Nestled in the 'Rose of the Shires', Northamptonshire, Elm Bank Care Home is a spacious and inviting residence in Kettering with great access to local amenities. Members of staff get to know everyone individually so they can provide a high quality lifestyle and activities that each resident will enjoy. The home welcomes respite and long term residents.

Bedrooms are divided between a community for people with lower care needs, a separate supported living house and a dementia care community. Elm Bank also has a premium respite suite for short-stay guests. Each community has its own living and dining rooms, with private dining options for visiting families and special occasions. Furnishings and décor throughout the home are of a high standard and offer a homely and comfortable feel.

There is a secure private garden in the centre of the grounds, a patio area to the rear of the home and a Victorian summer house - all perfect for outdoor socialising.

Meals are prepared by trained chefs who offer a varied daily menu and tailor meals to individual preferences. Residents may eat in the restaurant-style dining room or in their own rooms if preferred. All dietary requirements are catered for.

A dedicated Activities Coordinator plans a busy programme of daily events for residents to take part in if they wish. Residents also help to plan activities, outings and entertainment that they will enjoy, to make sure there is something for everyone.

My Aunt has been a resident at Elm Bank since August 2018 having moved from Dunstable to be nearer to me.
I have found the home to be excellent and have been extremely impressed by the care and attention given to my Aunt.
In particular, the senior carer on floor 2 has been professional, caring and
friendly.

We pleased mum here for emergency respite care following a short illness. The staff and management were friendly and helpful. They adjusted quickly to meet mum's needs and requests. After speaking to the assistant manager an issue with drain in the bathroom was resolved. As the daughter, I felt mum
was well looked after and cared for.

Elm Bank could be seen as expensive but when compared with other care homes charging slightly less the overall quality is worth the extra. It is hard to adjust to a life in a care home after being independent all your life but Elm Bank try very hard to make residents overcome this issue. Food is important
as it has to suit all tastes sometimes can be bland. Only real issue which can be readily seen is the often staffing levels are low - overall good care.

Since her arrival mum (and all the family) have felt welcomed. The staff, although very busy, always make time to ensure she is comfortable and happy. They have always shown the utmost care and professionalism. Food is varied for all palates and appetites.

My mother is a resident on the third floor at Elm Bank Care Home. She has progressive dementia. All staff that come into contact with floor three ie, most staff are very understanding, compassionate towards mum. All staff are caring and courteous to both visitors and clients. Nothing is too much trouble. Always having time to discuss any problems/issues that may have arisen.

I think the care home is fantastic, but I think it is very expensive. But, I can't fault the care that they give. When a resident works hard and saves for their retirement and unfortunately has to go into care and all their money is going that quick. That is my opinion. I was in a lot of care homes
for my mother when she was alive and this is the best one.

My every need was catered for. I came for a rest and got it in abundance. All staff were caring and very kind. Food was delicious and was readily available. I came for 2 weeks to recover from a fracture. This was certainly achieved. Not sure I want to go home.

I have been a registered nurse for 18 years. I trained at St Bartholomew School of Nursing, City University London. I worked in a large London hospital for many years before relocating to Northamptonshire with my husband several years ago to start a family.


My experience is varied having worked in a variety of settings including local hospitals, rehabilitation units, and community and nursing homes. I have 6 years of management experience and I thoroughly enjoy equipping staff with knowledge and skills to help them to give their best to our residents and enjoy their work.


I love working for Barchester and feel privileged to be leading a great team and ensuring our residents are provided with quality service that meets each individual needs. Hi, my name is Sharntelle and I am the Senior Head Chef at Elm Bank Care Home.


I ensure we offer a choice of delicious meals, three times a day, to meet residents' food preferences and dietary needs. I love cooking and I take the time to speak to residents about what food they enjoyed or weren't so keen on. We include special requests and residents' favourites in our menus, and we provide cakes and biscuits to go with morning and afternoon refreshments.


We also cater for special events, food-related activities and all the birthdays and other celebrations here at Elm Bank. I manage the great kitchen team here which includes a Second Chef, Kitchen Assistants and Dining Hosts.

I support residents to make sure their everyday health needs are provided for, including issuing prescribed medication and carrying out regular health checks. I enjoy the company of residents and I take pride in making sure they are comfortable and have everything they need. I enjoy listening to their life stories and reminiscing over photos. I like helping with Elm Bank’s activities and meal times too, making sure the whole team encourages residents to participate and socialise.

Hello. I am Jill and I have lived at Elm Bank for many years so I know the staff really well. I enjoy attending all the activities and I always want to try the new things offered here. I help to put up decorations for special events throughout the year, to create a celebratory atmosphere. Staff and residents work together to make special days really enjoyable. I am a confident person and it is part of my role to liaise with the General Manager any residents who want to express their wishes but are unable to do so. Hello, my name is Tina and I am the Activities Coordinator here at Elm Bank Care Home.


I joined Elm Bank in May 2023 as a Team Leader soon becoming the Head of Care before moving to the role of Activities Coordinator and leading the team in January 2024. My passion is to provide life-enriching activities that enhance the lives of our residents.


By providing entertainment that is not only stimulating but person-centred. Our weekly calendar offers rich experiences with music from live entertainers, visits to various locations outside the home of interest, as well as arts and crafts tailored to individual abilities. We are a pet-friendly home and fully support the benefits animal therapy can bring to the lives of our residents and welcome animals of all kinds to the home regularly.


Getting to know our residents better is so important, and through regular family and friends meetings, we can gain a greater understanding of their loved one's interests and lives before joining Elm Bank which will make for a richer activities program to be developed. Hello, my name is Dale and I'm part of the Activities team here at Elm Bank Care Home.


My role, and that of the team is to enrich the lives of our residents by providing stimulating and person-centred activities, entertainers and outings. I believe music is a great way to express one's feelings and personality and look forward to listening to the soundtrack of our residents’ lives.

Hello, my name is Mark and I work within the Activities Team here at Elm Bank Care Home.


It's a privilege for me to provide regular activities, ones our wonderful residents really enjoy such as Family Fortunes, Bingo and carpet bowls.


Everyone looks forward to their weekly scheduled gathering for a little competitive gaming with traditional games of prize Bingo, carpet bowls and dominoes being their favourites across the communities.

Hi, my name is Steve and work as part of the Housekeeping team here at Elm Bank. I re-joined the team in 2023 after a short break, I have over 8 years’ experience working within this beautiful home and it's good to be back! I adore our residents and have the daily privilege of being able to maintain their living space 'just the way they like it'. In my spare time, I enjoy watching all sports and going on long country walks.
