Swinton Grange Care Home - Opened 2012 is a purpose-built EMI nursing home that can be tailored to many personal care needs, with twenty-seven rooms available including showers in many rooms.

All Hermes Care accommodations are set up for both efficient care and pleasant day-to-day living, with nurse call facilities for convenience and emergencies, together with a range of in-house entertainments and activities for residents.

All rooms have digital TV points and residents have their privacy respected, with staff also taking pride in offering a friendly attitude to visitors.

During my visits to the home visiting my friend I have seen a remarkable difference in her overall physical and mental health and well being.
It is wonderful to see each and every time the high quality of care delivered and kindness that is shown consistently and genuinely to all service users by
all staff members.
It is clear that from initial assessment through transition to settling into her new home here her quality of life has increased and improved significantly.
A large range of activities are always offered and available with a dynamic activity coordinator who is super friendly, patient and supportive.
Initially she was not eating due to her condition, within a short time of being here the staff have put together an individualistic holistic approach which has worked wonders! My friend is now eating, drinking and enjoying her meals!
I have worked in many different nursing homes over the years, this home stands out miles. I highly recommend!

Really nice staff, very friendly and well look after my dad even though he don't speak English. All team have good communication, treat my dad with respect and dignity. Always let me know if anything my dad needing. Thank you so much team.

Very pleased with the care of my aunt and she seems very happy there. Staff are all very friendly and helpful and I was impressed by the commitment shown by them for the residents care and welfare. Well done to the Activities Co-ordinator for providing stimulating group activities.

The home is very friendly the staff are very caring towards my auntie, they make sure she has everything she need. Nothing is to much trouble for them. As a family we appreciate everything they do. The food is very good and we are welcome to also have peak at the home when ever we want.

My dad is a resident for 3 years and my experience is very supportive carers who make every effort to care for my dad and his needs. I visit most days and can see my dad needs are met. He isn't able to do anything for himself. Our feedback is always listened too and out wishes are followed through.
Carers are always busy but nothing is too much trouble.

Brilliant fun Christmas party including all residents and families. Staff are selfless and brilliant ensuring everyone joined in and had fun. Beautiful buffet enjoyed by all. Staff went all out for Christmas for the residents had a singer food always made to feel welcome had a raffle can not put anything bad about it has my dad is well cared for always welcome me and my partner they do there best for residents and family

Mum was unable to stay at her home due to mobility issues and sadly due to struggling with daily activities and both personal and cognitive decline.
Recent hospital admission also confirmed it wasn't safe for her to live alone with, minimal support.
The decision to move to Swinton Grange.
From the
beginning, the manager met Mum at the hospital. Including my perspective.
Visited the home, staff rapport was amazing. Home from Home.
Involved in the transfer, Mum accepted the home. Worried about Christmas but was involved in all the activities.
In turn, the family are totally involved and offers support at a difficult time.

My husband was on end-of-life care and was only in Swinton Grange for 6 days. The care he received was second to none and all the staff looked after him and me brilliantly. Not a posh place but everyone was so helpful and caring.

Absolutely amazing care for my Mother-in-law, the staff are friendly helpful, and extremely caring for all residents. The staff can't help you enough with the care of your loved one, all residents are clean well fed, and genuinely cared for by all the staff.
Communication between staff, and the nurses
who work at the care home is fantastic.
In the last few days of our loved ones' stay here, the staff went above and beyond to support our family through a very difficult time, we are forever grateful to everyone at Swinton Grange.

Since my wife has been in Swinton Grange the overall experience has been excellent, the management through to the staff have gone out of their way to help my wife and me. My wife's dementia has hit a very trying stage for us all, the management have been in battle with the local mental health team to
get the support my wife needs, they're just not listening to them, yet they keep trying. It will be a sad day if my loved one has to leave Swinton Grange. Yes it's an old building, yes it may creak a bit, yes the paint may be peeling off the odd old wooden window, but it's the love, care and dedication inside that matters.

The staff are lovely; really caring and considerate to residents. My mum was transferred after a long stay in hospital and was a little unsettled at first. The staff treated her with dignity and respect and quickly made her feel comfortable and at home. They are very friendly when I visit and nothing

All the staff are incredibly friendly and always helpful. They look after my nan incredibly well. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and they treat her with dignity and respect. All staff are an absolute credit to the care home. They always make sure she is well fed, offer drinks regularly, make sure

Hello, my name is Janet Sheppard, and I am the Home Manager for Swinton Grange Care Home, where I have been in post since March 2022. I have been with the Company, Hermes Care since 2021 and was successful in my appointment to this home last year.
I have been in the Care Industry for over 30 years and am well equipped with the skills required to be fully competent in meeting the care and wellbeing needs of our residents.
My experience began at home aged 14 having to look after my ill mother, after this I decided caring for others would be my vocation. I then went on to work in various Care Homes with Mental Health and challenging behaviours, which include EMI Dementia physical disabilities, learning disabilities, neurological and spinal disabilities. I have a wide range of experience in all areas having worked my way up from a Care Assistant to a Home Manager.
I hold a level 5 Diploma in leadership and management. I am trained in Non-Abusive Psychological Physical Interventions (N.A.P.P.I) which supports the staff team to implement positive strategies to manage residents who may present with challenging behaviours. I believe understanding our residents' limitations helps us to build on their strengths in order to make a positive contribution towards improving the quality of their daily lives.
As a staff team we believe one smile a day is worth every bit of the hard work the staff team here implements because it allows our resident to know that they matter.
We have developed a Dementia friendly home with tactile, sensory, visual prompts, picture aids and activities to enhance our residents communication and orientation thus ensuring our home is fit for purpose to meet the needs of the residents.
