My Mum, aged 91, has settled well into Heather View after a brief time in hospital. She is so well looked after, safe and always neat and tidy. The staff are courteous and professional, dealing at times calmly with challenging behaviour as you would expect from someone with her degree of dementia. As
a family, we are so pleased with the level of care that she is receiving. The activities planned each day keep her more stimulated than being at home, often alone. I would like to thank all the staff for making all of as a family welcome.

Making the decision for my husband to go into long-term care was the hardest thing I have ever had to do. However, Heather View has been excellent, and although I still worry, I am beginning to realise it was the right decision. My husband, who is 76 years old and has Parkinson's Disease and Dementia,
has been there a few weeks now, and I actually think he seems better in himself than when he was at home. There are activities to stimulate him, and the care staff are so good with him and look after him extremely well.

At the age of 98 and having had two falls at home within 12 months which resulted in weeks in hospital on each occasion, my mother transferred from hospital to Heather View two months ago, her first time in a care home. She is being very well looked after and has settled in, a tribute to the excellent
care being given by the team responsible for her who are consistently capable and cheerful.

My mother is well cared for in a safe and comfortable home. Although my mother suffers from Alzheimer's she is very content with extremely caring and cheerful staff around her. Nothing seems to be too much trouble for the staff who are always there for her. I am reassured that she is in the best place
for well-being and safety.

This is my wife's third visit to the home for respite. Over the past three years she has been in several homes, but Heather View has so much more to offer. She can be very hard to be looked after and be verbally very rude. The staff seem to overcome most of these problems.

We used Heather View for respite care last summer and now for permanent care, due to my father's infirmity. My father is close to 100 years old and all the staff cope enormously well with his needs and welfare, making him feel as much at home as possible. As a daily visitor to my father, I'm always
impressed with the care and compassion that they show and the staff have got to know him as an individual and cater to his needs. Their communication with me is exemplary without fail. The facilities at Heather View Care Home are exceptional.

I totally recommend Heather View as a care home. My dad has been resident for over 3 years. He has dementia and is always treated with love and respect. All the staff are friendly and caring and keep you informed of any issues. There is a really happy atmosphere in the home. My dad is part of a big

Really a first-rate home in terms of facilities. However, what really made the place special for our mother was the excellent, super friendly and empathetic staff and very knowledgeable and experienced manager. The stay was only for about six weeks because we needed to find a home nearer to us for long-term
care; however, I would 100 per cent recommend Heather View based on those six weeks... PS, we were in the nursing wing part. Thanks to the manager and all the staff who looked after our mother.

I couldn't have asked for a nicer transition into a care home for my mum. The staff at Heather View have been so kind and welcoming. The carers have amazing patience and compassion. When issues have arisen with my mum's health the staff have been quick to act and been great advocates on my mum's behalf.
The staff and the other residents have also been fantastic at engaging Mum in the social activities and encouraging her to eat. She's the happiest I've seen her in months.

The home is excellent with friendly and efficient staff who care for their inmates at all times. The facilities are very good and the decor is in good condition. The food is of a high standard and drinks are supplied according to taste. My wife is here for respite care extended from two to three weeks
and has felt happy in the homelike environment.

I was very impressed when I first visited Heather View and no other care homes I saw compared. My mother has settled in very well with the support of the staff who are very friendly, kind and caring towards the residents and their relatives. They have quickly gained an understanding of my mother's
wants, needs and behaviours (she has Alzheimer's). It seems to be very well staffed and all seem to enjoy their work. My mother seems to think she is on holiday, possibly because it does feel like a hotel and there is plenty of entertainment and good facilities.

My partner and myself visited three separate care homes. Heather View seemed the most efficient, friendly, caring and knowledgeable of her needs and the situation that she finds herself in and value for money (although expensive). She is at present having a trial respite for two weeks, but she is already
seeking a more permanent stay, which I know will make hers and my life so much more happy and less stressful.

A really lovely, hotel-like environment, giving a home from home experience.

Heather View is a lovely care home.
The staff are friendly, always approachable and they really care.
The residents are all individuals and respected also. Not only are all their physical/ nursing needs met, with dignity but there are daily activities so no need to feel lonely or bored.
The home
is bright and airy, there are different lounges to choose to sit in and a garden for the summer.

My father spent his last weeks being taken care of for his dementia and other medical complications. He was treated with respect and warmth. As a relative I felt that my father was liked by his carers. The food was excellent as was the standard of cleanliness. When he passed I felt comforted by the
calm atmosphere in his room and the knowledge and care of the staff.
My mother is now a resident and is enjoying excellent care and patience from the staff. Who are looking after her every need.

Heather View family, my mum has been part of the family for 4 years. In this time she has made friends with not only the other residents but the staff as well. It is a very difficult decision to place your loved one in a care home and I've never regretted this decision once. They care for her as they
would their own loved one, anticipating her needs and just having fun, whether it is a chat, holding her hand, getting pampered with a visit to the hairdresser or making sure she is dressed as glamorous as she used to be. Mum is now on the Nursing floor having moved from the Dementia floor and they have made sure all her pictures, photos have been put up exactly as they were in her previous room. The care that they provide is first class and all the team at Heather View do it with a smile. The staff are available if you need a quick chat and also provide comfort in difficult times. Thank you Heather View family for making Mum's dementia journey dignified for her and our family.

Visiting Care Homes I haven’t always left with the best impression, when I knew Mum needed to go to care home, we were concerned, as you hear stories. Our fears couldn’t have been further from the truth.
My Mum has been welcomed into the Heather View family, she was admitted during very difficult times
with isolations, this was met with empathy and care.
Mum is treated with so much love and care, total dignity and nothing is ever too much trouble.
The atmosphere and culture is great, I feel like I am visiting my Mum in her home. Everyone is now my family, Mum loves going to have her hair done, she loves to get her nails painted weekly, enjoying choosing different colours, and having fun as she would put it “with my girls”. They know Mum's likes and dislikes. She adores a bath so regularly gets pampered. She enjoys a visit from Roo (dog) a glass of wine, watching the Chase, sing-a-longs. She mostly loves a particular staff member (especially his tea!) and “her girls”.
She is a happy, safe Mum!

Job Title: Home Manager

After 12 years working in care homes, I decided to join Care UK due to the outstanding reputation they are recognised for and leading the way forward.


The input into developing their teams acknowledges staff and rewards them for their hard work and commitment.


Outside of work, I love walking in the countryside, which I discovered at the start of lockdown. I attend gym fitness classes and enjoy weight training as this really does help keep a positive mindset and helps alleviate stress.


My favorite part of each day at Heather View is being on the floor and talking to residents, and hearing their ideas and suggestions. For me, it is important to enable the residents to be involved in the running of the home so they feel included and valued.


I look forward to leading and developing the home team, as well as giving and enabling opportunities for the residents to create meaningful moments.
