Charing House Care Home in Gillingham provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite for up to 88 residents and are able to accommodate funded as well as private clients.

There five separate wings, including the Bessie Parr Wing, the George Smith Wing, the William Griffin Wing, the Barry Hodgman Wing and the Freddie Cooper Wing. While the home has a lift to all floors in the building, ideal for those unable to manage stairs, and a service lift which runs separately to two of the home's floors.

The home is designed and furnished to ensure wheelchair access in all rooms and bathrooms at the home have either a static bath or shower tray large enough to accommodate lifting aids.

Charing House Care Home offers a range of specialist equipment designed to support care for all clients. All resident rooms are fitted with a nurse call system and some rooms have pressure mats which are linked to the call system in place.

Rooms also have telephone and aerial points, and suite furniture - one of which has a lockable facility should the client wish to maintain safekeeping for personal effects.

Set in the original Municipal Buildings, Charing House is directly adjacent to Gillingham Park and therefore gives a relaxing outlook from many of the residents' rooms and also the facility for residents to be able to walk with their families around the park, if sufficiently mobile to do so.


In our

opinion, care is of a high standard at Charing House and we have been very happy with how our loved one is treated.


We would highly recommend this care home to others seeking a clean, caring and dignified environment for their relative.
