My mum was sent to Pretbury House under continuing healthcare end of life. Everyone in the home made us all feel very comfortable and at ease knowing Mum was getting the care she needed at the end of her life of 92 years. Sadly, she passed away after ten days in their care home, but we knew she was
looked after the best she could have been. Thank you to all the staff at the home.

I can not thank the team at Prestbury House enough for the support given to my family through a very difficult time. The customer service manager and the home manager were exceptional, and to know that my dad is happy and safe is all our family could ask for.
My dad has very high standards, and the
facilities in the home are first-class. He is always clean-shaven, and the last time we visited, he was eating really well, compliments to the chef.
My dad has lived most of his life in Prestbury Village, so to have a home of this standard close to where he lived means his friends are able to visit. I highly recommend this home.

Dad moved into Prestbury House in September. He seems very settled. Dad's room is very clean and comfortable for him with the added bonus of his own en-suite bathroom. The staff are all very friendly.
Dad's floor is very big which enables him to have a wander around. The cafe and drinks area providing
free drinks to relatives is excellent.
The communal living room is very welcoming.
I would definitely recommend the place to anyone looking for a care home for a relative.
My only slight complaint would be that I visit Dad every night and there is no one in reception to open the front doors. It very often takes a long time for someone to come and let me in.
I always leave my dad knowing that he is warm, safe and well cared for whilst I am at work every day and not alone when I leave him at night.

Everyone involved with Mum at Prestbury House has been very good. They have made a big effort to make it possible for Mum to get home for a couple of hours on Christmas Day with a risk assessment and 2 carers to accompany her.
This was very much appreciated by all the family and had a great positive
effect on Mum.

Mum has been a resident at Prestbury House for several months now and is very happy and settled, viewing it as 'home'. She is very well cared for and has friends there, both staff and other residents. All her needs are met and her visitors are made welcome. She has an active social life and honestly,
her quality of life is so much better than it would've been if she has gone to her own home. Thanks to the care and compassion of all the staff. She is living her best life. We as a family and relieved and delighted.

Dad is looked after marvellously at Prestbury House, we have complete confidence in the team there. However we are disappointed more experienced staff are leaving and its because they can get "much better" pay at other nearby nursing homes. It would be great if the fantastic staff were rewarded more.

Everyone at the home is very friendly and helpful. The carers do a fabulous job of caring for mum with a dedicated and caring approach. It's like having extended family with the staff and carers of the home who are always welcoming despite being very busy.

Very clean and well-kept rooms - my first impression was how well everything was laid out in the lounge areas. and the breakfast/lunch room. The fiid looked really lovely and very carefully balanced and the choices on the menu are good. the staff are very caring.
Still shocked we cannot go into the
main lounge areas to be with other family members. The pandemic/Covid measures seem too restrictive. It has changed the feel of the visit experience for the resident too. I know we can sit in the bedroom, but it is not the same.

I feel that my wife is well cared for in Prestbury House and I would have no hesitation in living there myself should it become necessary. My wife does not take part in activities. She prefers to say in her room and read, do crosswords or watch TV.

Both of my parents arrived at Prestbury House at the end of January 2022. This was a difficult time due to covid restrictions. Once we could visit, we have been impressed with the staff on Gawsworth floor. There are no bank or agency staff - this team is made up of regular staff who are very caring
and compassionate. Even when my dad was struggling to settle, the team worked hard to help him adjust. Sadly, he was only there for a few weeks but staff and two staff members, in particular, were so lovely during end of life.
Mum has had to adapt to life without her husband of 60 years but she is settled and definitely well cared for. Staff keep us informed of any issues and I recommend Prestbury House. I am an Adult Safeguarding Board member and have led numerous Safeguarding Adult Reviews so I know exactly what good looks like when it comes to caring for vulnerable and elderly adults. Processes in the home are embedded and the home self refers to Adults Social Care when necessary.

I have over 30 years of experience working in hospitals across the world and worked as a Registered General Nurse and midwife in India from 1990 to 1994. I have worked in care home management for over 15 years.


Working in various roles across different organisations, primarily within a care home, has given me a deep appreciation for creating a nurturing and joyful environment for our residents. I am most inspired by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference, where each person feels valued, respected and celebrated for who they are and the journey they’ve lived. My goal is to bring warmth and happiness, to make our residents feel safe, well-cared for and uplifted. Being in a care home should feel like the beginning of a fulfilling chapter, where every resident’s wishes are honoured and their days are filled with joy, dignity and purpose.
