Richmond House is a residential care home specialising in dementia care, supporting residents to live happily and comfortably in the purpose-built home.

The home has fresh and modern features and furnishings which ensure the most up to date services and care can be offered to people living at Richmond house.

Richmond House has a variety of homely areas for residents to spend time in including a library, TV lounge, music area and a quiet lounge. There is also a more busier communal area where there is usually a hive of activity.

There is an outdoor patio area with a summer house and a gazebo for residents to enjoy, with raised flower and vegetable beds for residents to tend to their own plants and a variety of activities are always on offer.

The team is dedicated, passionate and highly skilled and trained in dementia care. Residents are family.

The home prides itself on the quality of food served to residents, with meals freshly cooked using nutritional and fresh local produce, catering to individual dietary and preferred diets. The residents are offered choices at each meal sitting from hot dishes to cold servings.

The ethos and practice of Richmond House is to provide and promote a person-centered service that is efficient, effective and enhances the individual’s experience and quality of life.

Richmond House will endeavor to form partnerships with the Service Users and their families in order to make a real difference to their lives.

My dad had dementia and didn't really want to go in a care home, but it became necessary. Once in the home he liked it, he liked the food, he felt very comfortable there, and it was a great comfort to us that we knew he was being looked after by very caring, capable people. I'm convinced his quality
of life improved significantly by being at Richmond House. He was in Richmond House for 2 years, and in that time I got to know staff from all levels- senior management, nursing staff, cleaning staff and kitchen staff, etc.
There is a good atmosphere at the home, and all staff I met seemed very competent, caring, well organised and had a great rapport with residents and visitors alike. The staff seem to work very well as a team, supporting each other.
I liked the variety of rooms, to give residents choices - TV room, music room, quiet room, sensory corridor, as well as dining room and garden.

My husband has been a resident of this EMI home since June 2011. A traumatic experience for both of us, having never been apart since marriage 55 years ago. The staff have gone the extra mile to help us adjust to this change in circumstances.He needed to go out each day walking or whatever, I was anxious
that they followed this through and it enabled us both to cope with the feeling of having all liberties taken away from us. There has been a change of staffing, people who have been there a long time, circumstances have moved on. Although we miss them, new staff have fitted in, with no obvious changes. When I have felt unhappy about ongoing care, the management have been ready to listen and act if appropriate, they are always available.

My mother was diagnosed as being in need of EMI Residential care. The social worker assigned to her case gave me a list of approved homes in the area. After looing at several online and speaking to friends in the nursing profession I arranged to visit homes to check their suitability. Richmond House
was the first on my list. I was so impressed with the overall appearance that I looked no further. My mother settled in very quickly and is very happy to stay permanently.

Richmond House is an exceptional care home. I feel so fortunate in finding it for my mother and am totally confident that every aspect of her care is managed perfectly.
The staff are absolutely wonderful. They are all kind, gentle, aware, discreet, professional, lovely friendly people. The atmosphere
is calm and truly caring. But perhaps the most important thing for me is that my mother could not be in a better situation. She can be challenging but they work their magic and without being condescending.
I had no idea how good this experience could be.
There are stimulating activities and regular events on offer for those who want to take part.
The house is light, bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean.
The food is excellent and all cooked on the premises, including freshly baked cakes which are served each afternoon. I am often there and have tasted lots.
Residents can choose when they get up and when they go to bed. Just like home!
For both my mother and I the experience of Richmond House has been life changing.

My partner is very well cared for in Richmond House Care Home. There is an adequate number of trained staff. The record keeping on patients is excellent as to medication. The food is good with in between tea and snacks. The home, staff and patients are very clean and hygienic. The patient/staff rapport
is excellent. Bedrooms have en suite WC's. Regular doctor and nurse visits also hairdresser/chiropodist. Separate lounge areas and communal area.
