From the moment mum moved to Avondale, the care she received was first class. She was immediately treated as "part of the family" and we, as her family members, were also always made to feel welcome.
The leadership and communication from management was excellent and this has created an ethos of care
evident in all of the staff.

I first visited Avondale in May 2018 when I was looking for a future home for my mother who has Alzheimer’s disease. I had visited many other homes and, from my point of view, Avondale was the best.


At the end of 2018 it became clear that mom needed to move to Avondale. I contacted the home and

a couple of weeks later, mom was able to move in. Everything was made as easy as possible for both her and I, reducing stresses at this difficult time.


She has a spacious and comfortable room which she has personalised with ornaments, photos and pictures. The staff are wonderful and my mother is full of praise for those caring for her.


She joins in with the plentiful activities and says that she really enjoys the meals.


I am able to relax, knowing that my mother is in the best possible place for her and that she is being very well cared for.

I can't praise time staff at Avondale too highly for the efficient and caring way they looked after my mother for the 2 1/2 years that she was in there care. Mum felt very at home in Avondale and the carers almost became part of our family. I cannot recommend Avondale too highly.

The best care home I have found. I did lots of research before placing our mum in care, researching all reviews and CQC ratings. It's very hard when you have to find somewhere that you can trust with your parent or loved one. From the first enquiry, we were certain this was the place for mum. The care,
attention and dignity afforded to residents is excellent. The staff are so good and you know your loved one is safe and well looked after when you are not there. They also look after relatives well and include you in decisions. Mum had a special diet which was well catered for and she loved her meals all home cooked. When mum was well enough she went to activities and enjoyed them. It's a shame mum wasn't able to enjoy for longer but she was receiving end of life care. It gave mum a loving, caring few weeks where she was well looked after and family were made very welcome 24 hrs a day. Mum had a peaceful end due to the care and attention she received. Highly professional, caring, warm and comfortable. The staff are lovely, warm and welcoming giving a total sense of being in good hands. It is a lovely maintained place so, in spite of the sadness of visiting a very ill father with my young children, the whole experience is very pleasant and comfortable.

After several admissions to the hospital, while having chemotherapy and carers at home, I had a seizure followed by a long spell in hospital. I decided to come to a care home for respite care and my son chose Avondale. My health improved so much the care I received, I have now become a permanent resident.
I really appreciate the expert care of the nurses and all the other staff. I enjoy the activities, the company and the excellent food. We think that compared to the other homes we investigated, that this is the best value.

I always turn up unannounced but my Aunt is clean and tidy, well-fed and comfortable.

The assistance we received from the management to ensure the last days of my aunt were comfortable and peaceful was second to none. The compassion I received from them and the two nurses I came into contact daily was on a personal level and nothing was too much. A very difficult time for me as I don't
live locally but I felt reassured that my aunt had the best care.

My 101-year-old mother went to Avondale for 2 weeks respite from hospital. She decided to become residential as could not manage at home anymore.
She had a wonderful last 4 months of her life there.
The home is clean, modern and comfortable. The staff looked after all her needs. Sometimes beyond the
call of duty.
Nothing was too much trouble. It was home from home. Loved the bistro.

The whole experience although difficult and emotional has been made easier from the first contact up to now.

Very professional, kind, caring, compassionate, confident and competent staff who are experts in their field of Older Adult Care and End of Life Care.
Staff go above and beyond for residents needs and requirements and ensure their needs are met at all times.
Staff are hardworking, polite, and maintain
and deliver the most important quality which is essential in the needs of the older adult which is "empathy, compassion and kindness".
I would recommend Avondale to anyone whether they are a resident or relative looking for somewhere very special to have their parent /grandparent looked after.

The care provided by Avondale care staff is exemplary. My dad is treated with dignity and respect. Staff know him well; what he likes and dislikes and how to manage him when he is having a bad day. The meals are excellent and home clean and comfortable. Communication between staff and my family is frequent
and appropriate, both formal and informally. It is an outstanding home!

My mum's health in "mind" was deteriorating so she was moved to a different unit. The transfer was handled extremely efficiently and my mum was treated with dignity and respect. She has settled very well and is very happy and content. She loves her new "home" and unit staff love having her. I would
like to thank all staff for looking after her so well during this transition.
