The excellent care my father has received from all the staff he has encountered at The Manor House started even before he moved in. It has continued to be attentive, sensitive and comprehensive. In addition, the communications with me have been thorough, pragmatic and equally sensitive. The liaison
with health care professionals to identify his needs has been excellent. He is delighted with his care and I am extremely happy to think of him in such a welcoming and warm environment.

This was my first venture into a care home for respite care and I have to admit my reasons for this was to give my family peace of mind whilst they were on holiday abroad. I visited The Manor House Whickham for a look around and then again for a pre admission assessment ahead of my stay, and I immediately
knew I would be well cared for in a professional manner and I would feel safe in their care. The premises and ambience were the equivalent of a 5 star hotel, it had a lovely peaceful, relaxed atmosphere which I wasn't expecting. As a retired nurse I was very impressed. I really enjoyed the exercise class and my trip to the Metro Centre, all the staff were very pleasant and easy to talk to. Most of all I was supported to remain independent and to choose my life style whilst I was there. I would not hesitate to return. I enjoyed my holiday very much! Thank you.

We recently moved my parents into The Manor House and the whole experience has been effortless. The staff are extremely helpful and efficient and they have made the whole process so easy, especially since we don't live nearby. My parents have settled in quickly and all the carers are so patient and
kind. They are loving the food and looking forward to joining some of the activities! They have separate health issues so it has been such a relief to find them this wonderful home. We can now have peace of mind that they are safe and being well looked after. Highly recommend The Manor House to everyone!

My mum has Alzheimer's and has lived in The Manor House Care Home since January 2018, following the death of my father, who was mum's carer. From the moment mum moved into Manor House the care has been exceptional. It was a traumatic time for mum, and she was adamant she wanted to stay at home (which
wasn't safe to do) however as soon as mum arrived at Manor House, the warm welcome she was given practically instantly changed her mind, and put her at ease. This level of skill, intuition and love has continued and mum is happy and contented at Manor House. Throughout the challenges of the pandemic they went to great lengths to ensure all residents, staff and families were not put at risk whilst balancing the need for communication and interaction.
Mum's Alzheimer's continues to progress however as there is consistency of staff, they all understand Mum's needs, changing moods, and proactively support her, and us as a family, to ensure she feels safe and supported during episodes of confusion.

My mother and father moved into the home in September 2021 and the care they have received has been exceptional. Sadly, my father passed away in May 2022 and during the period of his illness and following his death, the staff treated the passing of my father and the care for my mother as if they were
their own mother and father. I couldn't have asked for more.
Mum is sadly on her own but wants for nothing. The staff are attentive, kind and understanding of my mum's situation. I work in a care home myself so am aware of the difficulties that both staff and residents can face day to day. I am not a frequent visitor as I live some way away but I sleep at night knowing that Mum is well cared for. Thank you to the staff at The Manor House Whickham, I owe you so much.

I looked around many care homes until I found The Manor House Whickham. The care is exceptional. Our mother has Alzheimer's but is clearly very happy here. Her health has improved greatly since entering the home during Covid. We are able to call anytime and the staff are always welcoming. Mum is always
well presented and the home smells clean and fresh, unlike others I have looked around. She loves the staff, the food and the entertainment.

My father-in-law has been in The Manor House since last summer. The staff on the Chesters ward have been so supportive towards him. The care and compassion that have been shown are second to none. The staff have helped settle him when he gets upset.

As always the staff are courteous and helpful every time I visit. They keep me fully informed of any situations in the home and it is always kept extremely clean. In addition, the outside and gardens are always clean and attractive.

I can’t rate this care provision highly enough. The hardest decision I ever had to make was finding my father's forever home that would live up to my standards of looking after him, as I would. They go over and above in every way. Every single member of staff I have had the pleasure of coming across
is so friendly, respectful and professional. Since covid, they have maintained a safe and secure system to protect their residents, staff and visitors. They are always encouraging their residents to get involved and stimulate them, even more so when doors are closed to visitors. The staff are bursting with bright-coloured personalities and I genuinely see that they enjoy their job and love the residents like they are their own family. I have no worries or concerns here and only hope if ever my time came to be in full-time care, my family pick here for me. Residents are treated like royalty. Thank you to every one of you for your commitment and support to the residents - you are superstars.

