The staff on Laughton are wonderful. The care and love you give your residents is exceptional. Mum was in a poor state of health when she came to Davis Court from a previous care home. Your care and professionalism, under difficult conditions that Covid imposed, enabled mum to put on weight and progress
from her wheelchair to being able to get around the home with her frame and allowed her some freedom, independence and dignity.

Mum could not have been looked after better and we really appreciated all the care you gave her. It has been a difficult time for the family but made much easier knowing she has been in the best of hands with everything she needed, knowing she was happy with you all. That has made such a difference to us.

Your support helped her get through some very difficult times, and her final days were one of peace and the care and attention you showed was always courteous and professional. We hope you realise what a difference you make to people’s lives

My mum was in Davies Court for seven weeks. The quality of care she received was absolutely outstanding.
Every single staff member made my mum feel safe and cared for. For us as a family watching Mum actually blossom while she was receiving care says everything to me.
I have attended the home when
staff members have been in the bedroom with my mum, not knowing I was in the doorway. The warmth and friendliness shown to her was amazing. I cannot praise the home or the staff highly enough. We finally got my mum home yesterday. We know that having received such good quality care she will continue her recovery with confidence.
Thank you.

My mum spent the last 6 years of her life at Davies Court with Alzheimer's. The care she received was amazing. The staff are so incredible and right up until the minute she died, they looked after her with genuine care and compassion. The place itself is clean, cosy and like a home from home. My mum's
room was lovely and she had her own ensuite. She was well fed and always had clean clothes and as the disease progressed and she wasn't able to do much for herself, they bathed her, dressed her and always looked after her so well. This was especially comforting to me being 250 miles away, knowing that she was so well looked after. All care homes should be like Davies Court. My brother and I can't thank you enough.

My Mum has just spent the last nine years of her life in Davies Court. She was cared for 24/7. The staff were excellent, they couldn't do enough for her. They treat them as if they are their own parents which is lovely to see. The food and cleanliness were outstanding. Every dinnertime she had a freshly
cooked meal and pudding. She was always dressed clean with fresh clothes on all the time. I highly recommend the home, I am actually going to miss all the staff. Thank you very much for all your care.

Wonderful care provided for my mother during her recent stay following a fall and treatment in the hospital. The kindness and efficiency of staff were exemplary. Thank you all so much.

I have just spent two weeks (holiday) at the St Leger wing and cannot praise the facility enough; clearly everyone is apprehensive about moving to temporary care but within two minutes I was settled and totally at ease. The standard of accommodation is second to none and the curious but very interesting
layout of the home is a revelation. I don’t believe you could get better staff anywhere they could not do enough for you and are always smiling. I can’t mention names particularly because everyone I met was so helpful and charming.

I cannot praise the staff here enough from the managers to the cleaners on Firbeck wing, My Nana who is in her first stages of dementia is staying for respite and the staff have been amazing. They are always very friendly and helpful and just down to earth like you are chatting to friends which is how
you like to feel while leaving someone you love with strangers. We have been able to take my niece and mingle with other residents and genuinely been made to feel at home.

It will be sad for my Nana to leave as everyone is amazing and I would not hesitate in recommending this home to anyone.

Well done everyone!

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.209)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.209) out of 10 for Davies Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.917 for Davies Court is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.917

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.292 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Davies Court is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 60 registered maximum number of service users is 12. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 12 = 0.167

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
