Very friendly staff who have a lot of time for each resident. Lots of activities available for
residents. Everyone finding things really difficult and tough at the moment, due to the covid restrictions and staff are very strict, making sure everyone is covid free.

Mum has been living at Westerton for nearly two years now and her care has been very good. We are kept informed of any changes to her physical and mental wellbeing and the staff dealing with Mum are professional and friendly, always looking out for her and attending to her needs.

As a family, we cannot praise or thank Westerton and all the lovely staff there enough. I hope they read the reviews too and not just families looking to place their loved ones somewhere safe and special. We've certainly found somewhere amazing for mum, she tells the staff she loves them and she means
it. She is happier than we've seen her in years and spends her days laughing, dancing, drinking tea, eating cakes, going to the cafe, the theatre and the cinema - all in-house at Westerton. I'm sure the staff there sometimes forget what an amazing job they do and the difference they all make. It's great to visit and meet them and hear them all laughing and joking, making a visit special. Westerton have given Mum a whole new lease of life and shake up perceptions of what a care home can be. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it - my sister has worked in the care sector all her life (mum did too) and it's a really top class place to live and dance the slosh at 8.30am (if you want).

Feel safe in the hands of Westerton. I came in for three weeks respite but that was four and a half years ago! I have full mental abilities and only recently after a very bad fall, only then voluntarily decided to give taking control of my own medication.
No place is perfect but as a recipient of Westerton
Care I am satisfied anyway as going on for 96, I am as content as anyone of that age can be. Also plenty of good humour and back-chat!

I have been very pleased with the overall level of care being provided for my mother, who has been a resident at Westerton for the past year and a half. The home is bright and modern and with nice open outlooks. The staff are attentive and enthusiastic, and the atmosphere created is of a busy and active
house, but with a relaxed and friendly manner.

My wife of sixty-nine years has been a resident for almost two years and is the most precious person to me in all the world. I phone each morning at 0530 and once again during the day. In addition, I also send her a letter each week. I find the latest restriction to my past visits to be very hard to
bear and are at best bittersweet at the lack of contact. However, I live with the knowledge she is safe from this virus. I receive nothing but courtesy from the staff both from those in charge and the carers. My letters are read to her, sometimes more than once, with unfailing respect and although her memory is unable to remember what has been read to her she knows I am thinking of her and she gets comfort from that. I can honestly say I have no qualms about her treatment and the dignity she receives from all in the Home. I look forward to the day when we can once again visit and have contact with our loved ones.

I've been very happy for my Mum to be at Westerton and, more importantly, my Mum appears very content. Without exception the carers and staff are excellent. Although my Mum has (physical) speaking and hearing difficulties, she has a good relationship with everyone.

My mum has been looked after very well since she has been in the home, there are times when things don't run perfectly, however she receives round the clock care as and when she needs it. The staff are excellent - there are times when staff changes can cause concern for my mum as changes affect her,
but these are kept to a minimum. The home itself is well managed and kept to a high standard. Most importantly they listen when I have any concerns.

My wife has now been in Westerton Care Home for three years and I have the highest regard for the care she has received all that time. She suffers from dementia and total immobility from arthritis following hip replacements in the late 90s, so she has to be fed (on mashed food) and she is difficult
to move but staff have always shown great care and gentleness. Their reward is often a smile or a rare word of gratitude. Staff have changed over that period but always seem to be well supervised and ready to contact me if some slight treatment is needed.

Despite all the difficulties of running a care home - especially during the past few months - Westerton Care Home staff have kept my mother safe, healthy, comfortable and content. There’s a relaxed and informal atmosphere in the home; it’s not at all institutional. The staff are friendly and do their
jobs extraordinarily well.

I was very opposed to my husband going into Argyle Unit. He had been 10 months in 3 different hospitals and was in an extremely poor physical condition. I think I was too close to fully appreciate the true level of his mental deterioration. The person who assessed him was absolutely right and I soon
came to realise that Argyle was the correct placement. Due to the level of care received, my husband has put on some much-needed weight and was with encouragement, beginning to engage slightly. He was even heard laughing. However, I do appreciate that he has regressed somewhat but hopefully, he may improve in more normal circumstances, but I am very realistic and know there will be no miracle fix. The staff in Argyle have my utmost appreciation and gratitude. As a family, we were always made to feel very welcomed and supported. Indeed, given my husband's lack of communication, visiting on my own has been extremely difficult without the Argyle staff.

My 94-year-old mother was admitted to Westerton for palliative care in mid-September until she passed away in early November. She received fantastic care from everyone at Westerton. These are people who do their job because they love it and it shows in everything they do. Although my mother was unable
to use them, there is a range of facilities there with lounges, family rooms, a sensory room, hairdresser, a cinema and a cafe as well as covered car parking. Mum had a lovely spacious room with a view across the canal to Glasgow.
Special thanks to the staff for their compassion towards not only my mum, but her family, especially on her passing away. Mum was always treated with great respect and dignity throughout her stay and for that, we are extremely grateful.

My mother lived for 6 years in the home and during my visits, I was impressed by the kindness, patience and professionalism of the staff.
The rooms (and my mother) were clean and smart and I cannot fault the running of the home as far as cleanliness, activities, facilities are concerned.
And it was
personal touches of the staff that most impressed me.
They indulged my Mum's idiosyncrasies, her love of routine and allowed her as much independence as safety allowed.
She was supported with dignity when she died this month aged 96. The family was also supported throughout.