I will preface this review by saying I have worked in the care services for over 20-years as a care provider and I hold a diploma in management of care services. I cannot praise the management, nurses and care assistants and all the staff enough. All the staff have allowed my father's final days with
dignity, care and compassion, during these difficult times. They all handled this situation willingly and enabled us to visit him on his final days. The staff were friendly, professional and pleasant. I cannot commend them enough. I just wish I could have been more involved with the home but could not due to Covid restrictions.

The Manor House Whickham is an excellent care home. It provides a fabulous standard of care in outstanding surroundings. The carers have a great understanding of their residents who are cared for in a very dignified manner. They are all involved in a range of activities and outings, giving them variety
in their day. I couldn't praise the staff enough. Relatives are kept updated and are made to feel very welcome.

Dad has been in The Manor House for two and a half years now. The care towards him has been of an extremely high standard. The staff are so friendly, hardworking and demonstrate affection, support and kindness at all times. Covid 19 has been an incredibly tough time for Care Homes. We were given regular
updates during the lockdown as to the ongoing situation. It was extremely hard not to be able to visit him in the initial few weeks, but it was so reassuring that we had the opportunity to have regular video calls. Not only has it lifted his spirits, but it has also lifted mine. Now we can visit for half-hour appointment slots. It's just wonderful. Everyone has been so accommodating, and I cannot thank the staff enough for caring for everyone's precious loved ones, not only at this difficult time but on a daily basis, week in week out every year. Most importantly, Dad seems to be very content and has placed his trust in the staff who treat the residents like a big family.

The Manor House has been exceptional during the Covid-19 outbreak. Communication has been excellent, virtual visiting encouraged and a broad range of stimulating activities continued. PPE has always been available.
My mother tells me she is well looked after and this is very obvious during our daily

Manor House staff have been excellent during the Coronavirus outbreak. It has been very hard not being able to visit during lockdown, but I know Mam is safe and being looked after. They have continued to keep me updated and have regularly sent photographs of her doing the activities they provide.
They have recently let members of the family visit residents, it is really nice to have one-to-one time, albeit for 30 minutes. I can't wait to be able to actually hug my mam but in the meantime I know she is in safe hands. Would definitely recommend this care home.

Wonderful care for my mother at this nursing home, especially during the pandemic. On visiting before the lockdown the home is beautifully furnished, extremely clean and well cared for. The staff are fantastic and the care is wonderful. The residents are treated with dignity, respect and care. The food
is of a high standard. One of the outstanding areas of this home is the social events and activities for all the residents, especially those suffering with dementia. I have visited many care homes over the years as part of my job and The Manor is by far the best in environment and care. Family members are always warmly welcomed by the staff.

My mother has been a resident for some time. She was finding looking after herself difficult so, following falls and a number of infections, she moved into The Manor House. I was worried that she wouldn't settle at first but after a short while was comfortably established in her room.
The staff take
great care of her and she has suffered no more falls since moving here. Any health problems are dealt with promptly.
Her room and all public rooms are clean and very comfortable.
The staff treat residents as family members, visitors and families in a similar manner.
Moving her here has given our family a great deal of peace of mind and I would recommend the home to anyone.

The Manor House continues to provide the highest quality of care to my mother who has been in their care over three years. She has been extremely ill at times but through their diligence and excellent care she has maintained a decent quality of life and as a family we are so grateful. During the recent
lockdown, the staff have had weekly contact set up via video calls so that we can see our Mum, talk to her and ask nursing staff any relevant questions. We have also been kept well informed on updates and Government regulations through regular emailed letters from The Care Home Manager.

The care and attention given to the preparation of Christmas at Manor House was superb. The focus from all the staff was centred around all the residents. Presents were bought in line with residents interests and tasks. Father Christmas visited the Christmas parties and there were carol singers from
young school children to adult choirs. The hard work from all the staff made for a happy and memorable Christmas for everyone.
