HC-One have introduced a new care planning system coming into place this year which will allow the whole team to spend more time with the residents due to its efficiency and allow the whole team to document any care or activities in real time without the need to sit down and physically write this. To support this our colleagues are having to do the “background” work which is what you are experiencing now. We hope this will be completed by the end of January.
In regard to the cleanliness of the home, I have completed an infection control audit and have some actions to work through with the team that include some of the concerns you have raised in your feedback. These are currently being addressed.
I hope you feel this addresses your concerns. Should you have any further concerns please feel free to speak to either our Interim Manager supporting Kirkwood Court during the Manager’s current absence or our Deputy Manager. Thank you again for your feedback.

Thank you for the time to complete a care home review for Kirkwood Court. I am happy to hear that your experience has been good and that the well-being coordinator is providing a great service. There are tea trolley’s morning and afternoon at both 11 am and 3 pm between meal times, the staff are always happy to provide further cups of tea/coffee and snacks if residents wish.

Thank you for taking the time to complete a care home review and highlighting the areas you feel we could improve on. Whilst we do use some agency care staff we book with the same agency who provide the same care colleagues thus ensuring consistency and continuity of care. At Kirkwood Court, we pride ourselves on having a very diverse staff team from different ethnic backgrounds. Recruitment has been difficult recently but we nearly have a full team who will be joining us shortly once pre-employment checks are completed and a robust induction has been held with our new colleagues. Angela joined HC-One in 2019 and closely shares the company’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her Colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Angela remarked:

Angela’s proudest achievement was winning a national care award for her hard work and dedication to Residents.
