Us as a family where received Acer Court for our uncle. We find the staff always very helpful. They have got to know her very well and he is looked after in the best possible way.
On moving in we found the office staff to be very efficient and had all the paperwork in order for us.

Well kept home with loads of activities throughout the day in which the residents enjoy. Cleanliness is 100%. The staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. Management very friendly with nothing is too much for them to sort out, making sure you feel at ease when you're leaving their loved ones in your
care. All in all a care home I would recommend 100% to anyone.

My parents were both at Acer for a few weeks when their home was done up. Excellent care, all staff amazing. Room cleaned every day. They loved the food. Both have said they would go back when they need more help.

I have recently visited my friend who resides at Acer Court. She was in great spirits despite the recent COVID outbreak. She said it had been tough being in lockdown but the staff had looked after her so well and been so caring that she would not have felt safer anywhere else. It was lovely to see her

The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I found a nice response to a simple greeting encouraging. Being escorted on a short walk or to a shop (on a special bus) was helpful. Choirs, quizzes and entertainment in the mornings and afternoons were enjoyable. Provisions of tea/coffee, biscuits or buns
during the day was pleasant. Having my room well cared for was very helpful. Buildings appeared in the countryside, making the views interesting. Relaxing areas for walking and sitting were made by well-planted gardens. Inside was light with places to sit and talk or enjoy the views of paintings everywhere.

Mum moved in first for respite while dad was in hospital and basically she didn’t want to leave so we managed to get dad in when he was released from hospital. Unfortunately, we lost mum in November but being here has really helped dad to get over the loss. Everything the staff do is for the good of
the residents I can’t thank them enough. Acer Court is a five star home with ten-star staff.

My grandma has been at Acer Croft now for a few months, When I went with my dad to enquire, the reception staff were very welcoming and nothing was too much. The management team was helpful with the transition as my dad struggled with it. The care team always put my grandma's wishes first and has built
up a great relationship with her.

Thank you so much to the team at Acer Court, you are all fantastic.


Putting mum into a home was a difficult decision she found life at home lonely and at times dangerous. We looked around so many care homes but they were all old or had shared bathrooms or smelt so awful.
Walking into Acer Court

we instantly felt at home, we knew it was the right place.


The manager was excellent and could not do enough to help her feel comfortable. We work until 6 at night, she has stayed behind a number of times to meet us and help us come to terms with our mum being in a care home. The staff are amazing and my mum has taken them all to her heart.


When my mum lived at home, she would stay indoors for days on end. Now, I have to make an appointment to make sure she is in. I have never seen a care home do so much with the residents. Swimming, pub trip, days out to Cadbury world, panto! what more could any of us ask.

My grandfather has been a resident at Acer Court for a few years and we are thrilled with the home, It has a fantastic “homely” feel, all staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The food on offer makes my mouth water every time I see the menu. The Activities team are fun, bright and full

The walk in the garden for Alzheimer's day was great, my mum enjoyed the classical music played for her. It was a thoughtful and personalised activity. Thank you to the activity coordinator who did this. He is always kind and gentle in his approach. I would also like to compliment the care staff on

We have been using Acer Court for 2 years. My mother is extremely happy. There is a lot going on - lots to stimulate her. As a family we are worried that her money is going down very quickly but are reassured that the District Council will pick up the bill with our top up. Lovely staff.

I have recently had to make arrangements for my 96 year old Mum to move into a care home, an event she has always resisted. From the moment we first met the General Manager to the moment of moving my Mum into her actual room and the first couple of weeks of care, every person we have met has been extremely
helpful and friendly.
As far as the actual premises are concerned, when you first walk into the place you could be forgiven for thinking you had walked into a posh hotel. It is very clean and tastefully decorated and the rooms themselves are spacious and comfortable. The food is both plentiful and, from my Mum's reaction, delicious and the range of activities is absolutely terrific.
Most important of all of course, the standard of care is really tremendous. The carers make it clear that they regard the place as their residents' home and that virtually nothing is too much trouble for them. My Mum is very happy in her new home and for that, I am extremely grateful.

I visit regularly. Always very warm welcome from staff and always offered refreshments. The home has very high standards of cleanliness, décor and staffing levels.
Staff always greet my friend and other residents with dignity and respect. My friend is very happy here and enjoys all the varied activities
and outings that are put on each week by the well-being team. All staff are friendly, polite, knowledgeable and caring. Management recently changed but the new manager is very friendly and offers lots of support to residents/relatives.

I have worked at Acer Court since March 2016. I began as a housekeeper and then progressed to care as I enjoyed helping the residents and reassuring them where needed.


I moved on to become a Customer Service Advisor in June 2021. As I enjoyed meeting people and want to help people where I can. I find my job rewarding as often people aren't sure about moving their loved ones into a care home and I feel I am able to support and reassure them. I enjoy completing my show rounds with the families and answering any questions where I can. I feel when families are looking for a care home this can be an emotional time for them and they need compassion and someone to listen and support them on their journey to find their loved one in the right place.

My name is Gemma and I am the manager here at Acer Court. I have worked for Avery for over 8 years now developing my skills from a deputy manager in a busy Avery nursing home, in Staffordshire, to becoming a successful manager at sister home Alder House and now transferring to Acer Court.


I am from Stoke on Trent and I have worked in the healthcare industry for 18 years, completing most roles that you would find in a regular care home and working my way up to the manager role completing many qualifications along the way. My main experience, knowledge and background is in Dementia care and this is an area of care that I am most passionate about.


Outside of my career, I love to go to the gym Subsequently, this has led to me signing up for many charity events such as white-collar boxing, half marathons and various assault courses. I just love to help people, in any way I can.
