Anchor's Montrose Hall is located at the centre of the community in Wigan. The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 41 customers. The home has been designed with the care of its customers at the heart of the design, where each room has an en suite wet room.

Montrose Hall's dedicated care team takes the time to get to know the individual and works with them and their loved ones to create detailed care plans which ensure their care needs are continually met.

The home provides dementia care and on-going training to ensure the care staff's approach is best for customers living with dementia and recognise that everyone is an individual.

Care staff work hard to get to know customers, build relationships and ensure all aspects of the service provided are focused on individual and compassionate care.

Montrose Hall is part of Anchor, which operates on a not-for-profit basis. They reinvest the money made into its retirement properties and care homes, allowing them to continually raise standards and provide a high-quality service to surpass customers' expectations.

Mum has been a resident at Montrose for the last eighteen months, it is very reassuring to know that she is being well cared for, twenty-four hours a day, by friendly, helpful, caring staff.
The Covid crisis has been very worrying for everyone but knowing Mum is safe and well is very reassuring.
Not being able to visit is hard but also very necessary to keep everyone, residents and staff, at Montrose Hall safe and well. We are able to keep in touch with our relatives by telephone calls and receive updates via email and Facebook. There are always plenty of activities to keep the residents happy and entertained.

My Mum has been in the care of Montrose Hall for almost 2 years. We have found the home to be clean, modern and comfortable and the staff friendly and professional. Mum enjoys the food especially. They have coped well during the virus and although probably more strict than other homes it is for the
resident’s protection. They have lots of activities going on and try really hard to keep everyone involved. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Montrose Hall is a fantastic care home our mum is looked after and cared for 24 hours a day. No task is too much for any of the staff that work there and they have been excellent during lockdown and always. Thank you, highly recommend.

My mum is treated with respect and dignity. All staff ensure residents are made to feel special, they are cared for well ensuring they are dressed and hair done. It has been very difficult this year with no visiting but when I ring I always get the information I ask for and particularly like to see
the FaceBook posts with all the activities. The staff have been tremendous through this pandemic and have put residents first. The food has also been excellent and varied. My mum loves her food!!

We are really pleased with the care Mum receives - the staff are patient, caring and friendly, and they do not hesitate to "go the extra mile" if needed. Mum is very happy there.
The staff have been brilliant during the covid crisis and it has been a relief to know that Mum is in a safe environment.
We have been kept up-to-date with all aspects of Mum's care and health throughout. They have a good system of testing in place which is reassuring.
I am particularly pleased that visiting has been very restricted, as I do not want visitors admitted that might infect either residents or staff.

Montrose Hall staff are very friendly. Very clean, very hospitable. The meals very good at all times.
The staff are very helpful and give me tea and biscuits each visit 3 hours every day

This is more like a family than a 'care home' where people are cared for.
Excellent relationships between carers, residents and their families.
Nothing is too much trouble.
'If it's not good enough for us it's not good enough for our residents' heard all the time.
Care and support given to the
residents is second to none.
Always something going on - trips, entertainment, bingo, exercising, to name but a few.

As a family, we owe so much to the staff of this fabulous home. When my father was in the end stage of bowel cancer they looked after him like one of their own family. My mother is also in the home and has advanced Alzheimers, the care she receives is first class, we could not wish for a better home.

My mother has been a resident here since October 2015 and in this time we have experienced many challenges due to the progression of her dementia and also the amount of time it took her to feel settled. The staff at Montrose Hall have been fantastic and given my mother lots of reassurance and treat
all the residents with understanding and kindness.
They have also given us as a family lots of support and have dealt with any concerns professionally and promptly. I would not have any reservations recommending Montrose Hall.
