I have visited an old friend for the last 2 1/2 years. During his stay at Cotman House I have attended, on average, 5 times per week and on every occasion, I have found an excellent standard of care and cleanliness. Nothing has been too much trouble and the staff go far beyond the "call of duty". Many

I am happy with the care that my mother receives at Cotman House. It is really difficult to make objective assessments, however, since I have no experience with other care homes at all. But, my gut feel is that it is well above the average in the most critical aspect of care.

Initial contact was very positive and helpful and persuaded us to use Cotman House, with a sea view, for a week. Despite this being several days before checking in, when Mum arrived the room was not fully ready, i.e. no table top table, bed moved not facing the TV or the sea view.
Also, the buzzer/alarm
system going so incessantly throughout the stay was very off-putting.
Although it was turned down it was still audible and there must be a better system, not audible to all.
Food good.
Management flexible.

As soon as we were aware of your preference in regards to the layout of the room, we were able to address and accommodate your mother's wishes. We are also happy to report that we have reviewed the audibility of our buzzer/alarm system to ensure they cause minimum disturbance whilst still being an effective means of our residents alerting our team should they require assistance.

While in respite care my daughter died after a short illness. The staff and management cared for me in only what I can call "exemplary" fashion. Thank you for that. When I go into full-time care I hope to go into Cotman House.

My husband spent a week here and was looked after very well. The entire staff treated him with respect and loving care. The rooms were bright and cheerful and all the residents were happy and smiling! Would not mind spending sometime there myself!


On leaving we were invited to call in any time we

were in Felixstowe.


More like a family than anywhere else I visited.

I have lived here for over 2 years and have found it very good. Staff are very nice, the home is kept spotlessly clean and the food is excellent. Residents are treated very well, people that need help get it. Staff are always willing to help. This home has always had a very high standard.

My mother was a resident at Cotman Lodge for 18 months. She needed full-time care after being diagnosed with a terminal illness. Whilst she was well she enjoyed the lovely surroundings especially in the summer months when she liked nothing better than sitting on the patio sitting in the sun looking
at the sea. Sadly she passed away in January 2017 with all the care staff showing her so much compassion and supporting my brother and I.

I have been here since September 2015 after a having a hip replacement at hospital. I have several other medical conditions including osteoporosis, digestion problems all cared for very well by kitchen staff and old age. I am very well cared for by all the staff and the visitors are made welcome at
all times.

My mother has been a resident for almost a year and have found the staff very friendly, caring and eager, not only to settle her in but to support her own needs and allow her dignity, happiness and take part in her sense of humour. She enjoys her life at the home especially all the activities that are
brilliant and varied. Her room is very comfortable and homely and she enjoys the garden. The only negative is the meeting rooms for group activities can get very cramped.

My mother is 102 years old registered blind and needs compete care. She has enjoyed all her 4 and a half years in Cotman House and we think it has given her a new lease of life. She's cheerful and likes the staff and the company and activities with the other residents. We have complete confidence in
all her care. We are thrilled with highest standards of care, comfort and the magnificent equipment for the disabled. The rooms are a delight! The food is marvellous and varied and she enjoys everything and she can ask for her special favourites. The staff could not be kinder, more friendly, professional and caring. I am a retired occupational therapist so can vouch for their proficiency.

Kirsty Allen

Kirsty trained as a qualified nurse and within 6 years she became a Home Manager. She believes that every day is an opportunity to make a difference in someone’s life by making changes to the environment, putting things in place to reduce risk or even just by making someone smile and feel loved.


Kirsty is incredibly enthusiastic and loves that every day at Cotman House is different. Her passion for the role is infectious, and she tries to come up with new ways of working and new ideas on how to improve practice on a daily basis.


Outside of Cotman House, Kirsty enjoys spending time with her family and her miniature Dachshund.
