I can never find the staff I need to talk to when I am at the home. I am not being informed of changes in my mother's medication. I am not notified of meetings or activities. I asked this week for my Mum to be seen for her Birthday out of her room. I gave over a week's notice and even called the day
before but this was not done. Parking is awful. White lines are needed for the parking bays so people who cannot park will be able to see the lines!

Whenever I visit my aunt, she is always well presented, clean, and comfortable. She has her hair done regularly. Her room is always clean, warm, and tidy. All the staff are very friendly and caring. Any medical issues are addressed very quickly. The staff are always happy to spend time with me to discuss
any issues or just general progress.

Overall I am happy with the care provided by Azalea Court. I believe my uncle is as happy and settled as he can be in this environment. The general manager was very supportive when we were looking at issues like funding. In addition, I know that the home had effective COVID-19 procedures and managed
visits according to accordance with guidelines; they have also introduced a WhatsApp communication tool which has been invaluable in maintaining communication. However, communication with the unit management is poor. When messages come, they almost expect instant action with regard to supplies etc. which isn't easy when you are not local and you work. Replies aren't always dealt with. When I was able to visit, sometimes my uncle would not be ready or you were unable to gain access because the telephone and door weren't answered. The cost I feel is prohibitive, but I feel that's more of an issue with government policy rather than the home itself.

The care home has become a prison fortress since March 2020, with the payback of being Covid free. The management has been very strong in keeping Covid at bay. The downside is the mental anguish of residents in the closing years of life, deprived of those who love them most. There is no perfect solution
to this virus pandemic and full marks go to precautions taken to protect residents at Azalea.

Thank you for your review. I fully understand how difficult it is to be going through this period of time. We are working very hard to enable visits with the building of our Visitor Rooms. I know this is no replacement for the face to face visits we have all got used too and I am constantly striving to find new ways to have that interaction we all need. I am hoping to have an outside space very soon which will also support all of us when we are told not to mix indoors. I truly hope that we are not considered a prison fortress but I also understand the analogy. Like so many of our visitors, you have stood by my decisions and for that, I am so very grateful. I hope to have some more positive news for you soon re the outside area.

My mum spent her last nine months on Poppy unit at Azalea Court. I don’t think she could have had better care anywhere else.
She was treated with respect and dignity by nurses and carers, all staff in fact. The home is well managed by the manager, supported by her staff that is efficient and hard
working. There are frequent activities and events they can take part in if they are able to.
In particular, we are very grateful to the nurse and manager of Poppy unit, who was very professional, efficient and caring throughout Mum’s stay, treating Mum with patience, respect and compassion at all times. She not only looked after mum’s health and well being but also supported us at the difficult time of mum’s passing and kept us informed.
I highly recommend this nursing home. It has a clean, pleasant environment, lovely garden and comfortable rooms. The staff is caring, hard-working and committed to their residents.

My mum came to Azalea at the end of her life, spending only a few weeks there, but it was such a contrast from the home she had come from. She was treated with respect and dignity, from Nurses and carers that truly cared. The Nurses are so professional. I feel that I was supported too. I just wish I
had moved her to Azalea much sooner. Highly recommend this 'Care Home'.

It’s coming up to nearly six months, my brother is a resident at Willow’s Nursing home. It was a very difficult decision for us as a family to put our beloved brother, husband and a dad to relocate to a care home. After doing some research and good feedback our family are very happy with Azalea’s facilities
and cleanliness and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The manager at Willow’s is very prompt on discussing the latest progress on the resident patient.
Although this is our first encounter with a care home, we are very pleased to let our brother become a resident at Azalea Court.
A special mention for the manager, as a family we are very thankful to you on how you gave us confidence on doubts we had as mentioned earlier. It’s always daunting for a family to put your loved one in a care home, but the way you at Willow’s, with your nursing staff, gave us the confidence and reassuring, the trust was very touching, thanks.

