Collinson House is situated in the centre of Luton and aims to create an atmosphere which is calm, relaxed and reassuring for older people and those living with dementia.

The home provides residents with a secure, familiar and homely environment including spacious accommodation and modern facilities.

A dedicated team of staff are trained and supervised to provide the highest standard of care while responding sensitively to the evolving needs of the residents within a cherished community.

Residents, care staff, the resident’s doctor and relatives are all given the opportunity to contribute to an agreed care plan. This outlines what the particular needs and wishes of the resident are and establishes the appropriate level of service required.

The home also employs a skilled group of support staff, including cooks, domestics and laundry personnel to enhance the quality of life for each resident.

Residents are encouraged to participate in the activities programme which is organised by the activities co-ordinator.

I cannot recommend Collinson House Care Home highly enough. Moving my father to a care home was the hardest decision of my life. Staff at Collinson House really take good care of the residents. Unfortunately my father had a terrible experience in a different care home and we had to move him. Finding
Collinson House was the best thing we ever did. Although he has advanced dementia and has been through a terrible time, he has flourished there since day one and is both happy and content. It's got a wonderful, homely feel, it's relaxed and visits are a pleasure. It's not showy and corporate like some care homes, it's real. I am confident my dad receives the best care he possibly could and that means the world to me and his family. Well managed, all the staff truly care about and get to know the residents. They are always friendly and helpful. Communication, which is so important, is very good here. The care and service is simply the best.

Superb staff and care.
Our relative with dementia has been in Collinson House Care Home now for several months and so far our experience has been superb. The staff interact with and look after our relative and are caring and the room is always kept clean and respectable.
When compared to a previous
home our relative had the misfortune to go in, this is a hundred times better.
On first glance, the home may not have all mod cons compared to some others but what they do have is ample - don't be fooled by some other high tech homes, it doesn't need glitz, everything is in place to care to a high level and it's about care at the end of the day.
I would 100% recommend this home to someone who wants top-quality care for your family.
Well done on such a great job - please keep it up!

I am delighted to say that this is the perfect care home and setting for my dad. All care provided from personal to social skills and sensory - I can't confess that if my father was in this situation again, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Collinson House again, from great communication with staff, all
concerns dealt with promptly and in good time from all. Hospital visits attended with a member of the team if I can't go. Meals are properly given, and activities are unbelievable. Dedication from the care manager and her fantastic team of carers. Total dedication from all.

Collinson House Care Home have cared for my nan from February 2020. Staff took the time to get to know my nan and her needs and Nan settled well. It was a very difficult time for the whole family and with Covid but Collinson House always kept us informed on how Nan was doing and the care and service
has been of a high standard. Management and staff go above and beyond and are always friendly, approachable, communicate well and listen to the family to provide the best possible care for Nan. My grandad also stayed here for a short time and I want to thank everyone at Collinson House for all the care and dedication they provided and continue to provide for my nan.

My nana needed respite care for two weeks to give my granddad a break, it was such a difficult time due to Covid, we were unable to view the home before admission and was going on feedback from others who had stayed in the home.
We were continually updated on how she was doing, we could call daily
and FaceTime and even see her through the window, she was clean, happy and smiling, it was very difficult to put Nana in the home but the staff were excellent and put the whole family at ease during her stay.
Can not fault the management and staff, they went above and beyond to ensure Nana was happy and we were updated at all times.

My dad stayed here for six weeks after being in hospital for a long time. The staff were brilliant with helping rehabilitate my father and get him back up on his feet. The staff were amazing and my father was always so positive about the staff and how great they were. He thoroughly enjoyed the food
and stated how friendly and loving all the staff were. I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

I had my great-uncle come to Collinson House Care Home until he passed. He was particularly difficult to manage at night time, the manager assured us that his needs will be met. The staff were patient and friendly and made him happy and comfortable in his last days.

Throughout this time she has received excellent care and the staff make Mum as comfortable as she could possibly be. Additionally the Collinson House staff have treated me and my father with

My grandad has always cared for my nan but when he took ill at the beginning of the year we knew he needed a break. My nan went and stayed at Collinson House Care Home for just over a week and I cannot fault the team enough. It was so hard for my grandad to leave her but they kept us informed and reassured.
Nan seemed happy and settled and we got to take care of Grandad for the week. The staff were kind and patient and very approachable. They took great care of Nan.

After spending some time in there for respite, I was amazed at how much all the staff had done for him e.g. helping him get dressed. Started eating more food and soon got back to his old self with the attention of all the lovely and helpful staff. Wonderful manager to talk to if you had any concerns.

It was always going to be difficult leaving our loved one in someone else's care, but the staff at Collinson House helped make it a little bit easier; particularly over the last year with lockdown, the team went the extra mile to keep us up to date with my mum's welfare and keep us in touch as much

My mother has lived at Collinson House for two years and I am very happy with the quality of care she receives on a daily basis. I had been looking for a care home for some time and was immediately taken with the level of cleanliness and how professional and friendly the staff were. There was no doubt
about it - this was the best care home for my mother. Throughout the pandemic, it's clear to me the staff have worked extremely hard to maintain such a high standard of care. This is an extremely well-run care home.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking to put a family member in. All staff are kind, friendly and generous. All management teams are excellent, they go above and beyond their call of duty and I felt my grandad was very looked after at all times and listened to his requests and well-loved
like their only family. Sadly grandad passed in February. I can call my Nan whenever I want without any trouble the carers always have time for me. My nan is still in the home and is very happy. Many thanks to all those who cared for my grandad.

At the beginning of 2020, we had to make the decision to find my nana a care home. My mum came across Collinson House and without hesitation, this was our choice. Nana received the best care we could have hoped for during 2020 with the lockdown. We felt reassured that Nana was in the best place, being
looked after. We were told regularly about her well-being. Early December 2020 we were informed that Nana was showing the first signs of passing away. We were able to spend quality time with her over the few weeks she had left. Although this was a sad time for us, we knew she was receiving the best care and this was comforting to us. Thank you all at Collinson House for the compassion you put into your jobs.

Moving my mother in law to Collinson House has been life-changing for me and my family. The staff are kind, compassionate and consistently highly professional. They are warm and caring and my mother in law has grown in confidence and developed secure attachments with carers and other residents. The
pandemic has been extremely challenging but the communication honesty and openness of management provides us with peace of mind. Mum is clearly thriving under the care of the Collinson team and physically presents as healthier happier and much more stimulated than where she was previously a resident. She enjoys her food and the social mealtimes and has gained much-needed weight. We are extremely grateful for every member of the team at Collinson.

Hello, my name is Mandy and I am the manager of Collinson House. Having started my career in Nursing I transferred my skills to Health and social care and have over thirty years of experience.


I am a focused and driven manager with a strong belief in developing our team in order to provide exceptional care delivery. I love to spend time with family and friends and enjoy swimming, reading and cooking in my free time.
