Wadhurst Manor is a 66 bed purpose-built nursing home in the award winning village of Wadhurst. The home is surrounded by beautiful views of the countryside and established gardens. It was refurbished in 2023 to a very high standard, offering a luxurious and relaxing environment to live.

With a team of highly-qualified and attentive staff who focus on the individual needs of residents ensuring each person receives a tailored care plan. Their dedication and passion can be seen across all departments.

Dementia friendly corridors that create multi-sensory experiences can be found on their Memory Lane community. The dining rooms and lounge areas allow for a comfortable space with a bit of luxury. Residents can access the terraced areas every day ensuring they have the freedom to enjoy the fresh air in a safe environment. A team of specially trained Nurses and Carers support those living with dementia and adapt to their needs, whilst always showing compassion.

Whilst Wadhurst Care Home has many excellent facilities with excellent and kind carers, there is one aspect that really lets it down and that is the quality of the Food. It is generally served lukewarm and is very institutional and unappetising. The actual cooking of the food leaves a lot to be desired.
The cutlery is often dirty (overloaded dishwashers/poor rinse programme/dishwashers need a deep clean?) and the crockery, particularly cups/mugs show signs of previous use.

My father stayed at Barchester Wadhurst Manor for a very short period leading up to his final days, after a stay in hospital. Whilst this was obviously a difficult time, the staff were very caring and made sure he was comfortable and well looked after. As visitors, we felt welcome and looked after.
In that period, we had some emotional and upsetting discussions with the staff about end-of-life care but they were especially careful to ensure that we understood clearly what they were saying and able to do and that we were at peace with it. They even offered help for us to stay overnight. We are very grateful for the care and dignity they gave to my father.

The staff at Barchester Wadhurst Manor Care Home looked after my father when he spent three weeks of respite care at the home. All the staff were both efficient and kind and my father was very well looked after. His health improved during his three-week stay so that he was able to return to his own
home after his respite care. I would recommend Wadhurst Manor Care Home to anyone who is elderly or has an elderly relative and who needs care. Many thanks to the staff.

I can't put into words how grateful we are to everyone at Barchester Wadhurst Manor. From the first moment we stepped through your door, we knew mum would be totally cared for and we were not wrong.
The warm, loving and welcoming environment you all create, feels like a true home and it's clear that
you genuinely care about the well-being and happiness of everyone in your supervision. The exceptional patience, love and kindness every single one of you gave mum and dad was amazing. You make every day special.
It has brought us great comfort to know that mum has been in such capable and loving hands. You really do spread the love.
You put mum 'back together again' and put a sparkle back in her eyes and I am so grateful for that.

Good, sympathetic treatment of a friend, sent here as a "hospice" from hospital for final two weeks of life. A nice place, good staff, one member of staff, in particular, is very helpful.

Have used this home as a respite for my husband; they have been superb, and their care has been exemplary. He has been very happy there. The facilities were great, and the entertainment was really good and professional. I would have no problem in recommending them.

The team genuinely care for the residents = they're full of smiles and kind words. The home is a lovely environment and it certainly feels like a very high standard of care. My aunt, who had been so fiercely independent into her 90s, fell in love with being there and being looked after so beautifully.

I find the care home a welcoming, happy place and Mum is so happy there. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff and we are kept well informed of everything that happens with Mum and regular updates of things going on in the home. The surroundings both inside and outside the home are kept

Absolutely amazing home. When mom had to be admitted for urgent respite, the response was quick, professional and compassionate. Mum has subsequently moved to full-time resident. Exemplary care, personalised to individuals needs. Mum is still transitioning into being a resident but much love and laughter
is something that can’t be bought. The whole team are marvellous and my mum is so happy. We were lucky to have found Wadhurst Manor, the manager and her team of dedicated staff.

The most important thing to me having my Mum living at Wadhurst Manor is Mum’s happiness. Despite her dementia getting slowly worse she has remained cheery and really considers Wadhurst Manor her home and feels part of the Wadhurst Manor family.
It is a great team that takes care of Mum and her needs
- always efficient, always approachable and willing to take time to chat to Mum and I.

