Over the first month of stay here, my grandmother has settled in well. She seems to be receiving good care and the staff are treating her well. I hear that she is eating well and being cooperative when taking instructions from staff, i.e. when going for shower/getting dressed etc.

My father-in-law has been in this care home for three years. We have a wonderful relationship with the carers and the manager. The care for my father is excellent and I am so grateful for the peace that the carers give us every time we come to visit Dad. The food is plenty and varied and my father enjoys
it.

Reply from Amit Patel, Business Manager at Bhakti Shyama Care Centre

Excellent care provided to my mother. Delicious, tasty, freshly cooked vegetarian food served every day and all day along with good activities and a religious atmosphere. Excellent care provided by the nurse. Wish her a well-deserved holiday and safe journey back home and waiting to welcome her back
to the UK to continue her service here. Many thanks to all staff. Kind regards.

Care support is very well provided, linguistic skills are good and mainly the environment is very good as it gets you connected to your roots as where you were born and you feel at home in this care home here in the capital city of England.

The staff at Bhakti Shyama have always (and continue) to take great care of my mother. They understand her as a person and know her requirements very well. The manager consistently and lovingly reviews Mum and her medication. They take all the family's opinions into consideration.

I think the carers need to be trained on a regular basis. One member of staff needs to be in touch with a member of the family with updates.
Some staff are not suitable to be carers, lack of training.

Great care is given to residents.
Carers work very hard.
Management is excellent.
The only thing is my father's room needs to be addressed - the carpet needs to be replaced and the ensuite needs to be refurbished and mould-free.
Other than this, Bhakti Shyama takes effort in the job they do
and the service they provide.
The food is also very good.

Although my mother-in-law's placement started off with clear expectations and high hopes, unfortunately, these were unmet in many ways. On the face of it, this nursing home appeared to be welcoming and caring but within an incredibly short space of time, it became apparent this was not the case. The
healthcare assistants are mostly friendly and appear to be largely keen to do a good job. However, there seems to be reticence and complacency on the part of the leadership and management team. The most dedicated people seem to be a husband and wife, both trained nurses who are, unfortunately, only agency staff.

My Grandmother moved into Bhakti in the spring of 2016.

Bhakti provided an exceptional level of care. All the carers were very professional, caring and carried out their duties with a smile.

My Grandmother often commented positively on all aspects of her care and was particularly happy with the

meals provided. From September 2016 my Gran's health started to deteriorate due to age and Bhakti continued to maintain their high care standards and support us as a family by assisting us with hospital appointments.

I would like to thank the entire Team and Management at Bhakti.

Keep up the good work!

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.159)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.159) out of 10 for Bhakti Shyama Care Centre is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.259 for Bhakti Shyama Care Centre is calculated as follows: ( (54 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (20 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.259

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bhakti Shyama Care Centre is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 25 registered maximum number of service users is 5, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
