Belong Crewe is rated ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (July 2023), and brings the very latest in care and facilities for older people into the heart of Crewe.

The community village offers 12 self-contained apartments for independent living and six supported ‘households’ with modern en-suite bedrooms and open plan lounge and kitchen areas. There is also a vibrant hub for community activities, with facilities that include a licensed bistro, hair salon, therapy room and exercise studio. The village model is a stunning example of how advanced design and very high standards of care can provide a new quality of life for older people.

Belong households represent a radically different alternative to conventional care homes. Belong Crewe operate with a higher-than-average staffing ratio and a maximum of 12 residents per household, offering a family atmosphere where customers can build lasting relationships with staff and other residents.

The specially trained support and nursing staff are available around the clock to support individuals with dementia and those residents who require clinical care.

Such a caring, attentive and supportive place, with staff that are so dedicated and empathetic to all. As you arrive at reception, you are greeted with a warm glow, that continues throughout.
All needs are met, and activities/entertainment are so purposeful and well received. Activities are well planned
and structured to suit the individual, as is the case with the households, clean, tidy, and homely with wonderful food and comfort.

My nan has gone to live in Belong Crewe after her illness progressed quickly, and she was no longer able to live in her own home without needing 24-hour care. As sad and as hard as this situation is for my family, seeing how all the staff, as soon as you walk in the door at reception, to the management,
bistro, housekeepers and the amazing care team, are so passionate, patient and understanding with the residents; it's very reassuring, especially when you have to leave after your visit. The care I have witnessed first-hand that not only my nan has received but other residents are very humbling. The staff are always doing their best to make sure that the care they are providing is 5-star, with a smile in a busy and fast-paced environment. Well done for all your hard work (especially through the latest Covid times); it really does shine through, and for giving my family peace of mind whilst my nan is in your care.

Walking around the village, seeing residents engaged in activities, walking onto the households, staff are always welcoming, and the care they give is exceptional. The staff always have time to stop and speak from the managers to the housekeepers; we are always met with a smile.

My mother went to Belong after having an illness that had progressed very quickly, resulting in her need for 24 hour care. All the staff from reception, bistro, management, housekeepers and ultimately the wonderful support workers, are exceptional. The care my mother receives gives me piece of mind,
as I know the attention given to her is fantastic. She has lost a lot of weight and is struggling with drinking and eating, but the staff constantly offer different options to try and tempt her. Thank you to all involved in making my mum as happy as possible.

The care my mother has received from the moment she has moved into Belong, is outstanding. My mum's condition has meant that her care needs have been extremely high, several times, most days. The staff that are employed, whether that be the carers, nurses, cleaners, bistro staff, reception or managers
must be hand-picked as they are all amazing. Belong villages are friendly and homely, for those that can no longer manage in their own home this is just the best ever.
Residents live in households, with regular carers in each house, this creates a family environment. There is a wide range of activities for residents to enjoy and socialise. As a family member, I always feel welcome and supported by the staff.
If or when nursing care is needed, Belong also has this covered with nursing staff on-site, so this is more likely to be a home for life and less likely that residents be admitted to hospital. All residential care should be modelled on Belong.

All the staff at this home definitely do care! The home is clean and comfortable with a spacious room. Mum enjoys the delicious meal, she feels very spoilt and has made friends with other residents and staff. It is great for the family to see mum so happy and content and so very well cared for.

Throughout the year I have felt confident that everything has been done to keep this care home and its residents state from the Covid virus. The staff have worked tirelessly and kept up morale despite the frequent lockdown periods.
As an essential visitor, I have been well briefed and given every opportunity

I would like to thank all the staff at Belong Crewe for the excellent job they do, not just in providing care but in activities and enabling people to have a life. They went the extra mile in facilitating my father to be part of his granddaughter's wedding even though he couldn't physically be there.
Not only did they arrange for him to watch the live stream but made sure he had company, nibbles and a drink. The following day they enabled our family, dressed in our wedding finery (including a wedding dress), to meet in the garden so he could give the bride and groom his blessing in person. Providing care and enabling someone to be the person they are is not easy, especially when there are several people all needing help. Those involved in dad's care, management, catering staff, activity staff, carers and all the team, do an amazing job and, as a family, we cannot thank you enough. It is especially comforting when we are not able to visit as we would wish that he has such loving care.

