My mother stayed at the home for respite care following the sudden death of my father. She was there just over 2 months. The home was more like a 5-star hotel and the staff were all so helpful.
My mother gained much-needed weight and is now ready to live back at home with some care support.
I would
recommend Avondale Care Home to anyone.

I enjoy living here at Avondale Care Home, the staff are wonderful and provided excellent care. I enjoy the activities such as bowling. I'm very fond of the bus trips, the food is very good here.

My first reaction on first entering Avondale was "what a homely place" from the top management down to the cleaners. I have never seen a face that wasn't smiling and welcoming. As a twice-weekly visitor coming with the wife of a resident patient. I have been made most comfortable in the Bistro. All
of the relatives I have met cannot speak too highly of the care and patience their relatives have received. I wish I had lived in the Aylesbury area when I needed a care home for my mother. I would have looked no further than Avondale Care Home.

Since I've lived at Avondale Care Home I have met many friendly kind and helpful people. I attend all the activities and thoroughly enjoy them all. The food at Avondale Care Home is of a great standard similar to home baking.

The staff at Avondale Care Home are amazing in their willingness and ability to help and support us in coping with dad's end of life needs and ability to communicate and explain all care given to dad effectively. The staff was very informative and strongly believe in interdisciplinary team work. Due
to my dad's complex health and cultural needs your staff managed to arrange all necessary care through liaison with other teams such as palliative care team and GP to ensure that care was delivered effectively and efficiently, Avondale Care Home was able to deliver a comprehensive transcultural and culturally sensitive care to my dad as well as supporting the family through difficult times.

Exceptional professionalism and patient-person centred care for the cared for and carers/families demonstrated at all times.
Pro-active and unexpected kind, safe, care at the start of our young, early onset Alzheimer journey in a nursing home by the activity coordinator, the housekeeping, reception
and nursing/care giving team.
With this quality support, we have been able to successfully undertake a scan - the 1st since our diagnosis. Thank you all at Avondale for looking after us now and hopefully for a little longer so we can enjoy our time together.

Fantastic partnership has been established with the leisure and activity coordinators at Avondale for the past 2 years. The team are always very supportive and accommodating when working alongside our volunteers. All of the young people who we work with, have been given the opportunity to work with
the wellness team to provide activities for the residents, have had a great experience. We look forward to working with the team and will continue to develop our working relationship.

If you are looking for a care home - look no further! Avondale Care Home is wonderful. The carers and all staff are amazing. Both my parents were residents from November 2013. My Mum died in October 2014 - so it is just my Dad that is there and he has Alzheimer's. From the moment you walk into the building,
you are greeted with warmth and smiling faces. Dad is looked after in a kind way and with dignity. Staff are patient and understanding and always have a sense of humour. The trouble and lengths two carers went to, to enable my Dad to come to my Mum's funeral was just incredible. Just outstanding. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My grandmother passed away this July. Her care prior to this event was always superb. However, during the time of her passing, it was exemplary. As a family, we were told it was a privilege for the staff to provide her palliative care, during her last days. The team at Avondale are talented and compassionate
people; who care for the resident and their family (all generations).

My father went to Avondale when he was in need of end of life care.
They came out to see my parents at their home to assess my father's needs, quickly, competently, compassionately, and with professionalism.
This was a big step for my mother to have to let her husband go into a home, they made her
feel at ease and reassured her, they instantly became people who we trusted. they also made sure dad was involved.
My dad was not in Avondale for very long, just 6 days, but in this time we felt free and welcomed to come and go as we pleased, nothing felt like to much trouble.
My dad was always spoken to and addressed whenever nursing staff entered the room, he was always told what they were doing and why even though dad was unresponsive it was important that he was included and talked to, not about.
In such a short time - it became our home away from home.
Dad could not have died in a more peaceful, calm, environment with respect for his needs/wishes and ours. They care for the individual.

I was very reluctant to move my much loved 96-year-old father, who had advanced Alzheimer's, into a care home. However, the time came when I had no choice. My father initially went to Avondale for two weeks respite care, but we quickly realised that he was happier and better looked after there, and
so he became a permanent resident. I cannot speak highly enough of the care he received. The facilities are excellent, but it is the people who are really important in such circumstances, and everyone - the Care Home Manager, the Client Services Manager, the nursing and care staff - were all wonderful. They were kind, warm, caring, respectful and professional. I was encouraged to visit any time and even allowed to bring our dog. And in his last three days, when I stayed with him, all the staff were so kind and considerate to me too - making up a bed for me beside him and making sure that I had food and lots of cups of tea. I cannot recommend Avondale highly enough.

Difficult to be constructive when we don't see our relative 99% of the time and he isn't in a position to articulate his feelings. I would like to think that being bed bound he would get company just for the sake of company, rather than only when care is required, but it's impossible to know whether
that is happening. I suspect he needs more help with meals, but again I don't know a) If he does and b)whether he gets it if it's required. He usually appears clean, tidy, clean shaven and in clean clothes although not always.

My mother and father moved into Avondale in October 203. The staff immediately made them feel welcomed, settled and secure. Dad is still very alert mentally and the staff and management encourage him to participate in many activities including interviewing staff which keeps him stimulated. Mum has dementia
but enjoys music therapy. The care given to both is wonderful and I am so grateful to all.

My experience at Avondale Care Home has been really good. I have been working with the activity coordinators, they have been great to work with. They were welcoming from the first day I started and they have involved me in all activities. They have good personalities and are enthusiastic. The care home
is very clean, the staff are friendly, the residents are treated with respect and dignity and overall it's a good care home.

I have experience in quality, service improvement and redesign, which demonstrates my commitment to quality assurance and improvement in healthcare. I apply quality, service improvement and redesign tools and methodologies to enhance patient experience and safety, drive positive change and aim for excellence in healthcare services.


As the Client Services Manager, I emphasise the importance of the emotional journey into care, especially from a family perspective. I am committed to being there every step of the way to provide support and guidance in the client services process at Avondale.
