Godswell Park is a luxury care home, providing residential and nursing care, with en-suite rooms providing extensive views over eight acres of landscaped and fully accessible grounds in the village of Bloxham, near Banbury in Oxfordshire.

It is the first standalone general nursing home solely for older people in England out of the 18,000 registered with the CQC to achieve a score of 'Outstanding' in all five inspection areas.

The many sitting rooms and an in-house cinema and activities area allow residents to enjoy either a quiet period of reflection, socialise and be entertained.

Residents can chat with visitors and fellow residents and engage in the wealth of activities on offer.

Godswell Park has its own beauty therapist and a sun therapy room which uses technology imported from Sweden, to allow residents and their visitors to enjoy simulated natural daylight even during the darkest days of winter.

Godswell Park boasts one of the best restaurants in the area, with the choice of menu updated daily to make the most of fresh seasonal produce and locally sourced ingredients.

A coffee lounge is open all day for residents who would like to meet their friends and chat. Private parties and celebrations are particularly encouraged.

I have lived here for few years and have found the care to be excellent. The food is delicious and very healthy. The entertainment is very varied and all-inclusive. We are encouraged to be independent when possible.

I have lived for six years in a retirement apartment within the grounds of the care home and been a visitor almost daily, to the care home itself.
I commend particularly the surrounding, peaceful, well cared for colourful garden. It presents well for the reception area, which is made adequately by
comfortable, well-chosen furnishing, tidiness, cleanliness, colour and a warm welcome - frequently to the background of soft music. All staff appear happy, courteous and friendly. I personally appreciate not (automatically) being spoken to by my first name.
There is an attitude of efficiency and care throughout - particularly in nursing, encouraging activities to be enjoyed. Preparation of food served in restaurant-style and when requested in ones own room.
I tick recommended -extremely like with confidence.

The general ambience on reaching this home is so good, beautiful place with lovely gardens and a most welcoming reception. A total feeling of calm.
The care received by my husband was excellent and consistent. Very real care and kindness enabled him to cope with his problems. There was a feeling of
being part of a family team and that he was one of their own. We could not have wished for better care.

Self-interest prevents me from giving a positive review of Godswell Park since I would desire to take permanent residence there should circumstances arise sometime in the near future - others may get in first. The setting of Godswell Park is so tranquil and spacious both inside and out. Community rooms
are informal, securing their purpose which would be hard to better. Outside gardens are beautiful with many outstanding features, access is easy and staff are always on hand to give assistance with wheelchairs, zimmer frames etc. A small flock of sheep give an added interest. Catering is all in house and would be hard to beat anywhere.

Godswell Park set in picturesque grounds is more like a five-star hotel than a care home. Peacefully set in the village of Bloxham. It is a perfect sanctuary in which to reside. My mother was recovering from a fall and was given first-class attention in a dignified and calm manner by wonderful staff
led by a very caring management team. She was nursed back to health with her every need met, all the pressures of daily life were covered for her and she was treated like royalty. Exceptional menu and food quality. Very friendly capable staff and a delight to visit. Godswell is the best.

I visited my aunt who was staying at Godswell in May for respite following a fall at her home.
I was impressed by the support provided to help her return home and gain her confidence again. The staff seemed to offer consistent encouragement which was very much needed.
My aunt who was not initially
keen to go into a care home had high praise for all the staff at the home. She especially enjoyed the food after having such a poor appetite over the last few months and thankfully gained some much-needed weight.
Staff were welcoming and there was such a warm atmosphere in the home. My aunt felt pampered and cared for.
My aunt is planning her next stay but as she has said it would be for a mini holiday.

What a beautiful and welcoming home.
I visited my uncle who expressed how happy and well looked after he felt. He greeted staff by name and seemed to have a good relationship with them.
I was impressed there was also group activities on during the weekend.
Staff were smiling and looked as they enjoyed
being at Godswell.
We had tea and cake from the afternoon tea trolley which was amazing.
Nice to see management at the home on a weekend.
Having visited I can see why it is rated outstanding. Good to know that care of this standard can be achieved.

Following a successful respite stay in 2017, my mother has returned to Godswell for two further periods of respite care. She was extremely well cared for, and participated in numerous activities, including flower arranging and quizzes. She especially enjoyed a visit one afternoon from two Shetland
ponies. My mother wouldn't consider staying anywhere else!

Godswell Park is an exceptional home and fully deserves it's "outstanding" rating in all 5 areas from the CQC. My friend has been there for three very happy years and I often dine with him. The food and service is incredible and I have paid the same amount for my lunches from the outset and about half
the price of the local pub!
I would love to end my own days at Godswell.

My mother spent 6 happy years at Godswell and such was the outstanding standard at Godswell that we always claimed it must be the best care home in the country. This was officially born out by the CQC inspection which uniquely gave Godswell its highest ever marks.

My mother has been at Godswell for over a year. The staff are friendly, kind and compassionate and no request appears too much. She has made a few new friends amongst the residents and enjoys the numerous activities and outings that are available.
Food has always been an important part of her life
and the meals at Godswell are simply divine, the chefs go out of their way to spoil her with her favourite dishes.
The housekeeping and laundry staff should be proud - they keep the place spotless and I get regular positive feedback from my mother who has an eye for such details. The recent CQC accolades did not come as a surprise to my family, it's simply well-deserved recognition for the amazing team at Godswell.

I stayed at Godswell Park Care Home for several days following surgery.
I found the staff to be most helpful, friendly and efficient. Nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. The room and facilities were exceptional including the gardens. I would definitely recommend this care home.

Godswell Park is a very comfortable, well-appointed and welcoming care home with modern facilities and an exceptional garden with wide, wheelchair friendly paths, a summer house, pergolas and plenty of areas to sit in the shade. Food is prepared on site by an excellent chef and residents can choose
when and where to eat, either in the privacy of their rooms or in the restaurant. The most important feature of Godswell however, is the staff. I have rarely come across a team of people so dedicated to caring for the elderly. I was very impressed by the constant cheerfulness and good humour, the gentle care and thoughtfulness, the discreet courtesy and respect at all times, the attention to detail, the sincerity of the smiles and the general consideration shown to my mother in her final years. This is no doubt due to rigorous staff selection, management and continual in-house training. The milk of human kindness has been very much appreciated by me and my family.

I cannot speak more highly of this residential care home. All the staff go out of their way to care for their residents. My aunt, in particular, was treated like a Queen and she loved her time at Godswell.
It is set in beautiful surroundings as well, which we could just wander into and sit by a statue
or under a pagoda. The dining room was also a place of care and amazing food. The chef was very good dealing with my aunt's particular dislikes. I was just astounded by how people cared and loved their jobs. This has to come from top people in management. Thank you Godswell.

Godswell Park must qualify as one of the best Care Homes in England.

I visit it almost weekly and it has a very happy atmosphere. My old friend has been there almost a year and is always saying how kind and helpful the many staff are.

It has been beautifully built so all the bedrooms are full
of light and the food is delicious so it is a treat when my friend asks me to lunch.

It has a charming garden and both a doctor and dentist surgery 100 yards away. If you have to become old and frail it is as nice as anything can be.

Godswell Park is an outstanding care home. They consider every small detail to be important which makes all the difference. My previous neighbour has been there for three months and has found a new lease of life! They have so many activities and interesting things for the residents to do which gives
them a sense of independence. The staff could not be more attentive and caring. The restaurant is wonderful with great variety and a lovely atmosphere, it really does not fell like a care home, more like a very smart restaurant! A real home from home. I am delighted to see my neighbour so happy.