My dad stayed at Wadhurst Manor for respite a couple of years ago and returned this February. Both times he has received wonderful care. There is a weekly activities schedule and Dad has enjoyed the movie night, attended the cinema at the local town hall, participated in flower arranging, and Mum was
also invited in for a Valentine's Day lunch to name just a few! When you walk in you sense the relaxed, informal atmosphere and are made to feel so welcome. I also remember very clearly how much help we were given by the manager and her team when Dad moved from the hospital. I time when you really do so appreciate the help and support. Dad arrived there really quite unwell but has just flourished. I cannot recommend highly enough. Thank you!

Mum is so happy at Wadhurst Manor. The staff are always helpful and ready to help and she is treated with respect and dignity by everyone.
It is spotlessly clean and she is well fed and cared for.
She is kept busy with all of the activities and loves being included in the excursions and projects.

Our friend and neighbour was at Barchester Wadhurst Manor for seven months following her stroke and a period of several weeks in hospital and an assessment care home. We hoped that being settled at this care home, which in better times she had visited and liked, she would regain some of her former self.
This wasn't to be but throughout her time at Wadhurst Manor, she was treated with kindness and respect by both nursing and care staff. We always felt welcomed and staff were ready to attend to any queries in a timely manner.

My aunt moved to Wadhurst Manor after a hospital stay, followed by carers at home. Her care and safety were of concern. At Wadhurst Manor, she was made welcome. Her medication was given regularly and she started eating again. She is now more relaxed and happy. She has made new friends, enjoys talking
to the staff and calls Wadhurst Manor home. Thanks to all the wonderful staff.

The first impression on entering the reception is an overpowering odour. Staff patronising and disinterested. Slow to respond to requests, is at all. A frightening and upsetting first experience of a care home. We have removed our mother.

The manager came to our rescue and helped organise the wonderful staff to help collect my father the next day from his home and move him into Barchester Wadhurst Manor when we found ourselves in a crisis. From the start, my mother and I felt so relieved he was in such a caring and safe environment.
Despite having Alzheimer’s the transition from home to the nursing wing at Barchester Wadhurst Manor was as smooth as it could have been thanks to all the care staff, nurses and management at the home.


All the fantastic nursing and care staff made us feel very confident that my father was receiving the best possible care. Respite care turned into permanent care after a few weeks as it became clear a return home would be too much to cope with, but the staff never tired of our daily visits - always offering us tea and delicious cake (baked in house). A real bonus was to be able to sit outside and watch the bunnies, birds and even deer on a couple of occasions.


Definitely the best care home for miles.

Stayed for a week after shoulder replacement operation. Really pleased as everything is excellent, staff cheerful and quick to respond, food very tasty and choice is good. More like a hotel than a care home. Expensive but worth it.

With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I began my career as a nurse and have advanced through dedication and unwavering commitment. In 2018, I completed my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership, equipping me with the skills to lead effectively.

I am dedicated to nurturing, mentoring, and supporting my team to ensure the highest standard of care is provided to our residents, thereby enhancing the reputation of our service. With a hands-on approach, I treat residents with the same care and compassion as I would my own family.

I joined the team in June 2017. I qualified as a Nurse back in 2014 and worked for a few smaller companies previously. The team here are lovely to work with and we all have a great relationship.


I am very passionate about my role and our residents are at the heart of everything I do.

Before this, I worked as a nurse(RGN), exercise to music and riding instructor and preschool supervisor.


I have 4 lovely children who are now grown up and travelling the world.


My hobbies include visiting my children, singing, dancing, hiking, mountain biking, skiing, reading and amateur dramatics.


I find enabling residents to remain active and engaged both physically and mentally is a wonderfully rewarding job. I particularly enjoy working on our memory lane units becoming immersed in their realities, enabling them to live their best lives by concentrating on what they can do not what they can't.

Hello, my name is Alexandra, I am a Care Practitioner. My career in the medical and care fields started with my first training in care in 2016, later on, I decided to further my studies in a field which had long been interested me, this then brought me a diploma as a pharmacy nurse in 2018.


Since then I have realised that I want to further my career in care and so in 2023 I became a care practitioner at Wadhurst Manor, where I have been part of the team since 2020.
