The health and wellbeing of all our Residents is very important to us. We are delighted to hear your positive comments with regards to our home and the support you received via our care team. Residents' wellbeing is very important to us and this includes the entertainment provided within our homes. I understand your concern with regards to Residents staying in their rooms and how this may impact on the level of social stimulation they receive, we would like to assure you that we look at each individual Resident, taking into account their preferences as to whether they would like to join in group activities. Residents who may wish to stay in their rooms are also supported by our wellbeing coordinator and our care team to ensure they are visited throughout the day. Our weekly activities are displayed throughout the home and the staff remind our Residents daily of the events and also highlighting forthcoming activities which are being organised within the home. We welcome any recommendations to improve and will complete a full review of our activities programme based on your feedback. Our Home Manager operates an open door policy and is happy to assist both Residents and family members with any concerns they may have. We also hold monthly staff meetings and Resident/Relative meetings to discuss any issues or ideas to improve the resident experience.

I would recommend this care home as staff have always been friendly and kind. The home is also very well maintained and clean at all times. I have worked/visited in other care homes and I have to say in comparison Hawthorn Court is of a higher standard. I have had no issues so far with the care of my

I can only recommend Hawthorn Court for the standard of care. I find the staff extremely professional and friendly. I know my mother is being well looked after and all her meals are catered for. Communication with management and staff is excellent. I feel completely comfortable knowing that if any health
concerns arose, these would be dealt with both timeously and safely. It's a pleasure to deal with people who care about people.

The home is always clean and pleasant to visit and peaceful. My mother-in-law's room is very pleasant, well cleaned and comfortable and she feels very safe and secure there. The staff are always pleasant and treat residents that I have seen with respect, care and humour. They are hard working and always
engaging with the residents. The manager of the home is very good and hands-on and very approachable. The food appears to be very good and varied with regular refreshments. Personal care, cleanliness and well-being is very good with a good approach to dealing with dementia and it's associated problems.

My dad has lived at Hawthorn Court for 26 months and is very contented there. He particularly enjoys the social interaction in the dining room and on minibus outings. The home is decorated to a high standard and is kept spotlessly clean. All of the residents look well cared for and the staff are always
pleasant and friendly. Food is well presented, even for residents on a special diet, and the laundry service is very good too.

A lovely care home. The staff are very welcoming and understanding. All the rooms are decorated to a high standard and kept clean.


My mum settled in well and her needs are met by the friendly carers. She is encouraged to join in activities but chooses not to and her preference is accepted.

My mother has been resident at Hawthorn Court since 2013. As with most people having to find residential care for their loved ones, it is always a difficult time with severe misgivings. In my own experience, I have a great deal of involvement with elderly person residential care and nursing homes. It
was, therefore, with particular apprehension that we entrusted our mother into Hawthorn's care. I have observed how the friendly and informed interaction with all of the residents, has enabled staff to differentiate quickly between mood and behaviour changes. In my mother's case, this has enabled an early identification of health problems that have consequently been quick to resolve. The calm and friendly way that support with personal and intimate needs, has avoided her reacting negatively to being assisted. In her moments of lucidity, she manages to express how happy she is to be there and when she asks to go home, she means to the security of her room at Hawthorn. Creating a positive environment is a team effort, and good teamwork requires good leadership.

Staff all very friendly. It's a shame staff are so rushed off their feet, sometimes, even just a little bit of chat goes a long way for the residents who sit for hours in between their relatives visiting. Some don't have anyone at all. Having has past dealings with care homes, however, I'd say Hawthorn
Court has to be one of the best.
It's a hard decision to make putting a relative into a care home. I would recommend Hawthorn Court.

We are sorry that you feel the staff are sometimes rushed off their feet, however, our staffing levels are based on Resident dependencies. This is monitored daily and supported with a minimum of two walk arounds by the Home Manager to ensure that staffing levels can support Resident needs. We certainly encourage staff to sit and have chats with our Residents as often as possible, although care intervention must take priority. At busy times it may seem that staff are rushed however this is to ensure they meet all the Residents' needs in a timely manner. The Home Manager visits Residents throughout the day stopping to chat with them, relatives, friends and professional visitors, and our Wellbeing Coordinator ensures a program of planned daily activities is available. Thank you for your kind comments and recommendation of our home, Hawthorne Court, we are very proud of our staff team who strive to deliver quality kind care to all our Residents.

Words cannot express how I feel about the care my mother received in her 4 years at Hawthorn Court. Wonderful, caring staff. Fantastic care. A true five-star facility. Not only did they make Mam's last few years a pleasant experience they also made the family feel as friends.


The manager and her

team are truly wonderful folks who genuinely care.


Mam could not have wished for a better place to spend her twilight years. Immaculate premises and fantastic staff!

Dad went into the home in April but was diagnosed with a terminal illness in May. Everyone in the home was fantastic, nothing was too much trouble, whatever dad needed, they got him. The care they gave to dad was brilliant, everything was in his best interest and comfort -
whether it was changing
meals, upgrading his bed, keeping him clean and shaved, making him laugh. They really cared about and it shows. Not only were they good with dad when things were difficult but they also looked after us, the family. We can't thank them enough.

I am very happy with the care that my Mum receives at Hawthorn Court. The carers are all pleasant and helpful and management is very efficient. All questions and requests are dealt with promptly and well. The rooms and lounges are all comfortable and clean with lovely views over the gardens and footpaths
where my Mum can see families passing on their way to and from school etc. It is very reassuring to know that my Mum is safe, happy and well cared for.
