Overall I would recommend this place. This is the first home my mum has been a resident of; they made the whole process incredibly easy for both my mum and I. The place is neat, tidy and has the appearance of more a hotel than a care home. Food has generally been good. There have been a few teething
issues, but not sure whether this is related to my mum needing to come to terms with her fraility or other issues. I have always found the staff to be pleasant and friendly, and willing to discuss any concerns and address these quickly and with little fuss

The home is very clean and welcoming. The staff are always extremely helpful and not only answer all of our questions but prompt us for information that would help our relative.

My mother was welcomed by the management, staff and care staff and settled into her beautiful room overlooking the garden. She called Gracewell's home from the start. Mummy really enjoyed the variety of food in the bright dining room and when unable to go to the dining room food was taken to her. She
gained muscle strength in her limbs with going up and down the corridor and enjoyed going downstairs and joining in the activities especially music. The send off when Mummy passed was with dignity and love.

Gracewell of Kentford accommodation is top class. Always clean and cosy. The staff are excellent, well trained to care for my mother and give her security and care and support 24 hours a day. Nothing is ever too much trouble for her from the manager to the cleaning staff they always have the care and
comfort of the residents at heart.
I would not want her to be anywhere else.

The attention to detail given, when it comes to the care each resident- is unbelievable. The carers are kind, gentle, polite and above all respectful to the residents in their care.


When visiting my mum, I am always welcomed in, with lots of smiles, all staff and residents look genuinely pleased

to be there.
Its nicely decorated, the food is very good- with plenty of variety and alternatives on offer if needed... and the opportunity for friends/relatives to join mum for dinner.


The residents have plenty of activities to get involved in if they want to, ranging from Tai Chi to flower arranging, crafts, making bird feeders, visiting entertainers etc etc

Excellent Management Team with happy staff, they are warm, friendly, approachable, compassionate and understanding of residents' needs from day to day, to long term planning for ongoing care. Residents en-suite rooms are light and bright, lounge and dinning areas are sunny and very comfortable.
I have
recommended this lovely home to many people and often talk of how we enjoy our visits, as you step into reception you are welcomed with a smile, going through into the lounge with coffee and freshly baked cakes is always a "to do", there are choices of varied activities for residents and family to enjoy together, a relaxed comfortable environment for all.

On entering Gracewell of Kentford, there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere and this runs throughout the home. Staff are always pleasant, even when busy or dealing with an emergency. All staff acknowledge/welcome me but housekeeping and carers, day and night, greet me with such warmth and respect it
is both heartening and reassuring.
I know my father is being well looked after physically, emotionally and spiritually (he used to be able to say his prayers, carers have been known to google prayers to say with him). I am also present often enough to witness the respect and patience with which other residents are treated. Staff seem to work well as a team to provide best care for even the most demanding residents. I have in the past had a few issues with communication but at the moment feel very confident that I will be contacted, day or night, as necessary.
Until her death in July, my mother was a resident (residential and nursing) and I visit a friend on nursing on a weekly basis, I am very familiar with Gracewell.

First impression, as you walk in, is that you are very warmly welcomed.
All areas are kept very clean, the staff are very caring and the residents seem happy and content.
I especially like to take my family down to have a coffee/tea in the lounge.

My father spent 20 months at Gracewell of Kenford. He was very happy throughout his residency. The quality of care was always good and some of the personal support he received was outstanding. All the team at this care home are managed well. The accommodation was always clean and tidy. The food provided
for residents was good and varied to suit personal tastes. The entertainment team provided excellent activities. Individual carers gave excellent interpersonal support.

Gracewell continues to care for my mother as I had hoped it would. From the feedback I receive from my mother there appears to be much more to praise than criticize, consequently, I am happy in the knowledge that if she has to have this kind of care and residential facility, Gracewell is by far the

Gracewell Kentford have been excellent and welcoming. The staff have been warm, friendly and generally very well informed about the resident. We have dropped in randomly every day and the level of staffing has always been good. The staff have had time to talk to different members of the family, some
of whom have travelled some distance. It is easy to get refreshments to share with the resident which makes visits seem more natural. The care home has had a very good reputation locally for many years and that reputation is well deserved. It is traumatic putting a family member in a care home but that process has been made as smooth as possible.

My mother has been at Gracewell for three months now and she has settled well. The care and attention she receives is very professional and caring. The staff tend to her needs and requests without question. I am very happy that she is now safely cared for in a high quality residence.

Excellent overall. All staff very considerate, helpful and understanding. That is all staff, including receptionists, admin staff, cleaners, maintenance personnel, laundry and restaurant staff. The food provided is varied, to order on occasions and a very good standard by catering. The care staff are
considerate, very patient, professional and most helpful in my experience. The management team also have a professional and excellent attention to care and any problems that arise.

My aunt has been here for several years and is now on the Nursing Wing. She receives excellent care from patient, understanding and sympathetic staff, who strive to make her life as comfortable and meaningful as they can. This is against a backdrop of stubborn and sometimes difficult behaviour because
of my aunt's longstanding and deep anxiety issues. Their cheerful, affectionate and determined efforts now see her socialising much more, she is much happier in herself and feels secure and cared for. Thank you!

My father has been at Gracewell of Kentford since January 2018. When I visited the home for the first time, I was impressed with the fact that all members of staff were warm, friendly, and helpful. My father has told me on many occasions that he is very happy and this reflects the care and comfort that
he enjoys. He was, prior to coming into Gracewell, very vulnerable at home, and my brothers and I were all very concerned for his wellbeing. We have all now been able to relax in the knowledge that he is safe, well cared for and happy.

My mother is very happy and settled in Gracewell. She really feels at home and the staff have been excellent in looking after her. At the age of 96, she still enjoys her food and really looks forward to the excellent meals being served at Gracewell. Mum joins in with activities which we never thought
she would and looks forward to music and bingo each week. We couldn't wish for mum to be looked after any better than the care she receives. It gives us all great peace of mind to know she is safe and happy.

I have 20 years of experience in the care industry, most recently working as a manager for a large domiciliary and complex care agency.


I joined Care UK for the opportunities it would open as one of the UK’s leading care providers.


As a manager, I think the most important part of my role is listening. It's also essential to be empathetic, able to prioritise and have a good sense of humour.


Any time I can spend talking to residents and my team is my favourite part of the day. Seeing residents and their families happy makes me feel fulfilled in my role.


When I’m not working, I enjoy singing and walking my Dalmatian.
