My mum has been a resident of The Manor House for over seven years and during that time the care and respect that the staff have shown my mum has been outstanding. Mum's Alzheimer's is progressing, but the staff always ensure that Mum's care is provided with dignity. Mum's financial funds have reduced
significantly and we will soon no longer be able to afford to live in The Manor House, we will be devastated when we have to move her to a council-run nursing home.

My mum has been a resident since 09/23 following a stay in hospital. The overall care she has received is exemplary. Every member of staff is helpful, polite and respectful towards the residents. Plus the management team are always available should you need to discuss anything. It's also wonderful to
have dedicated activity staff who go above and beyond arranging twice-daily activities. If you had to choose your own care home this would be it!

My aunt who is 99 has been in The Manor House for a number of years. When she first moved in, she settled very quickly, and continues to enjoy the food and the facilities on offer. The staff are exceptional! They are very caring, patient and always welcoming. The communication is excellent and the staff
go over and above in ensuring my aunt's needs are met. I do not live locally, and am very grateful that I know my aunt is comfortable and being well cared for. A big thank you to the team at The Manor House. It really does deserve its outstanding rating and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

From the moment we first walked into Manor House we were very impressed by the overall surroundings. It felt like entering a 5-star hotel.
Led by an excellent manager we've been so impressed by the quality of care my mum receives.
The staff treated her with compassion and respect and obviously cared
for her very much.
They provide an excellent programme of activities which keep her stimulated and interested, and although they encourage her to participate they respect her privacy.
The staff are very welcoming of visitors and have a great rapport with residents and their family members.
We are so happy with Mum's care as the staff meets all her needs - social, medical and personal.
We are very happy to have chosen Manor House for my mum because of the high standards evident throughout the home.

My mother used Manor House for respite then following a deterioration in her needs was admitted permanently. The care so far has been outstanding which was my main concern. The home itself is very tastefully furnished to a very high standard. Activities are daily and very good. The food choices are
excellent and quality of food very good. Staff keep me updated in my mother's care I have no hesitation asking for updates. My mother is very happy here which is a huge relief to the family.

The home itself is stunning. It's well-maintained and modern in a traditional way. My mum is really well looked after and I feel the staff know her very well. My mum is unable to communicate well but staff know her needs, likes and dislikes. They also recognise when she is unwell. The food is outstanding
and there are many opportunities for relatives to eat with their loved ones. There are activities morning and afternoon to ensure your loved one is entertained and stimulated. The staff are wonderful with my mum and us, her family. We couldn't be happier.

My family member went to live at The Manor House over 3 years ago and we have not been disappointed with the home itself or her care since. This home is lovely both inside and outside in the gardens. The recent addition of a garden to the front of the main door has been well thought out and gives the
residents more outdoor space to sit in. It is always clean and tidy and the cleaning staff are friendly and helpful. Since day 1 Mum has been treated with respect by staff who care about their residents. Any questions I have regarding my Mum, her care and welfare have always been answered quickly and honestly. The office staff are prompt in returning calls and answering queries. I would not hesitate in recommending a visit and considering The Manor House for a loved one.

Always immaculately clean due to the team at Whickham who keep everything the way you would expect it to be.

I rate 'The Manor House' Residential Care Home - First Class.
The accommodation cannot be faulted, overall, the quality of the 'the home' is excellent, this would include the initial impression given and sustained throughout the whole.
Residents are treated with respect and consideration to meet
individual needs.
In addition, 'Health and Safety' aspects are observed, in relation, to individual circumstances, (i.e. my sister's).
For the residents, a full programme of optional activities and entertainment lends itself to a pleasant environment.
The management and staff are particularly caring.
The latter, in reality, is what makes an excellent care home, without, is meaningless.

My father has now been a resident at The Manor House for over two years. He initially went for a spell of respite following a hospital admission prior to going home, as soon as my father walked through the door he felt like he was in a 5-star hotel. The staff all made a fuss of him on day one and that
continued throughout. This was mainly the reason why when he got home and his health and cognition deteriorated he asked to go back.
The staff have really supported not only my father but also us as a family, seeing the health changes has not been easy for any of us, however, the team have looked for different ways to manage this and they have all become an extension of our family now.
We cannot put into words how grateful we are and my father is very content, comfortable and able to live his best life!

