My mother moved into the care of the manager and staff at Eleighwater House about 12 months ago and was made to feel very welcome into what feels like a family environment. After the settling in period, she now feels very at home there. The house and grounds are lovely where she can sit out under the
veranda with the staff or other residents and make a fuss of the dogs. The staff are very patient and nothing is too much trouble. The food is all home cooked and they all sit together which gives meal times a family atmosphere. I highly recommend this home for its caring attitude.

Thank you for your kind words, your mother is a pleasure to care for and she is always so grateful for all we do for her. It is nice to see her joining in with more of the activities we provide. She especially enjoys seeing the dog in the morning when she has her first cup of tea.

I am very impressed with the level of care and the homely atmosphere of Eleighwater House. All the staff are extremely friendly and seem to have infinite patience. I love the homely feel, the home cooked food and the support all the staff are very willing to give.
It is truly a home from home. The
setting is excellent as there is a beautiful garden and grounds where a lot of the fresh food is grown and residents can wander or just sit outside in a beautiful country garden.
The owners and their staff all show a very high level of professionalism and commitment to making all the residents feel welcome and an instant part of the family is commendable. All the practical side of the paperwork seems very well organised as well.
It is a super place for anyone to retire to and would not hesitate to recommend it. I am hoping that when the time comes my own mother will be able to stay there.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.283)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.283) out of 10 for Eleighwater House Retirement Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.583 for Eleighwater House Retirement Home is calculated as follows: ( (82 Excellents x 5) + (2 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Poors x 2) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 96 Ratings = 4.583

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Eleighwater House Retirement Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 8 registered maximum number of service users is 1.6, which has been reached with 7 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
