The home was always very clean & all the staff - including night staff - were helpful, warm, friendly and professional. We had no worries leaving our mum in their care. She was happy during the time she spent there for palliative care and they looked after us all as a family and not just our mum. We
would have no hesitation in highly recommending Beechdale Manor to anyone.

My dad has been a resident here for several months now and has settled really quickly. His needs have changed a lot since he has been there but the staff have always accommodated his every need and done everything they can to help him and encourage him to be as independent as possible. All the staff
are really friendly and helpful and have supported both him and us, as a family, to transition to living in care. I am now able to sleep at night knowing that my dad is getting the care that he needs and is being really looked after.

This is a wonderful place where the carers treat the residents with kindness, love and dignity. My sister spent three years here until she died on April 19th and she was really looked after - she adored the carers, they were like family to her and to us.

The care that is given is generally very good. Any issues that crop up are dealt with in a timely manner and adjusted to the required needs. Mum is very happy here and safe. Care needs are met over and above what is required and the staff are very friendly, chatty and have a good degree of understanding.
If Mum is not feeling well and don't hesitate to take action. Sometimes more staff are needed for residents.

All staff and managers are very helpful and friendly. The facilities and rooms are all very good. I know my wife is in a safe and secure home with around-the-clock care.

My mum is 99 and blind. She is looked after extremely well at Beechdale Manor. We know all of the staff by name and they are kind and caring to us and to our mum. The home is clean and warm and the food is amazing. I can wholeheartedly recommend this home - it's full of love and kindness.

My husband was in Beechdale for 12 months during that time he was happy and contented. The home he was in before was very noisy which didn't suit him. Beechdale was calmer for him. Sadly my husband died on July 21st, just a couple of hours before his 94th Birthday. I can honestly say that knowing he
was being looked after so well put me more at ease. I try to help the home by supporting them in their fundraising.

My aunt was tricky to look after since she not only had dementia but she had gone back to her birth language and had forgotten most of her English. Because of a stroke, she also had a speech impediment. However, she was lovingly looked after and kept clean and happy. When she was dying, the home phoned
the GP and was told to get an ambulance. Since it was an expected death, they disobeyed and held her hand until she died rather than dying in an ambulance.

Upon viewing a couple of other care homes we all decided this one was the absolute best for my mum with dementia, with a couple of mental health issues the caring team assisted my mum in improving her wellbeing and fear of everything. The staff are amazing and each and every one of them are fabulous.
I couldn't have chosen a better care home for my mum. She's been there almost a year now and settled down brilliantly. She loves the staff and they all love her, The acting manager is an absolute gem, that has everybody's needs catered for.

We looked at about 10 care homes before we chose Beechdale Manor Care Home for Mum. We made the decision based on how we thought the staff would care for her. She spent 9 months there before she passed away in March. We are glad that she stayed there. Mum had dementia which progressively got worse.
But the care team were always kind, she was always clean and they always kept my brother and me up to date on matters of medical concern. They genuinely cared for her. Sometimes the response to emails and concerns was a bit slow. But they got the main things right and we would recommend Beechdale Manor.

My sister came to Beechdale for palliative care following treatment for brain cancer. From the moment she arrived, the staff took incredible care of her. She loved them. She had a lovely room overlooking the garden and the manager and staff took pains to ensure she was safe, comfortable and relaxed
right up to the end. I cannot recommend the manager and her team highly enough. Please be assured your beloved family member will be treated as one of their own. The teamwork is excellent, all the staff are exceptionally warm and caring. When my time comes I intend to book a room there for myself. Thanks to all for making my sister's last few weeks so comfortable.

After a tough couple of weeks when we couldn't see Mum we wanted to make her birthday extra special. The staff couldn't do enough to help us with a cinema afternoon. Helped us to set up and get comfortable and not minding at all when we were in full voice with a musical! Mum loved it!