Entering the Manor House, it is welcoming and warm.
The managerial staff were there to greet us. We were introduced to the duty carers.
Mum's room was very comfortable with a controlled thermostat operated by Mum. The en suite wet room is modern and aids had been allocated for Mum's needs.
After
4 weeks, her health improved, she started walking again and putting on weight.
She is stimulated and chooses to interact in all the activities.
The residents are encouraged to take part but equally their privacy is respected.
There are two function rooms to choose from to entertain guests.
My mother was very hesitant to go into The Manor House but after 10 weeks has settled in and enjoys all the benefits of what the home brings to her life and comfort.
Very high standards are kept and the management are approachable for any queries and they do take an interest in residence as well.

Manor House from entering for the first time could be seen to be of a far higher standard than other care homes. Facilities for residents are second to none, with rooms spacious and comfortable. From the first few hours, my father-in-law was welcomed by all staff and settled in quickly. The care and
attention staff pay to all residents means we know he is safe, treated with respect and well looked after.

Of all the homes reviewed and visited prior to my wife entering, this home stood out as vastly superior to the others. Interviews with management were reassuring and the reality since my wife's admission has even been better than expected. Management of the home is outstanding, and as a result, the
standards of care are the highest including all the features below. I have no criticism of any feature or aspect of the home and my wife's care.

I cannot express enough how impressed I am with the level of dedication and compassion exhibited by the entire staff of the home. There is a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout and the staff go above and beyond to create a homely environment. In my search for a care home, I did not come across
the attention to detail in decor and communal spaces like the Manor House. The carers are true professionals who treat Mum with the utmost respect and dignity, they take the time to understand her preferences which gives the family a real sense of security knowing they genuinely care about her well-being. The range of activities and programs offered is impressive and Mum is encouraged to participate in a variety of engaging and stimulating activities. The Manor House is a shining example of a care home that prioritises the happiness and well-being of its residents. The dedication of the staff, the welcoming atmosphere, and the personalised care, I would wholeheartedly recommend.

From first viewing on a drop-in basis, I was immediately struck by the quality of the surroundings and the care staff showed to all the residents. On visiting at varying times the care, cleanliness and food have been excellent. All the staff have a real bond with mum and take care of her personal hygiene
needs with respect and dignity. Even though I feel the care is excellent, the staff have been at pains to request feedback whenever they get anything wrong.


I am confident that mum has the care needed to flourish. She now participates in the various daily activities which are very well run and I can see residents are encouraged to join in. We recently had a Mexican night where relatives were encouraged to join in a meal and drinks. This gave my mum a real boost and given her short-term memory is not what it was she still remembers and talks about it a week on.


Whilst I am confident in the care and surroundings the true testament is that mum is happy, feels safe and is mentally stimulated.

Our 81-year-old dad is very special to our large family. We needed respite care for an initial 2-week period. The staff in Manor House and the facilities are so lovely, 2 months later, he is still there! He enjoys his new life, taking part in outings and daily activities. He is so well cared for, and
catered for and enjoys the 'craic' with all of the staff team. Every single staff member we have met there are a pleasure to talk to, and nothing is too much trouble. We honestly can't thank the staff/team enough. Having just been to a Mexican themed night tonight which was fantastic, I just wanted to share how wonderful the team are. A true credit to the organisation, definitely 5*s from us! Massive thank you to all.

The purpose-built building is modern, light and airy with all the facilities one might expect. It is in very good order, well decorated and maintained and immaculately clean. The staff are excellent, being pleasant, helpful, caring, experienced and attentive.
This was my first time putting my 94-year-old
Mother into respite care and I did so with some trepidation as she does not like change. However, I needn't have worried. She was very well looked after and encouraged to take part in the daily life of the home. After quickly getting over the initial upheaval of somewhere new, she appeared to settle in well during her 2-week stay.
Overall, I was very impressed by both the staff (who make the place what it is) and the facilities. The Manor House has more the feel of a good friendly hotel rather than a care home and I would definitely use the Manor House again if there is a space when needed - this is the care home you would choose for yourself!

Have just returned from a fantastic Italian-themed night. This new initiative (only the 2nd) was sold out and I can see why.
The combined efforts of the activities team and chef resulted in a fantastic evening for residents and guests alike.
A great opportunity to relax in the newly refurbished common
areas and spend extra time with Mum in her home!
We believed the food to be excellent and tonight’s offering was exceptional.
We could not be happier with our choice of home for Mum.
