Wadhurst Manor is a 66 bed purpose-built nursing home in the award winning village of Wadhurst. The home is surrounded by beautiful views of the countryside and established gardens. It was refurbished in 2023 to a very high standard, offering a luxurious and relaxing environment to live.

With a team of highly-qualified and attentive staff who focus on the individual needs of residents ensuring each person receives a tailored care plan. Their dedication and passion can be seen across all departments.

Dementia friendly corridors that create multi-sensory experiences can be found on their Memory Lane community. The dining rooms and lounge areas allow for a comfortable space with a bit of luxury. Residents can access the terraced areas every day ensuring they have the freedom to enjoy the fresh air in a safe environment. A team of specially trained Nurses and Carers support those living with dementia and adapt to their needs, whilst always showing compassion.

Very lovely room. Lovely views over the countryside. Lots of wildlife outside to look at. Comfortable furniture and the food is lovely.

I have nothing but praise for the excellent team at Wadhurst Manor. Anyone who has had to make the decision to put a loved one into 24-hour care will know how devasting this can be. The team have looked after my dad as if he was their own relative. They welcomed him into their family and have dealt
professionally and kindly with his inevitable settling in problems and confusion. My heartfelt thanks to them all.

Dad had increasing nursing requirements, which could no longer be met at home. Due to Covid times, Dad went to Wadhurst Manor, which he had not seen. He likened it to a hotel, he received a really great standard of care. The staff were very quick to react to any changes in his condition and get him
additional professional help he required. As his condition deteriorated, he received compassionate, personable end of life care. This comfort and wellbeing were at the forefront of his care, and for this, I will always be grateful, especially in these times when we were completely relying on the staff.

I came here courtesy of the NHS and my social worker while waiting for my second operation to re-attach my hip to my pelvis. It is lovely here and I have been very well looked after. The food has been excellent and this staff are really nice, helpful and respectful.

Staff very friendly and helpfully attend to any needs. Nurses promptly answer or obtain answers to any medical problems and carefully watch that I safely self medicate. Variety of food is good and well cooked. I am quite happy here and enjoy many activities.

My husband has been diagnosed with Nonfluent Primary Progressive Aphasia which takes away many abilities including the ability to communicate. Therefore, it was a huge step for me to consider my husband going to a care home for respite especially in these current times. In the event, because of personal
circumstances, my husband stayed at Wadhurst Manor for six weeks. I feel we were both dealt with kindly and with courtesy during this time. I was concerned and worried but I had advice and help where it was needed. My husband has indicated he enjoyed his holiday, particularly the food! I know how hard-pressed the staff are, dealing with dementia clients but I feel my husband had good care and has come home happy and content.

All during the lockdown period my husband has been continuously cared for and looked after in a most professional manner. He is a long term resident and has always been treated as one of the Wadhurst Manor family. It is his home and I am reassured that even when circumstances as now only allow outside,
supervised visits, he remains settled, seems happy and content. I cannot thank the staff enough.

Following a very serious illness last year, the very hard decision came to put my dear mother into care where I knew she would receive the help she now needed. After an extensive search, I found Wadhurst Manor care home, where to my great relief; mother has settled into like a duck in water. I haven’t
seen her this settled and happy for years. It is a great comfort to me, especially at this present unsettling time to I know 100% that my mother is safe and being looked after by the fantastic team. The staff work tirelessly to keep the residents fed and watered, clean and healthy and very much entertained... I am very grateful to you all; thank you?

The care staff were very understanding and attentive to my husband's likes and interests even thinking to take him on an outing to the local fire station (he's an ex-firefighter). Played the music he loves. The visiting therapy animals were wonderful as well.

My husband became a resident this week and my family and I have been absolutely blown away by the professional, caring and friendly staff which enabled my husband to settle in so well. The whole process could not possibly have gone smoother and we are so grateful to the manager and his wonderful caring
team.
His room is very clean and spacious, the food is nutritious and delicious/nutritious and the daily activities he has enjoyed this week were plentiful, enjoyable and stimulating.
I was dreading how my husband would feel once he became a resident and I can honestly say the management and staff could not have done anything more or better and it is wonderful to know that my husband is now safe and so well cared for.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Barchester Wadhurst Manor.

My aunt stayed at Wadhurst Manor for one week over the Christmas period. She had a lovely time and would like to go back. The staff were friendly and caring. My aunt was on the residential floor.
Unfortunately, when we came to collect my aunt to take her home she was still in bed. This was due to lack
of communication but the carer on duty soon got her up and ready to leave. The carer was not aware my aunt was leaving on that day.

With over 15 years of experience in the care industry, I began my career as a nurse and have advanced through dedication and unwavering commitment. In 2018, I completed my NVQ Level 5 in Leadership, equipping me with the skills to lead effectively.

I am dedicated to nurturing, mentoring, and supporting my team to ensure the highest standard of care is provided to our residents, thereby enhancing the reputation of our service. With a hands-on approach, I treat residents with the same care and compassion as I would my own family.

I have lived in Wadhurst for over 50 years and I love living in this town which was voted the best place to live in the UK in 2023.

Hi, my name is Jaime, I am a Senior Carer here at Wadhurst Manor. I have been a Carer for 14 years. I am originally from Dorset. I enjoy walking outdoors and listening to music. I am passionate about supporting the residents with the things they love.


I thoroughly enjoy being a Carer and look forward to spending time with the residents. I am here to help and support them with their needs.

Hello my name is Colette and I started as a part-time administration assistant at Wadhurst Manor in November 2020.


You may have seen me on reception if you have visited. I enjoy collaborating with the friendly and hard-working staff teams here in the home to welcome and support our residents and their families. However long their stay with us, it’s a privilege to spend time with such a diverse assortment of interesting and engaging people.


I had not worked in the front line of the care sector before so I appreciate this opportunity to contribute to the delivery of excellent care.

Previous to here I worked as a college lecturer teaching building and construction. So a very different career path for me.

I have been working here at Wadhurst Manor since 2015. I started as an agency Carer. I really liked the way the home was run and the ethos behind everything they do.


When a position became available I did not hesitate to apply. The team are great as is the management too.

I am a resident here at Wadhurst Manor, I moved in July 2019. Since moving here I have made some lovely friends. I enjoy meeting new people and everyone here is so friendly and the staff have also become my friends. I really enjoy helping them out with odd jobs and meeting new guests in the home.