Mum suffered a mini-stroke and the carers got her onto the bed and back to us. They contacted the ambulance service who sent the first responder team to check her over as we didn't want Mum to go into the hospital with all that would entail. The management and staff agreed to care for her on end of
life. As always the staff at Beechdale Manor Care Home were fantastic right up until Mum passed away on Tuesday the 17th of January. All staff were wonderful to Mum always treating her with love and respect. We cannot praise them enough all the way through this sad time.

This is dads third care home and I can't stress enough how lovely the team at Beechdale Manor Care Home are. They are all so genuine, caring and positive. They listen and communicate so well with family. Dad says it is like home from home and is smiling most days. I can actually sleep at night now having

If this was being written a few months ago, it would be very different - we had a number of concerns, and it became apparent that we were not alone. However, a few months on and I'm very pleased to say that, for us, Beechdale manor has been transformed.
New management, and what seems to be a big changeover
of staff, have made a huge impact. We have seen genuine, meaningful improvements to Mum's quality of life, her mobility and her general wellbeing.
Things that should have always been in place (but weren't) such as video calls are now standard, and the whole building feels cleaner and a much more pleasant environment. Communication and availability of staff and management are much improved
I believe rooms are due to be refurbished, which is needed, and I think would be the final stage of a remarkable turnaround.
But the biggest, most significant change is that you can now sense a genuine desire to give the residents the best quality of life they can. Thank you All!

Mum has been very difficult to pacify over the past few months, so to see her much calmer and happier is obviously down to the much improved caring attitude of staff and management. Everybody now seems very approachable and always willing to help.

I just wanted to express my appreciation for the staff and the new manager at the home. In the last few months I have seen fantastic changes to my loved one's living experience and I cannot thank the team enough. The improvements made deserve to be shouted out and I am particularly grateful for the
physical refreshing of the home - it is clean and the new organisation on each floor is brilliant - there are now designated spaces to watch TV, or listen to music, and having a section completely dedicated to activities, all means that my mum can decide what she would like to do in her day. The staff are amazing and completely accommodating to my mum's wants and needs - they are warm and friendly and really wanting to help make the experience the best it can be. Having a loved one live in a care home is never easy but the manager and her team have made it all a little lighter - they are honestly like an extended family and my mum really loves having them as her new friends. Massive thanks!

What can I say, clearly saving the best till last!
Since the new manager has arrived to take out, what a transformation.
There is a different feel and aura to the home very warm and calm.
This new manager has integrity, if she tells you that she will call you back or do something, her word is her
bond, the new manager and her team have and are doing a really wonderful, and at times, very difficult job as well as the pressures that Covid has brought.
The home is a place of calm, laughter, care, compassion and kindness.
Thank you that the care home truly has someone at the helm who is person-centred and wants the best for both residents, staff and families.
Lucky to have effective, clear and boundaries management in the new manager. Thank you to every member of staff who are instrumental in the caring of the home.

My father was taken to hospital on 24th August. He had fallen and got chest pains, was not told about the fall. Went to get some belongings for him, I was refused and told they are not mine so not allowed them. He has been given weeks to live so not able to walk. They eventually got me some clothes.
He also wanted other bits, they have been removed and put in the safe so that I couldn't get them. I am his next of kin. This behaviour is so not professional, he has nothing of value to have. So rude some staff are and sitting on personal mobile phones in the corridor when residents need help.

A carer was attending to your father and he mentioned that he was having chest pains, the nurse attended immediately and 999 called. You were called immediately afterwards and before the paramedics arrived. Your father did not fall, I apologise if anybody within the home or hospital conveyed this to you.
Due to current Covid guidelines, access to the care home is subject to restrictions and we are unfortunately unable to allow unhindered access. I apologise again if these restrictions were not properly explained to you. A staff member did retrieve the items you requested, and they were handed to you at the time of your visit.
We do have a safe available and subject to any legal restrictions there would be no reason why these should not be collected by yourself.
We have an electronic care planning system and devices used do resemble mobile phones.