Willows Unit is a dedicated High Dependancy nursing wing of Azalea Court and is run by staff who are very knowledgable and caring towards the residents.


My wife was admitted three weeks ago now, and whilst there her condition has seemed to take a decline, but the staff are very friendly, and do

their best to help her be comfortable in her final days.


Because it’s a nursing wing, there is a buzzer system to call the nurses when required, just as there would be in a hospital. Nothing is left unthought of. At times it’s felt like there’s not enough staff like there should be two nurses on duty at any one time, not one. There are 8 rooms in Willows, and sometimes more than one of the residents needs assistance at the same time. It’s very hard for one nurse to split themselves in two.


The food could be a bit better, but that’s the only downside. Maybe find a different supplier.


Other than that, Willows has been brilliant in looking after my wife, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

My family member is being cared for by the staff at Willows, Azalea court. It's an incredible care home with great staff who are very friendly helpful and of course caring. My family member has been there for over a year now and we have always felt he is in good hands. There have been a few ups and
downs with his health in this time but the staff at the care home are always quick to respond and contact us immediately if there are any problems. I honestly couldn't recommend this care home enough and they have an excellent manager who makes sure everything is in order.

My wife is a resident at The Willows, myself and all her family and friends are very happy with this nursing home. All the staff I have met are very nice and friendly the care and respect she is receiving is amazing and I have no negative comments to say about that.
The home itself is very modern and
clean, the room she has is very nice compared to all the hospital wards she has been in. Its the normal things like carpet on the floor, having a tv on the wall and furniture that makes it feel very homely, I can furnish the room to how we want which is gonna make it more homely for us all.
Overall myself and her family are very impressed and think we have made an excellent decision to choose this home.

My sister in law was admitted to Azalea Court at the end of August 2018. Immediately we were all welcomed in to the wonderful willow unit. The communication between staff and family I can not fault. She is looked after with the utmost dignity and care.
She is clean tidy and as happy as she can be
under the circumstances.
We are most fortunate to have such a wonderful, caring specialist unit so close by.

I am very happy with the care my husband is receiving, the staff are very friendly and supportive to me. My only criticism is the lack of any rehabilitation. Please note that my husband is peg fed so I am unable to comment on the food. He is also unable to participate in any activities and his care
is funded.

I feel it necessary to formally write to you in regards to my dad's care (lack of), whilst in your nursing home.


My dad was transferred to your care on Wednesday 25th April after being diagnosed with terminal cancer.


Our family were assured by continuing health care that this home was able to

provide adequate care to someone that was coming to end of life. In my opinion, your staff are lacking basic skills to care for patients with a terminal illness.


Throughout my dad's stay at your home, my concerns were raised with staff. On some occasions, I did feel that the home did feel like it was slightly understaffed.


I think it is extremely sad that someone coming to end of life is not cared for appropriately. Although the staff in most part were kind, it felt they were lacking skills to manage patients with my dad's condition.


I have sent an email directly to the home, have received no response so thought I should put information here.

My uncle was given only two weeks to live when he was taken into the care home. This was in January 2018 and since then he has gone from strength to strength. The Manager and his team give my uncle such good care and emotional support. They are always on hand to answer questions and to give us updates
on my uncle's health and care plan. They are proactive and think ahead in terms of linking in specialist care so my uncle's needs are met. We have been amazed at the care and attention we all see my uncle is getting.

Mum was only living in Azalea Court for eight days before she passed away, but in that short space of time, she was treated with kindness and dignity. All members of staff explained to Mum what they were doing, even though at times she wasn't in a position to understand - but it was important to us,
her family to witness it.
Having spent the previous two weeks in hospital where staff just didn't have time to attend to Mum at times, I promised her that she would be staying somewhere where she would be looked after, and Azalea Court definitely provided that care. I would highly recommend Azalea Court , I only wish that Mum had been able to move there earlier in her final weeks.