Mum has lived at Belong Crewe on Patriot household for over 18 months. I have great respect for all the wonderful staff who look after mum in such a kind, respective and professional manner.
I know how hard the last year must have been for all the staff trying to keep all residents safe during the
pandemic, so I would like to thank them all for their dedication.
The atmosphere in the building is always very welcoming and upbeat. There is no way I would rather have mum anywhere else. Thank you.

My husband has been a resident at Belong Crewe since last October because of advanced dementia. In April he had a stroke. I knew of Belong Crewe because prior to the pandemic and lockdowns he was an experience day member for 3 days each week. I saw then what lovely caring people all of the staff at
Belong were. The carers are gentle, loving and happy to be doing a very difficult job. They extend the same care to me. You don't have an option for nursing but since my husband had a stroke, the Belong nurses have provided gentle, efficient and knowledgeable care for him. They always keep me informed. This is especially important in these days of GP's working remotely.

Excellent staff and nothing is too much trouble. No one could be more helpful or friendly. My wife is as happy as can be in the separated circumstances, also the trouble taken to allow our weekly visits which are very much appreciated.

My dad joined Belong Crewe in September 2020, very difficult time. The staff have been excellent! Very difficult for us as a family with Covid, therefore, not being able to visit. We ring daily and there is always a reassuring voice at the end of the phone. They give us updates on Dad's day to day life
in his new home and support us, his family. No matter how busy, they are helpful - thank you!

I have very little knowledge of care homes, however, I have discovered this home and its staff including management to be truly efficient and my uncle who is staying here speaks very well of the care he receives. He has never moaned about any of the staff or facilities here.

My mother has been a resident at Belong for two and a half years. Throughout that time she has been cared for in a beautifully designed environment and looked after by the exceptionally caring staff, all of whom have allowed her to keep her dignity and some independence. I would recommend this care

Caroline

Caroline Anthony

Job Title: General Manager

Caroline Anthony was appointed as General Manager at Belong Crewe in April 2024, following her five-year tenure in the role of Support Manager where she consistently demonstrated her leadership skills with compassion and dedication.


Amongst the country’s first graduates for the NVQ in health and social care when originally launched, Caroline’s career took off when she secured her first care job in a local nursing home. Following a brief break she returned to work, this time for the council, providing domiciliary care in the community.


It was after joining Belong in 2016 as a senior support worker that Caroline began to develop her leadership skills, progressing to Lead Senior Support Worker and then earning her promotion to Support Manager.


As General Manager, Caroline has overall responsibility for all who work and live at Belong Crewe, whether in 24-hour care households or independent living apartments.


She operates an open-door policy and always welcomes feedback from customers and members of the wider village community as we work together to enhance wellbeing and outcomes for all in our care.

Jane Hughes

Job Title: Acting Support Manager

Jane Hughes was promoted from her role as Acting Support Manager from Village Nurse Manager in April 2024.

Job Title: Front of House Manager

Joy brings a wealth of experience to the role of Front of House Manager, having previously worked in retirement living for the past eight years. Joy started her career as a receptionist and progressed to being responsible for five schemes across Cheshire; involved in all aspects of administration, customer finances and facilities management.


Jessica

Jessica Butler

Job Title: Experience Coordinator

Nurturing home-grown talent, Belong Crewe promoted Jessica Butler to the post of Experience coordinator in June 2021.


Jessica will work with the wider village team to ensure the provision of meaningful occupation for residents of both its 24-hour care households and independent living apartments, as well as managing the Experience Day programme for customers of Belong’s specialist day care service.


Joining the team as a bistro assistant at Belong Crewe when the village first opened in 2010, Jessica has progressed with the organisation, as it quickly became apparent that her skills in connecting to customers would be highly beneficial in a care capacity.


Belong supported her learning and development to make the transition to becoming a support worker, and Jessica worked under the guidance of Belong’s Dementia Trainer as she took her Level 3 qualification. Jessica soon flourished, showing the perfect balance of empathy and positivity to bring joy and purpose to Belong’s residents and she progressed to a senior support worker.


Inspired by the value added by the Experience Day Team, Jessica later moved across to a role in this service. Already knowing the residents and their needs well, she understood how to create meaningful activities that engaged the customers on a daily basis.

Job Title: Belong at Home Area Manager

Jane joined the Belong at Home team in 2018 and has made improvements to the service during that time.


Having progressed within the organisation, from the role of Community Support Worker to Senior Community Support Worker, before being appointed to the role of Area Manager in January 2020; Jane brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the role. Jane has previously worked in marketing and has experience in leading teams and performance management. Jane has worked and lived in both South Africa and America and returned to the UK in 2015 after living most of her life abroad.
