Swinton Grange Care Home - Opened 2012 is a purpose-built EMI nursing home that can be tailored to many personal care needs, with twenty-seven rooms available including showers in many rooms.

All Hermes Care accommodations are set up for both efficient care and pleasant day-to-day living, with nurse call facilities for convenience and emergencies, together with a range of in-house entertainments and activities for residents.

All rooms have digital TV points and residents have their privacy respected, with staff also taking pride in offering a friendly attitude to visitors.

Mum has only been here three weeks, but so far, the care given has been excellent. The staff are so attentive to both my mum and our needs. Meals are nutritious and hearty, and I would have no hesitation in recommending this home.

The service has greatly improved with more activities and the place has an improved feel about it under the new manager. It is a far better environment now and my uncle is well settled.

Having visited the home before my dad moved there, I found the staff to be really friendly and helpful, after visiting the home again after my dad had been there a couple of weeks, I was pleased to see how much happier he was than in his previous home. There are plenty of staff on duty and they take
pride in their work.

I recently had my mum admitted with dementia and lung cancer. She went to this home in April for five weeks and they helped with her rehabilitation. Due to declining health problems we asked she be sent back there and the home couldn't do enough to make it happen. I would highly recommend this care
home to anyone with family or loved ones who need round the clock attention. Thank you Swinton Grange for all you continue to do for my mum.

My friend is very happy with the care he is getting, it is much better than what he was getting when he lived on his own and if he is happy so am I. The difference in his outlook is brilliant, he looks forward to getting up each day now.

I’ve been visiting my grandad at the care home for a while now, but every time I visit he is always in good spirits and the staff keep him well looked after and active.
The care home itself is well presented, always clean and the staff are friendly, courteous and the upmost professional.
It’s safe
to say I’m happy with my grandad's placement and know he is being cared for.

The staff have created a very comfortable, friendly, warm environment for the residents; it's an absolute credit to them all.
The care home is managed perfectly; I can’t find any faults. My auntie's room is always clean, tidy and well-maintained. The food is always first class, with plenty of choices.

would recommend this home wholeheartedly and thank them for the care they are giving my aunt.

My uncle lives in Swintongrange. The staff are amazing and very welcoming. The home is lovely and well-managed. The food is very good, and they always ask if we would like to eat with our family members. The home is dementia friendly, and they all do a great job all-round. The home is very clean, and
nothing is to much trouble for the staff - they are truly amazing.

I and my son and daughter-in-law visited Swinton Grange on the 6th of October to view the home and the room he was going to stay in. We were made very welcome by all members of staff. Then on the 17th of October was transferred to Swinton and when visiting him on the 20th of October there was a big
change in him, he was happy in himself, my husband hadn't smiled at me for over a year and it was like a miracle had taken place in him. I can't say how grateful I am to all the staff for the wonderful change in him. I now know he will be cared for.

All the staff are lovely and my aunt is so much happier there. The meals are delicious and my aunt is gaining weight. Every carer that I’ve met has been friendly, helpful and so upbeat and positive! Couldn’t be any better in my opinion.

My husband has been in the care home for over a year and I can honestly say I could not fault the care that’s given to him. All the staff at the home are excellent and very caring. It is exceptionally clean and the food is second to none with a variable menu and well-presented. My husband suffered from
having two strokes and needs 24/7 care and I couldn’t wish for a better team of caring people to look after him. I would highly recommend Swinton Grange Care Home.

As my wife has only been a resident for a few weeks, we are still learning about the home. Our first visit, my son and I were shown around and shown my wife's room, since she moved we have found the staff, from management to everyone else, to be helpful, they always seem happy and will stop and have
a chat with you. If you want anything it is seen to as soon as possible. The food is very good and everywhere is clean. There are activities we haven't caught up with yet, but we have seen a slight improvement in my wife so this will soon come. We are satisfied she is being well looked after.

My father-in-law came here from the hospital. Can not put one fault in this place, and the staff are absolutely amazing with him. The staff are very welcoming, and I would recommend it to anyone that would be looking for a dementia care home.

Mom is 95 and suffers from severe dementia and was starting to fall at home.
After falling and skinning her shins, resulting in two traumatic days in the hospital and a temporary care facility, Mom was taken in by Swinton Grange.
From the very first, the carers welcomed her in and were very careful
in handling Mom; they very quickly organised 1 to 1 care around the clock and got Mom eating and drinking, with snacks and drinks between regular meals, all helping to build up Mom's strength again, this has slowly had a beneficial effect, and the turnaround for Mom has been incredible, the time, patience and dedication that all the carers that have shown and applied to Mom have been tremendous and there’s a smile on Mom's face again.
All the staff and management have been very forthcoming and straight with us, either in general information or in specific questions we’ve had.
This home provides the safety and quality of care that both residents and their families should expect.

My grandad has been a resident here for eight months, and it has been amazing to watch what they have done with him - it is incredible - from not being able to walk to them having him walking with a small time frame. The whole hospitality side of it, from the clean room, clothes and food, is impeccable,
and it’s always a pleasure to come to visit him.

My grandad came to Swinton Grange Nursing Home two years ago during Covid, and even during difficult times with restrictions etc, the staff have been very accommodating and understanding and kept us well informed. My grandad is very happy in their care and is well looked after; there’s always staff

Hello, my name is Janet Sheppard, and I am the Home Manager for Swinton Grange Care Home, where I have been in post since March 2022. I have been with the Company, Hermes Care since 2021 and was successful in my appointment to this home last year.
I have been in the Care Industry for over 30 years and am well equipped with the skills required to be fully competent in meeting the care and wellbeing needs of our residents.
My experience began at home aged 14 having to look after my ill mother, after this I decided caring for others would be my vocation. I then went on to work in various Care Homes with Mental Health and challenging behaviours, which include EMI Dementia physical disabilities, learning disabilities, neurological and spinal disabilities. I have a wide range of experience in all areas having worked my way up from a Care Assistant to a Home Manager.
I hold a level 5 Diploma in leadership and management. I am trained in Non-Abusive Psychological Physical Interventions (N.A.P.P.I) which supports the staff team to implement positive strategies to manage residents who may present with challenging behaviours. I believe understanding our residents' limitations helps us to build on their strengths in order to make a positive contribution towards improving the quality of their daily lives.
As a staff team we believe one smile a day is worth every bit of the hard work the staff team here implements because it allows our resident to know that they matter.
We have developed a Dementia friendly home with tactile, sensory, visual prompts, picture aids and activities to enhance our residents communication and orientation thus ensuring our home is fit for purpose to meet the needs of the residents.
